I got a compound cream in a clicker. It disbursed very little cream. I asked the pharmacist if this looks right and showed him how little came out. He confirmed. This week i picked up the same cream with one less ingredient. However, the main medication was the same ml potency and so was the base. This time I got flimsy syringes with cream in it. I used exactly the amount they showed me and it was 6 times as much as the first cream amount. I went back and talked to another pharmacist. She was not able to tell me why there is a difference. I showed her the amount of the cream coming out of the clicker telling her that another person there confirmed the amount would me pin head size. She told me the clicker is empty. I asked for an explanation why there would be such a difference in amount of cream. She could not provide an answer and kept asking me what i would like to happen. I just wanted to know if i was given the wrong dose before or now so I know if that i am using the correct amount. She had a chip on her shoulder when she first greeted me and was unwilling to take the time to make check and see what was going on with the different prescriptions. I get as many as ten items a month: oral, topical, injectable, and everything is timely and correct. VERY fast turnaround, Great customer service via phone. at least twice as expensive for liquid and capsule compounded meds. Also the first time on ordering, My 60 day supply of liquid meds lasted 40 days....and the syringes only lasted for 2-5 uses, then fell apart. There are better mail and compounding pharmacies around. read more

Let's just start with Key Compounding Pharmacy has dropped the ball so many times on my first order that I've decided that it is not worth the headache to deal with them anymore and will be looking for other pharmacies. As a ND, I wanted to order some injectable vitamins for the office. I'll preface this with it wasn't entirely their fault, but also UPS. However Key Pharmacy still made plenty of mistakes. Also, I do recognize getting a package to me can be challenging if it can't be shipped to my office (I don't have a front staff and I can't be interrupted during a session particularly if I'm guiding a meditation. So I have my orders shipped to my apartment, which normally isn't a problem if I have the TRACKING # and know what day it's going to arrive). Let me count the number of times they screwed up: 1. Sent in my order form on Oct 13th and instead of shipping it to the address indicated in the section where it says "Shipping Address" they shipped it to my office. 2. They told me they would give me a tracking # when the package was sent out, but they didn't until I asked them again. According to the #, I was expecting to receive this package on Thurs Oct 17th, and I was fully prepared to receive it at home on Thursday morning...except that it ended up going to my office. So it threw everything off. They said if I just left a signed slip on the door, UPS would leave it, but that's a lie...UPS...colossal pain making it difficult to get my "time sensitive" package. So ultimately didn't get this package until Tuesday evening (waited at UPS in the Sodo district for 45 minutes to get it too). At this point the ice packs have melted because it was 6 days after I was supposed to receive this package, so some of the products were no longer usable. I contact Key Pharmacy to tell them this and they did offer to either refund me or send me fresh product (via a different shipping carrier). 3. When I was reviewing the contents of the package and my bill (they don't show you the costs of everything and how much your bill comes out to until it's already shipped). There were definitely some discrepancies on my bill and they overcharged me by $48. I had order a 50ml Calcium Gluconate, but was told it was currently on backorder. So they suggested I order a 10% 10ml calcium available for $7.38/ea instead (this price was quoted to me on October 14th). I thought alright fine, I'll order 2 vials of that. However, when I finally got my package (even though it was 6 days late), those 2 vials somehow got billed for $53.50. How does $7.38 x 2 add up to $53.50? It doesn't. I told them about that and they said they had recent price changes and I was quoted that before the change happened. What? This quote was given to me like a week prior, and for the item that were replacing for the item that was out of stock. And that wasn't their only mistake. On the price list, a 10 mL of sterile water is supposed to just cost 90 cents. I ordered 3 vials of this and somehow that total ended up costing $22.02. What? That's kind a large discrepancy as well as price change. How did less than $3 worth of product end up costing 7 TIMES MORE than the original price. I have no idea. Key Pharmacy said they would refund that amount to me for the misquoted items exactly 1 week ago from today...still waiting on that refund to go back on my credit card. 4. I also ordered some Procaine, which noticed expired in less than a month after receiving the items. I thought I would get AT LEAST a 3 month shelf life, but they shipped me nearly expired goods. 5. So I choose to have them reship the spoiled products to me and we decided to go with FedEx, because I could have it shipped to the closest FedEx and pick it up at my convenience. Key tells me they will ship it overnight and expect to receive it on Thurs, Oct 31st. I'm like great, send me the tracking # (emailed on Wed Oct 30th), but no response. I go to FedEx on Friday, Nov 1st to check for this package under my name, but had no tracking # to give them. Fedex looks my name up on their computer and says it isn't there. So I just assume the package was never sent. 6. Nobody answers their emails on Friday, Saturday or Sunday apparently. Or even on a Thursday sometimes. Monday rolls around and still haven't gotten a tracking # so I email Key and ask, "Did it get shipped?" They're like 'Yes, it got there on Thursday." UGHHH, apparently my package was there. And AGAIN, the products have been spoiled because the ice has melted. I would think since Key screwed up the 1st time, they would take extra precautions to make sure the 2nd set would get to me on time and check if I received the package. Nope. It is now Tues, Nov 5th (for an order placed on Oct 13th) and still don't have my complete order. I don't know if they'll refund me or not, but at this point I don't even want to deal them anymore. Orders always arrived about a week after I placed them so knowing this I placed my 4th order 1 week before I was due to start taking it, that was September 3rd, 2014 when the order had not arrived by September 8th, 2014 I phoned the pharmacy and sat on hold for 24 minutes before either someone or their phone system hung up on me. I called back and sat on the phone for 43 minutes and still no one came to the phone. I hung up and emailed asking if they are having phone problems...then I decided to look at my ordering history through their online ordering system and guess what? my order still had not been filled. It was just sitting there. I checked my bank account and there is no record of me being charged and UPS has no record of any packages being mailed to my home. Key Pharmacy normally has great customer service .... just slow in the delivery department but this is ridiculous... I cancelled my order completely, wrote them a scathing email and had my ND call the prescription into another Pharmacy. read more

