I just switched my personal and business accounts over to Flatirons Bank after being with one of…read morethe big banks for years. What a huge difference it makes banking locally! Feeling part of a community is important to me, and I always disliked the coldness of big banks. They never got to know me as a person, they knew nothing about my business vision, and didn't care to ask. The wonderful people at Flatirons Bank will make you feel welcome in a way that only a small community bank can. It's easy to contact them when you need something, things get resolved immediately, and they truly care about you. Their products and services are fantastic as well! There's nothing I dislike about this bank. If you can't say that about your bank, it's time for you to switch, too! :)

The young man who "helped" me let me know that the person who I needed to talk with had just left. I said no problem. And was thinking he would he facilitate connecting with them ...instead he kept asking me personal questions about my business and the amount I wanted to barrow without any privacy or rapport building. I let him know I'd be happy to share those details with the person who could help me but he ignored my expressed boundary and kept asking... no eye contact, no acknowledgment of the boundary I had just communicated, no actual professional understanding of business. Then to top it off, the person he said would call me in 30 minutes never called! This bank may have been great 7 years ago but things have changed!

I've never liked banking with Chase until last week when a drive through teller named Rachel went…read moreabove and beyond to help me with a work transaction. I've never felt more catered to. I had driven to Wells Fargo (I do not bank with them) to try and cash a check written from a Wells Fargo business account. Despite the fact my employer HAS an account with them and the check was for work, they were unwilling to help me and wanted to charge me fees. On a long shot I tried Chase, knowing I did not have enough money in my bank account to cover the check. Rachel went above and beyond, checking with her supervisor if it would be okay to honor the check. She was kind and courteous of the situation. I had previously considered closing down my Chase account to open up an account with a credit union, but finding out that I had such an awesome team of tellers near my house has completely changed my mind.

I opened both checking and savings accounts at the Chase branch at 1111 S Hover St, Longmont, CO…read moreabout three months ago under a promotion that promised $900 in total bonuses for meeting deposit and balance requirements. I followed every step exactly -- deposited the required amounts, kept the balances for the full period, and confirmed eligibility with staff. Despite this, Chase only paid $300 of the promised amount. I've made multiple attempts to get the issue corrected, both through the branch and Chase's customer service. Each time I've been ignored or given vague explanations. This branch was happy to take my deposits but has shown no interest in honoring their own promotional terms or providing clear communication. Unless Chase resolves this, I cannot recommend opening an account here.

Which mean once I have juggled this month and found a replacement account elsewhere I will be demanding a cashiers cheque for my balances.

When I need something done besides just cashing a check or something of that nature, I always try to deal with her. She helped me fill out the papers when I was becoming a Notary and also was very helpful when I opened my savings account because I did not have the minimum balance in hand and she waived it for six months. And even though I am hardly ever there, she always says, "Hi, Ian" as soon as I walk in. The rest of the staff here is also very friendly and I have never had a negative experience. I absolutely love the way that their checking accounts work. It is pretty straightforward: there are no confusing fees and you get to use any ATM for free, which is really my favorite thing about this bank. They only have one ATM and I am pretty sure it is only accessible during normal business hours, so I do not think that it would be very practical to bank here if they did not refund the fees for other bank's ATM machines. I wish they had more lines of credit available to people who are trying to build their credit. Also, their online banking requires you to change your password fairly often and for some reason I get locked out after I change it even though I know I have the correct password. These are the only two things I do not like about Flatirons and they are both somewhat minor.
