I met with Dr. Brian Lee and I was extremely pleased that he took the time to listen to me and understand my chronic pain. I loved that he didn't just jump to having needles being stuck into my spine but rather focused on less invasive methods before doing that. He took the time to explain any possible future procedures and gave me literature to read up on so that I would be fully informed. Overall, I am SO happy that I found this practice to help relieve my chronic pain.

I recently received pain management treatment from Dr. Shanbhag for a severe thoracic pain issue,…read moreand the experience was exceptional from start to finish. I arrived in extreme discomfort, and Dr. Shanbhag took the time to thoroughly understand my symptoms and recommend a thoughtful, targeted treatment plan. I underwent a combination of trigger point injections, prolotherapy, and PRP therapy. Although Dr. Shanbhag initially anticipated that I might need three to four PRP sessions, the results were incredible--after just one PRP treatment, my pain completely disappeared. The effectiveness of the treatment exceeded all expectations and made a life-changing difference. The office staff is equally impressive: consistently friendly, professional, and efficient. They help create a calm, welcoming environment that makes every visit smooth and stress-free. I highly recommend Dr. Shanbhag for anyone seeking knowledgeable, and truly effective pain management care. The entire team is outstanding.

I must say that he's not the same man who treated me 12 years ago. In fact, I would say that he's become the worst doctor I've ever had the unpleasant experience of interacting with. He is extremely curt and dismissive, condescending, rude, and has the bedside manner of a DMV clerk at 4:55 p.m. He rushed through my appointments like he had a getaway car waiting outside! If you're looking for a doctor with basic human empathy, look elsewhere. He looked at me more as an inconvenience than someone who had a chronic pain issue. He rushed me through all of my appointments, cut me off when I tried to explain my health issue or had questions and ultimately, never helped me anyhow. I've never in my entire life talked to a Doctor (and I've seen plenty) who had such little time for his patients. He is the poster child for "bad doctors who get into the medical profession for the wrong reasons." I kept giving him a chance, hoping he would improve; he did not. I highly, highly recommend that you not even give this guy a chance. If you need a pain-management doctor, go somewhere else or go to a voodoo doctor (you'll be happier). His staff is great, though.

They do not pass out any medication indiscriminately. They do pill counts, drug testing and keep up with current research. The American Medical Association has recently come out in support of pain management at a time when this is a difficult area of medicine to practice. There are many medical conditions that do not respond to alternative pain treatments and sometimes opioid medication becomes necessary for optimal functioning. The current body of research now clearly shows, without any doubt, that pain medication prescription rates and overdose rates have no statistical relationship. None. Zero. Zip. Overdoses resulting in death are almost always a result of illicit opioids like heroin & illegal fentanyl, polysubstance use and occasionally diversion of prescription medication used by someone it was not prescribed to. This is typically a result of poverty, hopelessness, lack of employment opportunities, etc. If we hope to combat overdose rates in our state, we need to start fixing the problem rather than hurting patients in need. I am happy to cite the research for all my claims. I can be reached at rebecca0874@gmail.com It is important to note that over the counter Tylenol kills more people each year than opioids but it's still sold without a prescription. Alcohol & tobacco also kill significant numbers of people and our country largely ignores that. It is important that we support good doctors who are doing their best to help patients with a real medical needs. Comfort and Wellness Center does their job well in a difficult time. We need to protect the sanctity of the doctor patient relationship.
