Im back again because Paul came out claiming that the guys did more than they were supposed to which is complete bs. He started speaking to me in arborist terms. I told him I don't know what those terms mean but I asked for the trees to be cut back. He then said it would affect the health of the trees. THEY AREN'T MY TREES. I DON'T CARE. I wanted them off my property. Then this Paul guy has the nerve to say I must have after the fact gotten a cheaper quote. He couldn't be further from the truth because they were the 2nd company I called and they were $300 higher but were chose bc they were going to clear one section from power lines that I wanted. The fact that he pulled that bs out of his ass pissed me off. Thia company is running a sham. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THEM. There are too many other companies to choose a bs artist. Started off good; quickly got a bid on the work, but when they came out to actually do the work. and saw the work that was bid, , they said that they had one of the workers injured, and would have to come back in a few days. Never heard from them again. I called them 3 times and they said they would get back to me, but never did. The problem here, as I see it, was that the estimator underestimated the job, and when The crew came out to do the work, and saw what was to be done, they wouldn't honor the bid and just left. This company seemed professional at first. When they quoted my yard work, they included the trees from our neighbors that where showing in our back yard, well, they never trimmed those, I sent an e-mail in regards, they asked me to send pictures, and never replied to me again, it's been over a month, and they never came back, called back or e-mailed back, they just took my money and did not finish the job. The appointment setting was horrible, the lady that answers the phone could never guarantee a time frame she kept saying "whenever they are in your area they will call you" so, we had to be home all day not to miss them, and to finish my review, the first they offer when they quote is payment plans, but when hired we had to lumpsum and pay upfront. Arrived on time with a large crew who continually moved tree debris to the manned chipper. The tree cutter aligned ropes so falling branches would avoid damaging the extensive gardens below. Every task I asked for was completed and they left with the area cleaner than when the arrived. This is my fourth year using them. read more

This business is used in my community, unfortunately hired by the hoa. These people are extremely inconsiderate to the residents when trimming trees, blocking the entire street with no regards. I would strongly encourage to stay clear of the crew that works in the Woodland lakes preserves. Keep in mind when I left my neighborhood the company was blocking me in with all the tree debris and their truck.. see pic below, on the way home 40 mins later, they were then parked across the street from a truck blocking the street so no cars could pass... this is pure lack of consideration to the residents. I contacted Kevin's Tree Service because of the great reviews. I guess they do a good job if you can get them to show up. I had a 9:00am appointment and at 9:15am I called to make sure the text and email confirmations I received were correct. I was told they were running a little late. I waited until 10am. I received no phone call, text or other communication letting me know when to expect someone. I took time off from work for this appointment. I could not wait any longer. I understand that things happen but having absolutely no communication whatsoever from Kevin's Tree Service has left a bad taste in my mouth. Basic courtesy would have been nice. read more

We had a huge oak stump under the house that after several attempts to cut and remove were unsuccessful. Kyle came out and gave us a timely bid, explained the process and within a few days their tech was there to do the job. I had no problem waiting for them to fit my tree trimming into their schedule, was fine with them going to my daughter's home the following week. They did a good job at my house and cleaned up the trimmings. So far, so good. Not sure if it was the same crew or not at my daughter's house the following week, but they left a cut palm frond hanging in a palm tree, left small dead branches in the oak tree, left a pile of debris in the back yard - back yard was supposed to be picked up completely - but managed to find the time and energy to play a little basketball on my grandson's half court! They were able to fit us in with two weeks. The team consisted of a group of five individuals including Jay leading the pack. Used Kevin's tree service to remove a 30' Canary Palm, and haul away. Also had them do the stump grinding and haul away shavings as well. "Sorry Mark, we have been swamped. We are scheduling work for the week of the 30th I believe. " Ok, it took a bit of my effort to get scheduled. A busy tree guy, is a good thing. Got the job done, but did take some managing on getting in the scheduling and then to get the stump grinder scheduled and yes then the shavings haul away also. Three separate events. not one but twice did not show up for the scheduled appointment. The second time they even confirmed they were coming. After the first cancellation they used the reasoning " a piece of equipment was broken". they forgot they used that same excuse a year earlier. Call me foolish for keep giving them a shot. After this last cancellation I made it clear I come from out of town to keep these appointment. Needless to say they didn't show up again. Wow, I don't usually go our of my way to do reviews, but couldn't help. They just finished the job and left. Took down 4 trees and ground the stumps for a very reasonable price. One tree was in a tough spot and they did it with ease and caused NO damage to my fence, pond, stream or other delicate plants in the area. On top of it all, the cleanup they did was EXCEPTIONAL. I've had many people come in and do work at my house and NEVER have I seen a more meticulous cleanup after the job was done. Definitely a 5 star job. I needed work done at my 89 year old Mother in laws house . They came out promptly and gave me a professional written estimate and followed up with a phone call. The gave me a certain date and approximate time of the day to expect them and showed up on tim One other company I called was almost double the price and just gave me my estimate over the phone. The other company never even got back to me. They pruned back large branches overhanging the house and did a general pruning of the tree. Can you give zero stars? I had communicated with them for over 2 months to have my Fathers tree trimmed. He is disabled and I flew here from Ohio. The day they were to come do the job, they cancelled saying they were short staffed! Very unapologetic, not understanding at all of our unique circumstances. Very poor customer service! My husband got an emailed estimate of $300 to have a dead palm tree cut down. They cut the tree down & when it was time to for payment I was told it was $350 from Jay. I wrote the check because the tree was already cut down. Afterwards, I spoke with my husband (he was at work-I was the one home) he said no it was supposed to be $300. I immediately called Kevin's tree service & spoke to the office manager. She looked up our estimate and saw that it was supposed to be only $300. She told me Jay shouldn't have told me that as they don't know the prices because it is none of their business -yet they are the ones taking payment. That doesn't make sense to me. She told me she was going to reach out to the owner to see how he wanted this resolved. I told her to contact me as I was the one home & my husband was at work. She even repeated my number back. Not more than 15 mins later my husband receive a call, stating I told them to call him for authorization (WHICH WAS NOT THE CASE-I specifically asked her to call me) as it was an extra $50 to have the stump grindings removed when they came out later that morning to have the stump removed. My husband was in a meeting & just agreed because he had to get back to the meeting. Later in the day, when he had a free moment, he called back to dispute this. This time saying that we were told it was $300 and it included that stump grinding. That we felt they were just covering the fact they took an extra $50 from us. My husband was now told the owner would call him to discuss this. Two days later & still no phone call from the owner but our check has been cashed! read more

