After what seemed like endless searching, we found Ashley Mally. What stood out to us was the quality and technique of her photos. Her portfolio was dynamic, delightful, and set her apart from competition. When we contacted her, she had a very busy schedule, but was more than willing to work with us and our budget. Throughout the process she was friendly, knowledgeable and genuine. On the day of our wedding, she was an absolute joy to work with. She was fun and energetic. When it came to taking family portraits, she knew how to direct people to get stunning results. When photographing my wife and I, she worked with our suggestions and added her own as well. While she was quick and precise, we didn't feel rushed as she worked. The results are absolutely stunning: All of her shots are vibrant, and perfectly depict our wedding day. Some shots look as if they came straight out of a bridal magazine. The only setback was the level of communication after the wedding. She had some unforeseen personal issues that made it difficult to get in touch with her. However, once communication resumed, this issue was quickly resolved to our full satisfaction. I submitted a request directly through her website and Alexa responded very quickly with all the information I needed to know I chose the right person. She included upfront session details, prices, and her upcoming availability. A couple quick emails back and forth and we were booked for a maternity/newborn package for the upcoming arrival of our 2nd daughter. Alexa was great to work with and super flexible on dates. We needed to reschedule our early November maternity/family session due to weather and our newborn session also needed to be moved since our daughter arrived early. We booked a lifestyle session for our newborn pictures in our home and I decided last minute that I also wanted to do a session at her studio which she gladly accommodated the next day! Our sessions were the week before Christmas so I was incredibly impressed at how flexible and accommodating she was! During the actual shoots, Alexa was calm, friendly and patient as we tried to get our rambunctious 2-year old to cooperate. I'm so grateful for how helpful and professional she was during the whole process. She had great posing suggestions and the pictures turned out absolutely beautiful. For all 3 sessions, we received our pictures within a couple weeks of the shoot. We even did our 2 newborn sessions right before Christmas and she sent our pictures before New Years Eve even though one of these was also a last minute add on!! We decided to hire Erin for our engagement party, to see what she really has to offer + how she is to work with as she was newer to the professional photography business. We had time to really be our raw , authentic selves + it really shows through in her pictures ! A truly good photographer has more than just a voluminous knowledge of equipment, lighting, and the technical aspects of the craft. What sets a photographer apart as truly good is the natural gift of SEEING what is special. He (or she) can capture OR set up moments. He (or she) is READY to see the moment and capture it. I don't even know where to begin with this review, but Sierra Nevada Photography is the place to…read morego, especially for boudoir photos. I won a boudoir package from Sierra (owner and photographer of Sierra Nevada Photography) in June and did it in July. I was so nervous and didn't know what to expect, but Sierra answered all my questions to ease the nerves. The day I went was actually a really dark day for me, but those photos showed a different side of myself I have never seen and really wanted to embrace. I didn't bring a lot of clothes and I was stiff and still nervous, but Sierra was nice and I ended up being comfortable enough. In August, I purchase a mini session with Sierra and her partner in crime, Cass (she does modeling and they own their studio together). I was more comfortable this round and brought more clothing options and really stepped out of my comfort zone. I talked more while I got my hair and makeup done (that was included in the first shoot too), and was really open to posing and what Sierra and Cass wanted to do. It was a lot easier the second go around because I knew what to expect. Sierra knows what she's doing, but is always open to ideas and different poses. Cass was fun to hang out with too! I love all the photos that were taken and Sierra does amazing editing. Each session portrays myself and how I felt in that time and they're amazing. I plan to go back to Sierra at some point in 2021. Moirae Creatives is the home to one of my favorite projects currently in town, Furever Reno. Which a coffee table book benefiting and highlighting local rescue animals and their families. I'm a huge animal lover and I fairly recently rescued my own dog from the Humane Society so I've been itching to get into the Furever Reno project, but at the time the $100 experience was out of my price range (all the proceeds from this fee are donated to local animal welfare charities) but I received the experience as a Christmas gift and was eager to get started. Once I contacted them, the process was quick, easy, and most of all, FUN! Erin and the team asked thoughtful and emotional questions about my pup and really cared about what we had to say and how everything made us feel. Once in the studio, she made us and our little man feel extremely comfortable, (he absolutely hates the camera) laughing and joking with us to really capture the true nature of our relationship with our pet. And the pictures came out AMAZING! With pricing similar to any photo print, (with some proceeds benefiting the animal charity of your choice) we left with a ton of amazing photos of our favorite furry friend that make me light up with joy when we look at them. This is truly an amazing experience for animal lovers that really benefits a great cause!
