Sunlight Studios is a perfect rehearsal space!…read more The rooms are spacious and impeccably clean and the staff is kind and helpful. They provide chairs/music stands/tables as needed. There's a nice waiting area by the front desk and the bathrooms are clean and comfortable. The midtown location is a great central meeting spot, especially when you have cast members flung across all boroughs. Pricing is extremely reasonable compared to similar studios in the area. Also, there was another rehearsal going on next door to ours, and we couldn't hear each other at all. Sunlight feels very safe in terms of Covid-19 guidelines: right now everyone is required to wear a mask in public spaces, and they check vaccine verification at the front desk. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a space to hold a rehearsal or class.

It is huge and also has amazing red brick walls, some are colored yellow too. It was perfect location for a production that needs that rustic feeling, which was what I had been looking for. The staff were extremely accommodating and really went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Whilst we were not able to fully close the doors at all times, this was explained prior to the production, so we were fully aware and compliant, since we noticed it has to do with fire security and building management policies. They provided 2 PAs at each of the entrances to make sure that no one outside of the production came into the room. The two boys proved to be extremely helpful with set up and tear down too! In the end we got the job done beautifully and the clients were very happy. Will definitely be coming back here to shoot.

There is virtually no parking which makes loading and unloading equipment extra stressful since the driver has expressed multiple times that e feared NYPD would tie his vehicle. They have a fridge and kitchen area stocked with sodas and other snacks that were offered complimentary. I'm not sure what it cost to rent this place but it's definitely one of the nicer studios I've worked in.

I've played a dozen shows and seen a dozen more at the stage at King Killer and I have a blast EVERY SINGLE TIME! It is one of the funnest places to play at in the city. To Greg who leaves one star: Come on dude. Shows get cancelled, that's life. I've never had a show cancelled at KK. Actually, KK offered to host a show of mine when another venue cancelled last minute and it saved us. How sweet is that? Also, 2 weeks seems like a pretty fair amount of time to cancel and I'm sure they weren't dicks about it because they seem like pretty nice guys. If you're a musician looking for a rehearsal space definitely look into this place. That's just mean. Anyway, I've used the studio as an event space and photo studio more than a few times in the past few years and am planning an event there in the upcoming weeks. I love the staff here. Everyone is beyond friendly and from the looks of the clientele -Raekwon, Method Man, OFWGKTA (NBD, right?) are some that I've run into - they definitely know their s**t. Just off the Grand Ave stop on the L, the location seems a bit desolate at first glance. However, there are some really amazing food options just across Bushwick Ave in case your band has a (rare!) case of the munchies. Il Passatore, Tuffet, Hachi, and yes, Crown Fried Chicken (it's delicious, don't even play yourself) are my favorite post-Brewery haunts and a short hop across Bushwick Ave. Among the other studios I've been to (Avatar, Daddy's House, etc) the thing that sets the Brewery apart is the definitely the ambience. I'm sure it has a lot to do with the fact that the owner, Andrew Krivonos, designed and built the space out himself from the ground up and constantly updates the awesome decor. What do I mean by awesome? There is a leather top reception desk. Cmon, say it with me... BAW$E. Feels good, don't it? Other things that make me feel bawsey include the swing stopper glass bottles they serve my water in, the stocked bar, and the patio/grill setup on the roof. Seriously, I'm expecting a BBQ invite from Method Man any day now.

I've been at studios that have great equipment and boasts top notch production. What good is the equipment with all these plug-ins, amps, software, etc..if the engineer can't bring your sounds the way you envision? It's like that feeling I get seeing people who can't drive in a nice luxury/expensive car. Well, I hope you got the analogy, but basically what I'm saying is that the Brewery is official. One of the few spots that can give you something to look forward to listening to when you get home (granted you finish your session before leaving). Some studios you go to simple record your vocals and call it a day. Others don't make you feel comfortable recording. But the Brewery isn't either of them. The area isn't crazy like Manhattan, and the place itself is very well put together. They offer beverages, and boast a nice iso-booth to record. Trying to book a session might get hectic, but nevertheless, its one of the few studio gems that Brooklyn has to offer. The price is kind of expensive, but I never complain if the service matches it. Plus, they have off-peak rates that you can definitely take advantage of. I plan to make this one of my go-to places for all my music endeavors. Great that you can book + pay online too. If you'd like, check out some of my music at http://www.reverbnation.com/wesson (you'll also find a few of the tracks I recorded there).