We have used Kevin's tree service several years now. We have mostly oak and pine trees in the front and both sides of our house and then some down by a pond out back. They always do an excellent job of understanding and listening to our needs and then going above and beyond implementing those tasks. This last time out they not only did what my wife and I asked but they blew all the debris from our roof and cleaned the street gutters up. They didn't need to do that. Aside from thinning the canopy over our house, which looks awesome, they removed several large branches that could be problems down the road and they removed one of the oaks that was starting to die. I asked that instead of removing the entire oak, could they make me a little seat out of it. My wife wasn't really into it but after they were done we re both elated with the artistic nature these guys go about their job. No job is too big for these professional artists. We had Kevin's Tree Service do several jobs at our former home. We were always very pleased with their work. We move to a new home and called them early to do some work - again great job. Recently we called and asked to have a palm trimmed along with a second palm trim for our neighbor. They sent both of us a quote which we approved. They scheduled the work for 2 weeks out and said they would call us early that morning to let us know what time. They didn't call so I called them. Well, they couldn't make it that day so they would reschedule. Rescheduled for the following week. No call, no-show - I followed up and was told that they wouldn't make it. My husband called and talked to Dave who said it just wasn't worth the time and money for them to come and do those 2 trees - the same trees that they quoted, we accepted, and they scheduled twice. These guys did a great job. Used a different company last year to trim our large camphor and they weren't able to reach a lot of the dead at the top. Cautionary - In review can advise 2 things. 1. Have quote for service itemized. 2. Pay for what is done that day. In July Kevin's Tree Service was contacted for a quote and 2 weeks later Yes, Kevin's Tree Service provides a great tree removal crew. The process for removing 2 trees, clearing fence line of overgrown neighbor trees and cutting down bushes did happen in 4 hours with a 4 man crew. They were paid in full, cash. I asked about the stumps that remained and was advised another day and other personnel would do the grinding. 3 weeks of calling Kevin's Tree Service and finally the stump grinder comes to my property only to partially do his work. The second part of the 2nd tree's roots remain and all the bush stumps grinding has yet to be completed. I have called multiple times and email this company without resolution. As I post the review, an email was received, first response from their office manager and I now await a call from the owner at this point. Please be aware my contract was before Irma, and even with the impact given to everyone, this is an example of their work ethic and it should be noted. UPDATE: Owner did contact me and the stump grinding was finally completed. Given that contract was finally honored I increased my review one star. read more

I had a large live oak fall against the back of my house thanks to Irma.Because of the location and size I was convinced that it would require a crane to remove it safely without further damage. (I had visions of $$$$$$) I contacted Kevin's Tree Service and received a very quick response from them even though they were swamped from the storm. Kyle came out to look over the situation and assured me that they had the equipment but more importantly the talent to remove it without further damage to the house and without a crane. We agreed on a price which I thought was very fair and they began work a few days later. When the crew arrived I was impressed with the amount of equipment they brought and the size of the crew. Everyone I encountered on that crew was polite and very respectful of our property. I had a few concerns as to where they would drive the trucks on my property and they assured me they would be careful...and they were. I was truly amazed at the level of talent that this crew displayed on this job. The entire job took about 2 hours to complete and during that time they answered all of my questions that I am sure I bugged them with. In the end there was some damage to my yard due to the heavy equipment, but much less than i expected there would be.
