I love wine and I wanted to love this place but... first when we walked in we were greeted or anything. I had to approach the lady working to get her attention. We had an amazing groupon which I was glad about.. for about $45 it included two tastings, a bottle of wine, two wine glasses, two wine pouches, and a travel wine opener (not a bad deal at all) especially since the bottles of wine start at about $30 per bottle. During our tasting we each were able to pick 5 wines, many of the drier wines are not included in the tastings. None of which any of us really cared for at all. After we were done tasting just 5 wines (small pours) we asked if we could pay for additional tasting and were given the excuse that they couldn't allow that because of the strict liquor license (I call BS) but that we could return the following day to try more. Overall, customer service was not great at all. She warmed up a little as we were there longer but first impressions are lasting impressions. I saw the word winery, of course I had to go in. And I admit I'm kinda a wine snob. There is nothing in the store made with grapes, everything comes from tropical and local fruits. So to me all the selections seemed sweet. And the port I tried just didn't have that warm caramel flavor. But of course the hubby found one he liked, he does the sicky sweet wines. We got the Groupon when we went here. The place is extremely clean and well organized. In the Groupon we could try up to five points each which we did. Wind up going to wineries and have been to several across the country. The reason why I gave this four out of five stars is that I thought the wine was a little water down. I also found the wine to be extremely sweet. I do like a sweet wine, but this was a bit much even for me. I would recommend the key lime and the category five hurricane wines. It is a neat place to check out and I would recommend going by for a tasting since it may be your thing. It just wasn't mine. read more

We did it right! Rented scooters and rode over to Key West Winery! This Winery is good for those who are open minded and mindful of the ingredients the state and Caribbean has to offer. That being said, don't expect aged fine barrel red wines! Enjoy it for what it is. Local fruits and vegetables native to Florida and its waters offers a different set of varietal wines. Cute shop with some great unique Wine fruit flavors like Key Lime, Tomato, Mango, Watermelon, Guava, and many more, along with some interesting fruit flavored Sparking wine and also Ports. They advertise Wine Tastings, which is misleading because the manager lady who runs the shop is the rudest most unwelcoming person I have ever encountered. My sweet husband decided to kill her with kindness after she snapped at us right off the bat for asking if we could try the Key Lime wine and she said NO and to go look at the 40+ wines they have and THEN make a decision as to what to try, so I did and then I asked if I could try the Tomato wine, to which she snapped again and asked why I wanted to try it, I said because it sounds interesting and she said she didn't want to serve it if its interesting because I will probably not buy it, so we got the impression that she thought we just wanted to try the wine and not buy anything so my husband bought several bottles to her to ease up, that didn't help either and she snapped at us some more for asking a few other questions about the sparking and port wines. I wanted to leave and not buy anything because of the way she treated us, but my husband purchased a few bottles despite the lady's nasty attitude, she has zero customer skills, for the remainder of our trip we referred to her as the Wine Nazi. read more

Loved our little visit to the Key West winery! I bought a Groupon and we had two tastings of five wines each and also got to take home two little wine pouches, a corkscrew, two souvenir glasses, AND a bottle of wine. So definitely look into that if you decide to go. Husband's fave was the hurricane. My favorite was the Cranberry. It basically tastes like Ocean Spray cranberry juice. So yum. The gift shop looked really cute but we already bought to much to bring anything else home. Definitely stop in here to try something different--all they have is fruit wines. I kind of wish we could go in and sit awhile with a glass but they don't have anything like this. It's a place you go in for 15 minutes and then leave. read more

Had a really good time at the Key West Winery. The ladies working in this cute little shop are so friendly and talkative. They are more than happy to explain the wines and how they are made. They have a little of everything, gourmet gifts and fun little gadgets. The wine display room is fun to wander through reading the wines, ratings and flavors. They follow the wine making process, all but one are made without grapes, it is made from various fruits. Raspberry, Mango, Key Lime, Passion fruit, Orange and the list goes on. They are happy to let you taste any flavor you would like. I chose the Key Lime, Mango and Passion. While all were very refreshing and delicious, I'm just not a huge fan of sweet wine. I can tell you I loved the Key Lime, it was sweet with a bit of tartness. I can picture it with a nice grilled Caribbean style Chicken in the summer, served cold on a very hot day. I spent about an hour tasting, talking and visiting with the employees. Great job Key West Winery, you added another level of ambiance to a fun little town. They will ship the wine to your home if in the US, I believe it is a 2 bottle minimum for shipping and about $20 to ship those 2 bottles. read more

