Alex and Wendy have got two completely different personalities she is from England so it is just hilarious to interact with her because of the different cultures. They know how to bounce ideas off of each other to make the pictures perfect. When I got my photography session I was so very nervous but they have a way of just putting you at ease that within a few minutes you are just having a ball! They do not force you into poses that are not natural which is a huge bonus in my opinion and they learn how to get the best end results even if it's kind of unconventional. For example me I apparently would do a little duck face not realizing it and then I would giggle or I would smile that is the picture that Alex wanted to capture and I had no clue until I saw the pictures in the end and was just amazed. For photos that are gallery worthy, ...hire Josiah Hassler Photography!  This man is an artist…read morefirst and foremost and it shows in his work.  We have so many beautiful photos from both our engagement session and our wedding that we are proud to have hanging in our home.  Our only warning is that Josiah has an artist's eye.  He captures moments you wouldn't even think of, but there were some traditional pictures that we felt were missed (just my mom and I posed and smiling, for example).  Such a silly photo that you don't even notice is missing until you go to post a "Happy Mother's Day" post on facebook and realize you don't have it.  We spoke with Josiah post-wedding and gave him our constructive criticism, which he welcomed.  He improves with every wedding he does and is learning how to best navigate the business side of his artistry.  I would recommend him to any bride hoping to capture her Pinterest-Perfect wedding!

I didn't know how long it would take to get all the photos I wanted, so I hired him for up to 4 hours. We were done in 1 1/2. He was so reasonable! He had all the pics to us by that same night and we were able to review them as a family before the kids went back to their own worlds. We were so grateful and had so much fun with him! We have called him to do the wedding for one of the 4 in January 2017. I'll be back to write another review. His personality matched well with ours, and the day flowed very smoothly. There were a lot of laughs, at the very beginning during the "getting ready" shots. But as the night progressed I honestly didn't even notice he was there (sorry Steve!). Needless to say, he took some pretty damn amazing photos! We knew his style was different then most photographers. His photos tell a story from beginning to end, more candid and less posed. His style of "wedding journalism" captures the realness and raw emotions associated with the day. I went through our photos and was able to relive each and every moment that Steve expertly captured. Most of my friends that have gotten married say that it is so hard to remember your wedding day, especially the small, seemingly insignificant moments that are overshadowed by vows and toasts and dances. What I appreciate about Steve the most was his ability to capture those sweet moments. Hugs from closest friend from college, my mother holding hands with my best friend during our first dance, the look on my dad's face after he walked me down the aisle. These moments are pure gold and I'm so grateful to have them memorialized. In addition to being a great photographer, Steve is just a great guy. I knew from our first conversation that we were going to work well together. I didn't pretend to know what I wanted or how this was supposed to go. He guided me through it and gave me his recommendations on things (the best hours for him to be there, whether or not we should do certain posed photos). He was just the right amount of communicative throughout. During the wedding, I honestly have no idea how he shot so many awesome photos because I didn't notice that a photographer was there. When I chatted with him during the wedding, he felt more like a guest. Our friends and family also commented on how great he is. If you're looking for super polished, riding a unicorn into the sunset kinds of photos, Steve probably isn't for you (although I wouldn't doubt that he has even more skills I don't know about). If you want an honest capture of your big day and photos that tell the story of your wedding, don't look any further. I couldn't imagine being happier with the end result.

Everything was hassle-free like Shan T. said. Brooke is very pleasant and easy to work with and has a wonderful personality. We were ready to go in advance and met with her on two occasions to explain what we were looking for, as well as emailed examples of the styles we liked. However, we felt that we received photos that were completely opposite of what we requested. We all talked about doing fun, outside of the box photos, which she said she could and would do. We feel that our photos were boring and regular and did not fit our personalities or what we talked about at all. She missed key moments (like my dad pulling back my veil when giving me away and/or kissing my cheek). Out of the 4,000 photos, we really liked about 20 (many were of inanimate objects). Some of our guests took better pictures that we actually have hanging up in our home. If we were able to do it all over again, we would go with a different photographer, even if it meant we didn't get them as long.

What we loved the most is that you can pay one flat rate for the entire day - getting ready, ceremony, and reception - and then you get all the work on CDs or a flashdrive. We got CDs of all the photos plus duplicate CDs with the same photos in black & white and an additional CD of artistic photos (black & white with the flowers in red, for example). With this option, we own all the photos and can do what we want. We can post them on Facebook, print them at Wal-Mart, email them to our family, etc. You don't have to pay for a photographer, wait 2 months, then pick the photos you want developed, then have to wait for them to only develop those photos - and then you only have a handful of them. This way, you get everything and it is fun and easy! Brooke is great, I cannot say it enough!! A+
