I have been going to Carly for almost 2 months now. As it turns out, because I do foolish things…read morelike Tough Mudder and boot camp style workouts, I have a slipped disc in my back. So, I have started getting massages to lessen the muscle tension. Now that you know all about my problems, let me tell you why Carly is the absolute best massage therapist out there. I found her COMPLETELY by accident on Groupon. It was $29 for 60 minutes. GET OUT! She had great reviews on Groupon so I thought I should give it a try. In massage prices, $29 is practically free. So, I called to set up my appointment with her for a Monday night. When I arrived, it was hard to find her suite. It turns out that a place of worship next to her had been burned down, creating a block in the parking lot. So, after nearly getting lost and having to call Carly, I found the place. Incidentally, she was pretty patient with me as I am very directionally challenged. We went inside and we talked about my problem areas. Then, she allowed me to use the restroom and get comfortable. I laid down on the heated table, which was so soothing. She then came in and began my massage. Over the past 4-5 visits, she and I have worked together to get my trouble spots fixed. It can be painful, honestly, because she has to put a lot of pressure on certain joints. To make it worse, my body is so messed up from all the physical activity, a couple of serious car accidents, etc. So, she and I have had some moments where I considered taking her off my Christmas card list. All in the name of wellness, though. And afterward, I feel 100 times better. My body is usually sore but she gives me ways to feel better. I even have exercises I do at home in between visits to speed along my process. I will continue to go to Carly, not only because I feel better after I go but also because I have seen my athletic performance increase. She always massages for the entire hour and doesn't charge extra for enhancements. If we need hot stones, certain oils, mint joint cream or anything else, it's all included in her price. So, I don't spend much time worrying about what she will do. That is nice. Carly also has a loyalty program. After five massages, you get one free. And if you refer others, you get loyalty points as well. I recommend that if you workout a lot, that you see her. She will change your life.

I was recommended to Carly by a friend of mine who had seen her a handful of times and I decided it…read morewas finally time I had a massage since I had been doing my boot camp (Camp Gladiator) 4-5 days a week for about the past year. The scheduling process with Carly was very simply. You can either call or text her and she usually responds within the hour or sooner depending on whether she is with a client or not. Also Carly sometimes has her massages on group for $29 for 60 minutes which is a super sweet deal but normally her massages cost $60 for 60 minutes. My massage was scheduled for this past Saturday and this was my first massage ever so I am pretty bias when I say this but it was the best massage ever! I arrived about 5-10 minutes early incase of any paperwork and there was a very simple form that asked a few questions front in back basically about your health then once I finished Carly took me back to her room. Just FYI if you need to potty before your massage no worries there is a restroom as I had to use it. Then once you go back into the room Carly just goes over quickly what she will be doing and areas she focuses on then she steps out of the room so you can strip down to just your underwear (ladies no bra since it's easier for her to massage your back and shoulder area) then once you undress you get under the sheets/blankets on the massage table which can I just add felt like lotion haha. Then once Carly gives a little knock and you indicate that you are ready she comes in and starts the massage. Carly's massage was fantastic! I love 1) that she uses oils/lotions and does not charge you extra for them along with warm towels/stones which are only used for problem areas or if Carly feels it is necessary to use them. 2) she works well on problem areas. My shoulders have been and issue and Carly did spend a good amount on them but also on my entire body overall. 3) At the end of the massage you can ask Carly questions regarding problem areas you thought you had and prepare her to blow your mind with areas that are the actually problems. After the massage Carly allows you to change back into your clothes and explains that it is a good idea to take it slow when getting off the table as your body might feel like it's in a different state. Having never had a massage before I can say my body felt absolutely euphoric and for a few hours I could not stop ranting and raving to my husband and my friend that recommended me how much I need Carly in my life now! Carly also makes sure to give you a body of water, a recommendation of how much she thinks you need to visit, as well as explaining problem areas. I must say Carly is very professional and you can tell that she really loves her job and is great at what she does! Overall this was the best massage I had ever had (I know biased here) and I will absolutely be back!

