This is a KFC/A&W store. It's fast food. What do I really expect? The service here is always bad. Eighty to ninety percent of the time, bad. They have an automated greeting at the drive thru. Ordering in the app was especially bad during Covid. I used to love getting the mashed potato bowl with corn and popcorn chicken. Also I loved the pot pies. But I will never go here because they always find someway to make the food badly. The mashed potatoes are stale, there's no corn in the bowl. Or the popcorn chicken is just breading and no chicken. Ambiance is also not good. If you come here late at night, after 9 or 10pm, there are stray cats in the plaza. I called before I went to make sure I could get the $10 Tuesday special on my way to work since I work graveyard, they said yes of course I get there and the drive-through lady tells me all they have is legs so I said we make it extra crispy then no all we have his legs. After living in Oakdale for four years (we love living here!) and frequenting the KFC here multiple times during the year, I felt it was time we weigh in on our local KFC. My husband just picked up our take out order at 5:00ish on a Friday night, 1/31/2025, after calling in our order. We are older and quirky. We typically order ALL thighs, half regular and half extra crispy, all cole slaw and no biscuits. The biscuits are tasty but we don't need the carbs. The young woman who took our order was polite, professional and kind, as always! That has always been our experience. So, typically, this great crew gives us a lovely chocolate chip cake instead. Its a love/hate relationship. We hate that they give it to us but we somehow, choke it down. Just an aside, we stopped in to the now closed KFC in Riverbank, which has closed and is now a Mexican restaurant, for our typical order. After placing our order inside the restaurant, the manager came out to tell us that they cannot prepare our order without advance notice! Seriously, the Oakdale store does it EVERY single time without pushback. Funny, though sadly, the Riverbank location was closed! Just our experience as locals. read more

My personal Apology to the crew there on the night shift, what I thought was chicken backs was actually the way KFC cuts its chicken now to make them look bigger, they actually add part of the lower back to the thighs so you see a bigger piece and me personally I DO NOT LIKE THE BACKS AT ALL. I used to be cooks assist back in the 80's and saw what those things have in them. The crew was very nice and Me and the food was good. My wife loved the biscuits, they were extrememy soft and fresh. Sadly they do not give you honey and butter anymore but NP, They lost one star not due to the employees they are 5 stars, the one is to KFC directly for the new chicken style. I think I am done with going to a KFC in general now due to the chicken cuts. But this one in Oakdale is great and it was nice to see a staff of more than 1 or 2 people like you see at the Local BK. read more

I thought I would leave a positive review for a fast food place that did exceptionally well. The A1 burger was perfectly cooked juicy and all ingredients tasted fresh. The fries that came with. It were crispy and fresh and perfectly seasoned. The staff was very friendly and had my food out to me less than 4 minutes from the time I ordered, it was about 20 minutes till noon. I would definitely eat here again as a replacement to the A&W root beer that closed in Modesto. This definitely exceeded my expectation. read more

The girl who works the window the receipt says RileyB is actually horrible she demands you pay exact change or with a card before you can even order and rushes you even when there is obviously not one Other customer anywhere near this place. She has been rude before so nothing new there. The owners know also because there are like 100 other reviews about her. Today takes the cake tho she was her usual charming self but I could hear the other workers screaming behind her, not sure if you just leave high school kids I charge but this place is a disgrace. The drive through window is literally caked with grease and dirt. The soda machine was gross and I could see the dirty pass window and all the chicken containers are filthy also. I really try to focus on customer service when it comes to fast food chains. We all are familiar to the menus, unless they have speciality items. Today I went and got the Chicken and Waffles. The chicken was tasty as always but the waffles were a nice surprise. I would definitely get this again. Bonus on the service and friendliness here. The original reason I came to KFC today was for 4 root-beer floats & 4 hot dogs for the kiddos. Of course as luck would have it their ice-cream/root-beer machine was broken. No big deal as I can make them myself. After putting in mud order for the 4 hot dogs they asked me to pull up front and wait for my order. Waited and waited. How long does it take to put together 4 hot dogs since I asked for it plain??? i sat and waited 15 mins for 4 freakin plain hot dogs. When she finally delivered my order (dragging her feet for every customer who was awaiting up front for their order). Then they forgot my hot sauce that I told them specifically I needed. I hate doing this but after so many disappointing experiences I had no choice. Every single time you pull up to the drive-through window you are absolutely guaranteed to be told they are out of 80% of the menu. Whatever you are lucky enough to have in stock you can be assured that it is going to be old and cold. And this is all if they are even open in the middle of the day because they are short staffed and decided they just weren't going to be open. I don't know what the problem is here nor do I know why it seems like they have no urgency to fix it but I am absolutely done wasting my time and money on this place.
