kfc should be renamed the golden fowl due to high cost of product! $10.00 is too much for for three piece dinner with no drink!

I stopped by Little Caesar's Pizza in Lawrenceburg during a recent trip during the holidays. While…read moreI have a weakness for their Detroit-style deep dish pizza (a truly great value for $9), I was surprised by how terribly disorganized this restaurant appeared to be. I stopped by during a very cold evening and there was a line. However, the restaurant was full of employees, so I didn't expect a problem. I was told that my order would be ready in 15 minutes (typical for Little Caesar's locations). So, I walked over to the Kroger grocery store to pick up a few items. When I arrived back at Little Caesar's about fifteen minutes later, the store was filled with people -- both in line and waiting for their order. I assumed that my order would be complete, but no one said anything. I waited for another fifteen minutes...and no one told me that my order was ready. Eventually, someone else in the restaurant told me that I needed to stand in line (again) and let them know that I was there to pick up my order. I began to wait in line (another ten minutes), but some of the people in line allowed me to "cut" because I had been there so long. Finally, I was able to inquire about my order. This was about an hour after I had placed the order and paid for it. The teenager at the counter was friendly enough, but he seemed overwhelmed by the confusing system in place at this restaurant. I received my order...but I could already tell that it was no longer "hot" (let alone "ready"). FOOD: The Detroit-style Deep Dish is always great (but better when fresh)! SERVICE: The workers are friendly, but the management needs to use a system that isn't so dreadfully inefficient (particularly when it comes to serving customers). VALUE: Cheap (very inexpensive) pizza! Who doesn't like pizza? After all: When it's good -- it's very good. When it's bad, it's still good! While I don't like the traditional "hot and ready" pizza at Little Caesar's, I really like the deep dish. VERDICT: I wrestled between giving two or three stars. The strange wait and lack of clarity from the employees) was exceedingly frustrating. I wouldn't go back unless I went at a time that wasn't quite as busy. I hope that someone at the restaurant reads this in order to help improve service for local patrons. 2.5 stars out of 5

Next door is the Sunrise Bakery and across the street is the KFC. As soon as I arrived with my date, who was blind, our waitress, Sarah, didn't miss a beat and as she seated us asked if she can bring a "plate with walls." Neither of us knew what she was talking about and I'm not sure how we answered, but she came back with a large dinner plate which had high sides on it. It was similar to a casserole dish. She said that she has a blind friend and he finds a plate like this easier to use. It was one of the kindest acts either of us had experienced in a very long time. One of the most important things to say about *any* buffet is how fresh the food is. While we were there, cooks brought out freshly-cooked salmon not only once, but twice. That says a lot. The food selection was good, though not very extensive, but it's a very small restaurant. We noticed that while the kitchen was in the rear, there was also a cook preparing some food in the dining room on a hibachi grill. That's a nice touch. While the storefront is not particularly appealing, the inside is lovely, though the wallpaper and artwork could use some updating. That's okay, though... the important thing here is the excellence of the food; it is... and so are the people of this city. As we were ready to leave, our bill was brought to us that said one of the patrons had already paid for our dinner. That was incredibly kind, and a kindness that I will certainly pay forward. If you're traveling through Lawrenceburg, stop by the Chinese Oriental Buffet. You won't be disappointed.

I got Cole slaw Mexican Cornbread and fried Okra, it was delicious and fried perfectly. Hubby got the same except he got fries and coleslaw. He very rarely eats the whole meal and he ate every bite but 2 or 3 of the Cole slaw. He kept saying this is really good. Teresa the cashier was so accommodating and very friendly and out going. Had a smile on her face almost continuously. The manager was very polite and even came to our table to say hello. I decided I couldn't stand not seeing what the fruit tea and the peach lemonade were all about. I asked if I could try a little of the two drinks and was told sure. Oh man I told my hubby I was in trouble after I tried the fruit iced tea, then said he was in trouble when I tried the lemonade and peaches. Well even though I was full I had to order the largest drink. Enter Teresa saying I told you they were good. Now if you want to really be happy, or blown away, I can remember exactly what she said. She told me to do half and half. I was like an Earl Palmer. I don't drink soda and so when I find a place that has a drink I love, it means I will be dipping into the cash fund to enjoy said drink I find. So bottom line is this, if you want a lot of food and it to be very delicious and an iced tea and or a great lemon aide, you have got to try Legends Express on Military in Lawrenceburg. Great food, 2 great drinks and the employees are very friendly. Which in turn means this will be my go to place to eat at a lot.