They have a pretty good selection of non-standard prescriptions and supplements, but when I go in, the staff people that I talk to do not seem very knowledgeable and also, it's pretty slow to get my purchase and get out. Slow...slow... Just give yourself time when shopping. If you have questions, be prepared for the person to not know and to have to go ask someone and disappear for a little while and then be very slow in ringing you up. read more

I use Key for our prescriptions regular pharmacies can't or won't fill. My husband uses them with their mail service, which has been excellent (in fact, I even give them referrals for non-standard presciptions to out-of-state friends to fax in from their doctors... even those that require refrigeration, because they're great at that!). I go in to pick up mine, because right next door is a shop that carries high end supplements my doctor has me using, with brands such as Xymogen, Thorne, etc, and at great prices! (I don't know if that shop is associated with Key.) I've never had any problems with their service in all the years I've used them, and they're always helpful, friendly, professional, and accomodating, with good pricing. What more could you ask for? As for reviewers who've chosen to give bad reviews because they *choose* not to have a business location or staff who can sign for their deliveries, or home delivery without a cooled drop-box... well, that's your choice. read more

I have been getting my meds shipped from here for almost two years now and the quality of the product and customer service has gone down hill. Six months ago they didn't put enough ice packs in my shipment and my meds arrived comprised. Today they made a clerical error and refused to credit back the difference in shipping costs. I have completely lost confidence in Key and will not be using them again. If you choose to Use them I would suggest checking and double checking your order. Buyer beware. read more

This place is the WORST. They have screwed up my refrigerated prescriptions EVERY time I have tried to fill them! Dealing with Key Compounding Pharmacy is like having a second job. Even if you fill out the online refill form they STILL screw it up and you have to call, wait on hold forever, and order it again. If you need a compounding pharmacy then this is a good one. They are hard to find and the fact that I live close it nice. They are very helpful and fill my perscription promptly. They don't accept insurance but you can turn the out of pocket expense to your insurance company. read more

