I arrived in extreme discomfort, and Dr. Shanbhag took the time to thoroughly understand my symptoms and recommend a thoughtful, targeted treatment plan. I underwent a combination of trigger point injections, prolotherapy, and PRP therapy. Although Dr. Shanbhag initially anticipated that I might need three to four PRP sessions, the results were incredible--after just one PRP treatment, my pain completely disappeared. The effectiveness of the treatment exceeded all expectations and made a life-changing difference. The office staff is equally impressive: consistently friendly, professional, and efficient. They help create a calm, welcoming environment that makes every visit smooth and stress-free. I highly recommend Dr. Shanbhag for anyone seeking knowledgeable, and truly effective pain management care. The entire team is outstanding.

You have to submit a message via the portal which could take days before a response and even then, I had to keep requesting the same thing multiple times because the physician did not READ and properly address my message; it took 12 days to finally resolve, but the issue was still not properly resolved. Calling only connects to the call center that has to send a message to the staff and wait for a response. The staff, to include the physician, have been clueless AND dismissive of the Dept. of Labor (DOL) protocol that MUST be followed for approval. Infuriating experience and a waste of valuable time. IF this practice is going to accept DOL patients, at the very least act like you give a damn and ensure that you follow DOL's protocol. By not doing so, you are not helping DOL patients. :-( If you do not know without a doubt what that protocol is, contact DOL to find out. It is that simple. The DOL protocol is not the issue, people paying attention and following the protocol are the issue.

I applied to be a medical biller at the Stafford, VA. office of Advanced Spine and Pain. Soon…read moreafter, I was contacted by Aura Ionita, the Practice Administrator, for a virtual interview. We scheduled a half-hour interview for August 19, 2022 at 11 a.m. On the day of the interview, not only did Ms. Ionita show up late, but towards the end of our virtual meeting she suddenly asked me to come to the office in person to "meet the team." I had to take my mother to the pharmacy in Dumfries and this was a surprise request, but I acquiesced as I did not want to seem inflexible and I live up the road from the office. I told Ms. Ionita I could not stay long and the reason why and she agreed. As requested, I re-arranged my day and showed up to the office. Ms. Ionita took me to the billing office where I met the staff and watched one of them demonstrate the billing software. I was polite, paid attention, asked appropriate questions and dressed professionally. When we were finished, Ms. Ionita said she would "let [me] know next week." 24 hours later, I received an email from Indeed, the job search engine through which I applied for the position, saying that Advanced Spine and Pain had rejected my job application. If Advanced Spine and Pain did not wish to have me as an employee, they could have simply sent a rejection without wasting my time with an impromptu in-person visit request that inconvenienced me and my family. Forcing last minute requests on a prospective employee, expecting them to meet that request without prior notice or discussion of their availability and then yanking away the potential job after the applicant has performed their due diligence to rise to the occasion is not only unprofessional, but sadistically unkind. If this is how Advanced Spine and Pain treats prospective employees, then I am not surprised by the negative reviews left on here by some of their patients.

Aside from his professional acumen, he is a great person and Patriot. I live in another state but would drive 10 hours, without reservations or hesitation, for Dr Greene's medical care. They do not pass out any medication indiscriminately. They do pill counts, drug testing and keep up with current research. The American Medical Association has recently come out in support of pain management at a time when this is a difficult area of medicine to practice. There are many medical conditions that do not respond to alternative pain treatments and sometimes opioid medication becomes necessary for optimal functioning. The current body of research now clearly shows, without any doubt, that pain medication prescription rates and overdose rates have no statistical relationship. None. Zero. Zip. Overdoses resulting in death are almost always a result of illicit opioids like heroin & illegal fentanyl, polysubstance use and occasionally diversion of prescription medication used by someone it was not prescribed to. This is typically a result of poverty, hopelessness, lack of employment opportunities, etc. If we hope to combat overdose rates in our state, we need to start fixing the problem rather than hurting patients in need. I am happy to cite the research for all my claims. I can be reached at rebecca0874@gmail.com It is important to note that over the counter Tylenol kills more people each year than opioids but it's still sold without a prescription. Alcohol & tobacco also kill significant numbers of people and our country largely ignores that. It is important that we support good doctors who are doing their best to help patients with a real medical needs. Comfort and Wellness Center does their job well in a difficult time. We need to protect the sanctity of the doctor patient relationship.
