I have heard many good things about Jollibee. The one in my hometown has just recently opened & was…read morealways crowded, we opted to try here since we were in Alberta. First off, lots of Filipinos eating here to enjoy a taste of home. Secondly, the young lady taking my order was extremely rude & almost felt put out that she had to speak English. When I asked her to read my order back, she rolled her eyes at me. Thirdly, chicken was good. Nice and crispy and hot. Mashed potatoes were okay, nothing great. Spaghetti reminded me of when I was a college student and lived off of spaghetti. I wasn't that impressed. Pineapple drink was delicious! The place is in a mall. So mall restaurant mentality. People sitting around waiting for their orders. I think I was the only non Filipino person in the place. I've been. I can say I tried it.

I entered Fritou Chicken in Skyview, and it was dimly lit and small inside. I heard from a friend…read morethat the chicken strips are really good, so that is what I ordered. I was told that it would be a 15-minute wait, no problem, I walked around the plaza outside twice, then came back in. I received my order, and the size of the chicken strips were literally the size of bananas, oh yeah! They were huge, 3-4 inches longer than a can of pop, so I had some leftovers to deal with. The chicken strips were hot, crunchy and tasty. The Kool-Aid man would agree with my assessment, oh yeah! I didn't care for the dipping sauce, but the only thing that would have complement these chicken strips would have been blackened ranch dip. I have had Fritou at other locations before, and had always been disappointed, but Fritou Chicken in Skyview is the exception, oh yeah!

I ordered their headliner 12" Steak Bomb for me and a 12" Chicken Bomb for my wife. I figured let's give their features a chance. Also got a side of fries for my wife and a garden salad for me. Service was quick and pleasant. It's a take-out sub place - so nothing for ambiance. GO TO FIREHOUSE! Bill was $43 including tip. The subs do not even compare to Firehouse. Bland, minimal fillings, edible but nothing special. Fries were good. Salad was soggy. Jon Smith does not make our list of dining spots.