For a fun wine tasting while in Key West, visit this place. The hostess was a lot of fun and the wine is definitely deceiving. No grapes. All fruit. I found a couple of dry wines I liked but most sweet or semi-sweet. That said, it's still fun to taste. Hard to believe there are no grapes. I don't know if this is a chain or just a copy of basically the same shop in St Augustine (which has also gone downhill a bit in the last few years). The Key West Winery offers a lot of wines from all types of fruits, making for really interesting flavors and mixes. They also offer slushie mixes and some out of the box things that are a bit out there from the traditional wine tasting experience. The wines themselves are good and we have regularly bought and enjoyed them in the past. Only 2-stars though because in this trip we actually ended up just walking out after doing a quick lap around the store because the employee was on the phone ignoring customers in the store. We tried to approach her to ask about a tasting and was basically ignored, along with several others. Since we had tried the wines before we decided to just leave as we weren't really missing out on anything we hadn't tried before. Good wine, not so great atmosphere. read more

Stopped in on a whim and tried the slushee, yummy! Made plans to stop back in when it opened the next day to get another after we completed the SoMo Half Marathon. We finished earlier than 10am, which was opening time. Went to grab a bite to eat and came back. The place did not open at 10 am. Waited around, not open at 10:30. Someone was inside though. Went around to the door on the courtyard side of things. Met the woman coming out. She said they 'were closed. At least until the race was over, give me 30-40 minutes'. Very bummed because we didn't have another 30-40 minutes to spare. Too bad, would have not only but two slushees, but probably another bottle of wine. Might want to put a sign on the door letting people know your hours are going to be something other than what is posted. read more

This place is really small and dainty. The reason it gets five stars isn't because its the best wine I've ever had, or because the prices are unbelievable.. its the service. There are the most adorable and helpful ladies working here! From the moment we set foot inside we were greeted and taken care of with kitten mittens. Firs, we were directed over to where all the wine's were displayed. There were little cards in front of each bottle explaining what was inside and how it was made, along with all of the medals it has won and the pricing. The employees encouraged us to pick out as many as we wanted to try and then personally gave us tastings and explained where the fruits came from, how long it takes to make it, what foods she suggests would go with a particular wine.. anything you can think of. And will answer any and all questions. Absolutely loved it. The wine is pretty similar to the wine at the Schnebley's Winery in The Redlands. We brought home a bottle of the Raspberry wine.. it is absolutely delicious. There were a couple of other bottles that I liked also but we both just fell in love with the Raspberry. The wines are priced between $21-$25.. depending on how popular it is and how many awards it has won. They also have personalized glasses that are $6.75.. we took home a couple. After all the personal attention the employees gave us, they exceeded it by giving us several coupons for the restaurants in the area and one of he ladies even offered her parking space to us because she didn't bring her car to work today so we wouldn't have to pay for parking. So adorable. I would really recommend everyone to stop in if you're in Key West, not only is it always interesting to try new wines.. but the ladies that work here are unbelievably helpful and just a pleasure to be around. read more

I recently visited this location as part of my visit to the Keys for my birthday. Myself and three of my friends purchased a Groupon to use. Upon walking in we were met by Michelle who was fanning herself and stated the air conditioner broke. We inquired about using the Groupon to which she quickly gave us details on what to do, pointing occasionally from behind the register. Due to the rush job in giving us directions we constantly had to keep asking questions and she became very frustrated. As we were sampling the lack luster wine, my friends and I asked for something to cleanse our palette with in between sips. Michelle stated that her manager does not allow it. Due to this, and the fact that each bottle we sampled tasted like medicine, we had to have her pour out each one. She then stated her manager would not want her to be doing that as well. Anything we asked about she stated her manager would not want her to be doing it. In all, this deal was not worth it. The presentation was very disorganized and rushed as it was obvious Michelle did not want to be there as evidenced by her sarcasm towards us the entire time. I came here as a recommendation as I wasn't as pleased as I had hoped. I called ahead of time to find out what was the last time to arrive for a wine tasting. I was told 5:30 p.m. and I arrived 10 minutes before that. I was greeted with "You're late". I was really shocked to be greeted in that manner. However, I had already purchased a Groupon for a wine tasting and just ignored the attitude. After a while the person hosting changed their demeanor and we ended up finishing 10 minutes before closing. She was very descriptive when talking about the wines, and she was fun to talk to. I came in for a tasting and she was so nice to my friends and I. We each got to pick out a wine, and they were divine. This brings me to the second reason why the winery was so wonderful. The wines are so tasty, and if you get one, I would suggest either the Hurricane or Florida Fever. These two are my favorites because they are fruity, which I love. Came here to do a wine tasting, left with 4 bottles (well 2 were my mom's) and then came back a few days later for 4 more. My mom and I each did a tasting, 6 wines each so we were feeling pretty great after we left. Donna was super helpful and super knowledgeable. I brought back 3 bottles of the key lime wine, 2 were gifts, 1 bottle of raspberry, and two bottles of their wine smoothie mix, one lime and one raspberry. Those probably will never see wine but tequila, Donna's recommendation. I tried the lime mix with no booze (boo) in the shop and it was sooooo good and very refreshing. All 6 bottles fix in my suitcase and made it back all in one piece. If you are in Key West stop in and visit and check it out. We stopped in Key West on a cruise on 01/02/14. We found her shop by accident (I love wineries) and we were estatic we did! This shop was welcoming and beautiful. It had a great range of unique gifts and fruit wines, I purchased the blueberry wine and a hanging elephant head . Donna was helpful and attentive, she had a small rush while we were there but we couldn't tell that we weren't her only customers. She allowed us to try the wines we liked and she took our feedback very well. Her customer service was top-notch and I will bee line to her store the next time I am in Key West. Not at all what I was expecting, for a "winery". This is pretty much just a store. HOWEVER...the wines are so different and fun, and you can try as many as you want. The guy working was so helpful and happy to give us sample after sample. We left with a bottle of Key Lime Wine and Mango Wine...not my normal taste, but again, different and fun. Definitely worth checking out while in Key West! Fruit Wines!! While nobody had mentioned this place to us as a must visit, in a conversation with a local we noticed we had in fact done done/seen all Key West had to offer. The local went into detail on what wines we should try, so we planned to stop in for some free samples the next day. We walked in and did not get a welcomed feeling at all, as if there OK with having an empty store; perhaps many people go in for just free sampling and don't buy, I am not sure, but either way its unacceptable. Since Key West is so lay back and we were interested in taking some wines back home with us, we didn't spend too much thought on all this. We started out sampling the most popular wines as well as the ones we chose while looking at their wide selection. While some were just OK, there were a few we had to purchase, like the Watermelon and Mango as well as a darker wine, Blackberry Gold. The store offers all kinds of accessories as well as the fruit wines and as mentioned before it is a must visit while in Key West. Since our purchase we have had several guests over who have tried the fruit wines; we served the Watermelon wine in sort of a sangria setting with real pieces of Watermelon and people were amazed at how good the wine tasted, how strong it actually is and how delicious the watermelon tastes after being soaked in Watermelon wine. read more

