She suggested 'Bar Pamplemousse' for dinner and a cocktail and i am glad i made the stop. when i get back this place is in full 2000s RAVE decorations. take me back! They were so kind and the drinks were poppin'! i ended up staying out with the locals and having a great night. I ended up in the Village at karaoke! all i can say is the prices were not issue. the staff were lively and fun! this was all out of the blue on a Monday night and i was treated like royalty! **It didn't hurt i was like to the only person there was alive in 2004* lol! thank you for an amazing kick off! pro tips: you have to pay as you go there are no tabs. they take a card and will convert the dollars tips are tips! park across the block it's a short walk take a ride service... the drinks are strong AF! ultra pro tip: bring an umbrella #iykyk

When you arrive the restaurant is quite big and there's lots of comfortable seating. The menu is huge and there are so many things you can order it's hard to find just one thing because of this my group of 4 decided to get the everything platter which came with brisket ribs pulled pork half a chicken and 3 different sides and sauces. This gave us a really good taste of the classic barbecue options and we had plenty left over to take home. Although most of the food was good the pulled pork and the brisket were the best things on the plate and if your not super hungry getting either one of those items on there own are a great choice! When it came to the sides I was hoping the Mac and cheese would be out of this world but to be honest it fell short on taste the sweet potatoes and grilled veggies are better options in my opinion.

Et la fleur d'oignon était assez savoureuse. la note basse est le résultat d'un service médiocre. ils ont littéralement pris une heure pour apporter mon entrée à ma table. Free beer for check in, food was pretty good although the brisket was a little dry, the ribs were amazing. And the onion blossom was quite tasty. the low rating is the result of poor service. they literally took an hour to bring my entree to my table. P.S- If you are soft the lack of censorship in the music may offend you, as some racial slurs in english have a completely different meaning in french.

Bar George is a stunning contemporary British restaurant located in Montreal's historic Le Mount…read moreStephen. While the restaurant is highly celebrated and located within a Michelin-recognized hotel building, it does not hold a Michelin star of its own. But it is extremely classy. We decided to do lunch instead of dinner and it was a little more our speed, but if very, very attentive waitstaff is not your thing and $200 for lunch I'd skip this spot. We went because it had reviews for amazing beef Wellington and my husband hadn't had any in decades. And we were on vacation so let's go! The food was beautifully plated and service was impeccable inside of an amazingly decorated dining room that looked like a library in a mansion. The meals themselves weren't obscenely expensive but add a glass a wine, bread (it was not included) and coffee and it put us close to $200. But it was a great experience and I had never had beef Wellington - it was melt in your mouth good. Might go again next time we come up from CT.

This is inside a hotel and the lobby/bathrooms are very nice. Would recommend getting a reservation since there are limited tables and it was busy/full even on a Thursday evening. Came here on our first night in Montreal with 2 other girl friends. To start we all got cocktails and I had gotten the Right Word which has gin Tanqueray, liqueur St-Germain, Lillet, lime. It was a nice cocktail but nothing that special. I was a little disappointed that a fancy place like this did not have any unique cocktails. Most things on there were just basic cocktails you can find just with a different name. For our meal, my friend and I decided to get the beef Wellington and halibut and share as we both wanted the beef but also something lighter vs eating that much beef. Both dishes were very delicious but I didn't think they were amazing for the price you pay. Portions are on the smaller side too. To start, we had also ordered the focaccia bread. It comes out with a mound of butter with the Bar George logo on top and some sea salt crystals on a cute black slate board. The focaccia was fluffy and great, especially with the salted butter. It was nice that they cut up the beef Wellington into 2 parts already as we were sharing. Our other friend got the Lobster Risotto and I have to say hers was the best one of the 3. It has a curry flavor to the sauce and was just so flavorful and unique. The risotto soaks up all the flavor so that you have a delicious bit every time. The beef Wellington was recommended at Medium and it was perfect, Juicy and tender but it could have used a sauce on the side or a better side to bring in some more flavors. The halibut was a bit plain as well and needed a sauce. However, both dishes were still delicious. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. He helped answer any questions we had and gave his recommendations. Overall, a very pleasant experience, but just lacking a bit for me due the upscale vibes and pricing. Would still make a lovely meal if you are visiting Toronto.

Even those with more casual interest in beer probably know that DDC makes really great drinks. And yep, they were excellent. I wasn't there to do a long session, so I got a couple tasters, one including Peche Mortal and the other a NEIPA. Two very different styles and both extremely well done. Beyond that, the space had a very old-fashioned look. Really nice wooden fixtures and a very warm, welcoming vibe. The server was also attentive and friendly, but also knew when to let people sit back and enjoy their drinks. You probably don't need me to tell you, but yes, you should go.

He expressed interest in hitting up some breweries, so I did some research and compiled a few we could potentially visit. Brasserie Dieu du Ciel was one of them, and it just so happened we were in its vicinity after our Mile End food tour concluded. That being said, we made our way over. While I am not a beer person myself, I'll have a round or two if I'm with a group, and can appreciate a good brewery. My first impression of Dieu du Ciel was just that - the vibes were on walking in. The space is pretty large - kinda separated into semi- compartmentalized spaces with tables throughout. There's not much decor, but medium-toned woods throughout which gave it a sort of upscale feel. They offer a food menu, but we were just here for drinks. They have a really wide selection of beer - again, I'm no connoisseur, but I could tell that the selection was way more than other breweries I've been to. I ended up getting a cider for the first round and a stout for my second round - both very good. Service was great, and overall we enjoyed our time at Dieu du Ciel. Their selection and comfortable setting made it a standout brewery for me out of the ones I've visited in Montreal - I wouldn't hesitate to return.
