Nonsense insults were hurled at me the entire time. He said that he could "kick my ass", and threatened to throw a TV down the stairs at me (see picture 2!). Then, when the police arrived, he told them I had assaulted him. I captured the entire interaction on video and was quickly able to prove him wrong. A pro and a con for KD Engineering…read more Pro: When my partner spilled coffee on my laptop and it died, they were able to retrieve everything from the hard drive, and were able to get the computer working again. The laptop lasted about 5 more months after the accident. They warned me that once liquid is inside the computer that it would eventually die, but I was surprised at how long it lasted before finally shuffling off its mortal coil. Con: The keyboard came back slightly warped from the drying process, and one of the keys was missing!

I was unfortunate enough to spill sparkling raspberry juice on my laptop the other day. It went all over the keyboard, dripped down onto the table, and even seeped under my computer. I left my laptop upside-down and open (in a ^ shape) on a towel to drip the excess liquid for 3 days before calling K D Engineering. He suggested I should have brought it in sooner, but with his experience with all kinds of liquid spills he was confident he could still help. After bringing it in, he opened up the computer and cleaned away any dried juice with an alcohol cleanser, which solved 99% of my problems. For the last 1% he noticed a broken piece of plastic in my computer that was the cause of my other usb port not working for years! He had my computer back in working shape in a matter of a 2 days and I am very happy with the results! When discussing the price, they were more than reasonable. They also were careful to make sure I was comfortable with the quoted amount and I definitely felt I was given a fair price. The store may be small, but they saved my computer and I am incredibly grateful. My computer was returned to me in complete working order with no missing or broken pieces.