I had to switch to a different pharmacy after realizing the people they have answering their phone/taking Rx refill requests were really difficult to deal with. Every time I called I either got condescending and curt, or slow and clueless When it got to the point that I started to dread and put off calling them for a refill, I realized it was time to switch to a different place with better customer service. I've been a loyal customer of Key Pharmacy for over 20 years. In fact if it were not for this Pharmacy working with my doctor, I most like would not be alive today. Which is why it makes me so sad to write this review. Not really sure what has changed, but I have never had any problems calling and talking to the staff or a pharmacist in past years. Now .. you call in and get a automated message which goes absolutely no where. I have sat on that line for over 30 minutes on several occasions. Finally I called back and left a message. They did return my call and they apologized for this problem and gave me their direct lines. I placed my Rx them directly over a week ago. My much needed meds still have arrived. So I called the "direct" line they provided to me ... which "oh surprise" is just another voice mail. Again I left a messages. They returned the call and said the it should be delivered today. (which was 2 days ago). So again I am trying to contact them ... no return calls ... no access to talking to a "real person". It's a shame this "Stellar" Pharmacy has decided to isolate itself from it's customers via technology. All I can say is ... it's Time for me to find a new Compounding Pharmacy! read more

Have ordered many medications from them online and my experiences have been mostly good. However, it has happened twice that they have forgotten to ice my refrigerated medications. Most recently they sent me one which arrived on a Friday and even though I called well before the close of business they told me they were unable fulfill it and that I couldn't have it until the following Tuesday, which was unhelpful as I am leaving town Monday. As it was their error I find this highly disappointing. The representative who came on the phone had a poor tone and made me feel like I was the one being unreasonable. To the pharmacy: you are in the business of healthcare!! Patients need their medications, and when you make a mistake that means you fix it even if that means someone has to go above and beyond. This experience was completely unacceptable and very disappointing. read more

I had a prescription, which is not paid for by insurance, transferred to Key Compounding Pharmacy from Kelly-Ross Compounding Pharmacy in Seattle, simply because Key is close to my house. BIG mistake! Key wants to charge me nearly DOUBLE what Kelly-Ross charges. That's just RIDICULOUS! Mine also needs to be kept frozen, but Kelly-Ross insulates the pack sufficiently to drive it to Tacoma from Seattle without it melting in the least, even in hot weather. Good lesson on comparing prices. Even with the drive to Seattle, it's still MUCH less expensive than Key. I told Key to go jump in a lake! read more

I received my first refrigerated prescription from Key Compounding Pharmacy via FedEx yesterday. I was worried it wouldn't still be chilled. Was I wrong! They packaged the BEST ice pack and surrounding insulation I've ever seen. They used two ice packs, my medication between those, all surrounded with a WHOLE lot of insulation. I was even more impressed when I reached in and the medication was ice cold and the ice packs still had some ice to them. Thank you for making this a streamlined hassle free process. I so appreciate that. I was also able to speak w/a knowledgeable pharmacy to get a price on the prescription prior to my doctor calling in the medication. First class all the way. AND a whole lot less than a compounding pharmacies quoted price in Bellevue. THANK YOU!!! read more

I called Key Pharmacy to fill my prescription on Friday morning. I was told I would receive my medication (which prevents me from having migraines) the following Monday. I didn't receive my medication on Monday, and called Key Pharmacy on Tuesday. I was told that my prescription hadn't been filled and I would receive it the following Friday evening. Receiving my prescription 4 days late, means that I will get a debilitating migraine before my prescription arrives, have no way to alleviate the pain, and miss an entire day of work. Given the repeated reviews about this pharmacy's failure to correctly fill orders, one would think they'd have a plan to correct their mistakes for customers more quickly. Say, complete the order immediately and pay for next day service. But no such remedy was available. If you live by a schedule, don't use Key Pharmacy because they're not reliable and they don't have a plan to correct the problems they create. read more