We visited on 8/26 around 3:40pm, I had been excited to come to this winery since we landed . However the excitement was quickly diminished when we walk in the door. The older lady was giving instructions to another couple as to how their groupon worked and she was instructing the newer employee I assume , what the grouponers weren't allowed . She was referring to grouponers as if it was the most disgusting thing to her right in front of said "grouponers". It made me feel uncomfortable so I could only imagine how they were feeling. I begin to read the sign on the black board and she turns her attention me and says what do you need dont read the sign ask me ! No hello welcome in just very rude and off putting ...and I say well I'm not sure just walked in..she then tells me to read the board! Which just to seconds ago, she told me to stop doing ? I knew at that point I wasn't tasting or buying anything so we looked around the store for minute or so and all you could hear was the older lady fussing and belittling the newer employee. I had enough and walked toward the door and she called out you guys good..my husband responded yes and we left out the door. Just an awful experience I have had better treatment at McDonald's. The wife and I were visiting Key West for the first time last year and ran across this lil joint. Granted I'm not a wine connoisseur, but all the different wines available here were delish! The best part about this spot was the freakin Capri sun like juice boxes filled with wine that you could sip while exploring the isle! Never experienced that before, it was glorious! This has fruit wine, since i am from CA i am used to grape wines. The fruit wines are really sweet. It is a little expensive, as we had some shipped home. But it is worth it. The other review is right, It feels more like a store than a winery, but you can sample the wine before you buy it. The lady that worked there was very nice and helpful. we have been here before and I am sure we will be back. Try it, you will like it. We did order wine and had it shipped home. Let me start by saying I've been to this winery several times before. I've always had a good experience with the older gentleman. All three other times I've been there I've sampled wines, enjoyed fun conversations and spend a good bit of money. The sweet blueberry is one of my favorite wines and I always ship several bottles home. Today I walked in and was shocked. The woman behind the counter was unbelievably rude. She looked at me like I wasn't worth wasting her time on. She gave me short rude answers and I left before I even sampled wines. Went here for a wine tasting because of a deal on Living Social. Nice shop with a large selection of fruit-based wines. The pours for the tastings were rather small. Maybe adequate for a true wine tasting but I would have preferred a little more in the glass. They were kind of busy and getting close to closing so maybe a bit rushed. My husband and I came here on our anniversary as a fun experience. We bought the tasting package on Groupon and had a wonderful time. The day we came in the owner was working and she was the one who helped us out and hosted the tasting. She was very knowledgeable and explained each wine we were tasting perfectly and even told us different ways we could use the wines. At one point in the middle of our tasting there was a customer who seemed to misunderstand the owner's instructions. She became very upset and started yelling at the owner. We all kind of stared at the the woman in confusion as she stormed out with her husband. The owner quickly recovered and continued the tasting. Despite this crazy interruption this experience was wonderful and we look forward to coming back on our next trip down. The wine is amazing and the adult juice(wine) pouches were so cool. read more
