This place had me hootin and hollerin this afternoon. The workers made me feel right at home like it was meant to be. I don't know anyone here in Columbia and am just getting to know the area and got recommended. We have a place in my hometown called Hartz Chicken and this rivals it (never thought I'd say it). The entire vibe was giving blue collar worker, families, hard working professionals, my white tail, and all in between. If you haven't gone in here, you're wrong for that. Settling in at a table, I dug in. The cole slaw leaned too far on the sweet side for my taste, though the texture was crisp and fresh. I skipped the dinner roll and the tea, focusing instead on the chicken. It was thoroughly cooked, meaty, and satisfying. Not especially spicy or bold in flavor, but solidly good. This isn't a fancy establishment. The tables and floor may not be spotless, but the food delivers. Best fried chicken I've ever had? No. Still, it was very good, and worth the stop. She was trying to pick it up, and instead of being understanding, the employee at the window became hostile and spoke to her in a very disrespectful manner. The employee made offensive comments that were clearly disrespectful toward African American people. That kind of behavior is completely unacceptable. After eating the food, my sister also became very sick, which raises serious concerns about food safety and handling. This incident has been reported and needs to be taken seriously. Management should address both employee conduct and food safety immediately. I would not recommend eating here. Your own risk! I'm just warning you. This incident will be reported!! This is unacceptable!! This situation may be escalated to local media and shared publicly if not properly addressed."

They finally brought the food out and this time it was correct but they forgot my receipt. When I asked the employee for it, she had the audacity to ask if I was sure I needed it.
