I normally don't do fast food, but given the circumstances, I caved. For a fast food burger joint, I left happy (and feeling gross) after the burger, fries and shake. The bun on the burger was a little too toasted for my taste, the fries a little too salty, and the shake maybe just a tad bit too thick, but the service was fast and friendly. So friendly, I felt compelled to tip the old man from the kitchen who kept running us different sauces and spicy pickles while taking the time to explain each one even though they were clearly busy. I likely won't be back, unless I'm in a pinch for fast food again in the near future.

We came…read morehere for breakfast, ignoring the international food festival (with its attendant crowds) in the plaza next to Toks. Toks, a chain with several Distrito Federal locations, was nearly empty when we ate there. The interior is clean, modern and a little upscale with a professionally-attired staff. Service was speedy and friendly. The menu was large with many options, but me having experienced some of the best burgers in my life in Mexico, ordered a burger. I should have looked at the picture of the burger more closely, because if I had, I would have noticed little green specks in the bun. One bite confirmed that the green specks were rosemary, Oh the horrors. I would have just taken the patty out and eaten it because the meat was fine, but JP insisted on my behalf that they remake the burger with a normal bun. They were able to do that without a problem. With so many options in the area (the Central Historic district), I would want to experience them before returning to Toks, but still, Toks is fine for a casual meal.

I have had only two bad meals while in Mexico City. Both have been at this restaurant within our…read morehotel. First chilaquiles for breakfast. Chips were hard and stale - and the entire plate had zero taste. Second a chicken burger - about 2 ounces of chicken on a bun. No frills or flavor. I ordered guacamole - it was pico de gallo with about a quarter avocado dived inside - the worst guacamole I've ever had in my life. We originally went here because there was a 2x1 drink special advertised in our room until 8:00pm - when I asked the server he told me it was 7:45 and he wasn't allowed to process the special because his register shut down 15 minuets prior. Loved this hotel but do yourself a favor - go to any of the several legit and amazing food places on the strip and stay clear of this bogus restaurant.

Another international McDonald's checked off my list! We ordered from Ubereats twice here: one for…read morebreakfast and one for the regular menu. The breakfast was a bit of a miss while the lunch was definitely a hit. I didn't care too much for any of the scrambles and breakfast platters at all. It was mushy and plain even with the salsa and catsup. On the other hand, the specialty burgers were pretty good, especially the Deluxe CBO and Pollo Tocino Crispy. We also tried a Mexican Caramel Frap, which was overly sweet. If there's anything I'd say you must try at McDonald's in Mexico, it's the McPatatas con Queso and Pay de Queso. Do you see the pattern of how obsessed I am about cheese? The mcpatatas are pretty typical potato wedges with a nacho cheese sauce that was simple, yet delicious. But it was the pay de queso or cheese pie that I was absolutely in love with. The pie crust was super crispy while filled with gooey cheese that was on the savory side. I could eat one of these every single day for the rest of my life --dead serious. BEST MCDONALD'S PIE I HAVE HAD! (even better than the taro pie in Hawaii and that was unbelievably amazing too).

Unfortunately we had some difficulty placing our order on their kiosks because the first 2 had orders on them and we couldn't cancel them or get back to the screen to place our own order. But third time was the charm--we finally got the third kiosk to work, places our orders and it didn't take terribly long to get our treats. My husband had a chocolate sundae and my daughter and I split an M&M McFlurry. They hit the spot! The place was bright and clean, and full of patrons. If there weren't so many other places to try, we would go back!

The interior is classic BBQ joint and the staff were all incredibly friendly and they give you BIG cups with lots of ice- Classic 'Murica. We had ribs, pulled pork, baked beans, slaw, potato salad & cornbread (oink oink) and everything was perfect! You can add your own sauce to the meat (and it is warm!!) and the food we ordered was in combos, making it a great way to try multiple items from the menu. The food tasted just like I was in the South! I can't stop talking about this place. I am so happy they are in the neighborhood. The price is right, not cheap-cheap but definitely a good value and MILES better than a certain other area barbecue place that has fallen from my good graces (I'm looking at you 'red pig'). Whether you are a gringo that wants a meal that tastes like home or anyone who loves anything and everything barbecue- this is where you need to go.

The big Mac tasted off from the normal Big Macs I have. Don't know if the meat was rancid or the sauce over aged from not rotating product on deliveries. One has to look into it as these are high volume operations. My best guess is new product deliveries are being placed in front of older product and not being properly rotated until the get to the bottom of the heap and into old stuff. The only other suspicion would be sanitation is very poorly handled and are having crossover contamination is happening.
