My first appointment with Dr. Berman was wonderful. I would have recommended him to everyone that I…read morelove. My appointment, however, was a far cry different. He has been out of town and I was going to the hospital and to a walk in clinic. I was being eaten alive by some sort of bug but didn't know what it was. I had taken samples to the hospital and the walk in clinic and they both recommended that I go to my dermatologist for follow up and identification. When Dr Berman returned to town I made an appointment as I had to have a second treatment the hospital as the hospital recommended. Dr. Berman practically threw me out of good office, never examined me, and wrote it off to psychosis. I began living in my car although I paid $1600 a month for my studio and because I moved to my car I moved the BED BUGS to my car. I've never been able to get them out of my car, I abandoned my home because I couldn't afford the $1200 for the tent on my place, and I had to move after landlord $7k in advance. GRANTED my landlord was a Scumbag, no doubt about that, BUT, had Dr Berman bothered to actually listen to me rather than berate me and call me a psycho I would have been able to handle it before it got out of control. NOT the nice man he appears to be, at all. Well, turns out I had bed bugs.

Dr. Berman treated me with kindness and respect even while telling me that the lesion on my leg was…read morefrom my constant worrying/picking at it. He removed it completely without one second of pain on my part. He is chatty but I found that relaxing and reassuring. I felt very comfortable with him and his staff.

He is caring, knowledgeable, explains everything in details and everything is opened in front of you. Sheila, Dr. Peterson's newest addition, is absolutely wonderful, her methods are so gentle. You can tell she's very experienced, her recommendations are on point and I didn't experience any bruising. I fell in love with her gentle and very capable hands. That pair of beauty experts are a must try!

BEWARE! I'm sure there are hundreds of women who have had…read morepositive experiences with Dr. Peterson, as he came recommended by almost everyone I asked. I honestly don't know why! He was aloof and seemed uncaring at almost every visit, but he was "the best on the island," so I went with him As my OB. About 2 months before my due date, I developed a hard spot in my breast. I told Dr. Peterson about it and his reply was "It's your milk coming in." He didn't look at the lump or even touch it! As a first time mom, I figured the "best doctor" knew what he was talking about. At each consequent visit for 2 months, I mentioned it to the doctor and nurse, and always got the same response. A few weeks before giving birth, I awoke with a terrible pain in my side. After a visit from EMS, I decided to forego the ER (pain had subsided) and call Dr. Peterson the next day. I was told it was the positioning of the baby. Fast forward... I gave birth, but still had the lump in my breast and pain in my side. For 2 days, the pain continued until at the urging of the neonatal nurse, an ultrasound was ordered. After a battery of scans, it was discovered that the lump in my breast was breast cancer that had metastasized to my liver, spine, and hip. The only thing I can remember Dr. Peterson (who became very caring at that point) saying was "Pregnant women don't get cancer." over and over. Well obviously they do, and after doing research, I read 1 in 3000 are diagnosed. It would've taken a few minutes, if not seconds, to check the lump. I don't know what would have been done differently and how it would have affected my pregnancy, but I do think that had Dr. Peterson showed even a little bit of concern, the cancer could have been found earlier and perhaps not have spread. Over a year later, I am still undergoing treatment for the cancer that has now spread to my brain. I realize mine is a special case that most women will not experience, but if you are looking for a doctor who will listen to and respond to your concerns, seek another doctor!