SERIOUSLY?! My boyfriend got me a massage here for Christmas and I only recently got around to use…read moreit. When I looked up Massage 4 U, it looked like there was a legit business named with actual reviews and then this one, with nothing. So being who I am and trusting Yelp, I did not like the signs. The lady on the phone was extremely unprofessional in the few times I called her prior to the massage. Phone call 1: (very drowsy) "can you call back in two days?" (seriously?!), phone call 2: "oh sure we can do a massage, what time, well 11 is better for me" (what the hell?!), and the morning of, phone call 3: "can you come in around 12, I have some things to do, great thanks" (OMG, WTH?!). I knew driving to this massage that I was in for the worst massage of my life and my boyfriend urged me to not go, but I felt bad since he'd paid for the massage and it felt like such a waste. In I walk to a business building where I'm greeted by some old, clown-faced woman dressed in a spaghetti strap top (which she had no business wearing) and shorts. OMG, this is my masseuse?! What the hell happened to professionalism?! She told me to walk to her office and she'd be there momentarily. I walked into her "office" and it was hideous: random objects strewn around, it looked like maybe she lived here too. The massage room was even worse and I'm pretty sure she uses sheets she bought from a thrift store that haven't been properly washed because they smell like butt. I was disgusted. Once again, I SHOULD HAVE LEFT. The massage was horrible. The masseuse was sucking on lozenges the entire time and of course she was sick (which I got later), and she seemed like she had no FREAKING CLUE WHAT SHE WAS DOING. She kept doing this weird joint jerking thing which I don't trust anyone but my chiropractor to do but she kept saying she has her "own, unique" way of doing things. Yeah right, lady. Massages are supposed to help relieve muscular stress, assist in the lessening of muscle knots, and just be gosh darn relaxing!!!! This massage was no where close to this standard. I don't know how she finds customers but I'm hoping she's soon out of business because she clearly is scary and in all the years of receiving massages (which is like over 2 decades), she needs some masseuse health check to come in and review the crap out of her. DON'T GO. DON'T GO. DON'T GO. This is not the Massage 4 U, you are thinking of.

I am a massage therapist who needed a good massage and Darla, the owner, delivered. What the heck…read morethe other person was ranting about I don't know. I was handled professionally from the beginning and got a same day appointment which is not easy in this business. Most folks don't realize that good therapists have many customers in various locations and scheduling appointments takes some flexibility. Not too mention many customers are flaky and don't show up when they say they will.....and guess what, we don't get paid when we show up and you don't. Anyway, the massage office is comfortable and relaxed. I like to talk as I see this as part of the therapy. Darla worked around my chatter and asked me all the time if I was feeling better and if I wanted this or that, heat or pressure or so forth. She is caring and skilled. I for one will be going to her again, as I said being a therapist myself, she understands where I hurt. I feel very safe with Darla and she offered me a wealth of information regarding supplements and vitamins to improve my overall condition.

That's why I'm so glad I found Rebecca at Healing Haus. Her practice is tucked away at Urban Offices off Fredericksburg Rd in Medical Center. It's a cozy little place. Clean, bright, welcoming. Rebecca is also a welcoming and warm massage therapist with about two decades of professional experience. She knows what she's doing and booking an appointment was almost effortless not to mention she is running a weekday special right now that can't be beat. As I mentioned, I frequently overdo it and injure my back. When I visited Healing Haus, I had been having intense mid-back pain for about a week and a half. Rebecca knew where to focus her work. It was a deep massage, so not entirely comfortable, but still relaxing and Rebecca is insightful and we had a pleasant conversation while she worked on my back. She had mentioned that she also does cupping and TENS as well as health coaching, so it's an all around holistic mind-and-body practice. By the next morning, my back was feeling much better, and I was back to work. I will definitely be calling her up next time I hurt myself!
