One of the really great things about this store is that the staff genuinely know what they are talking about, they are full of advice and information to suit all pet owners. They also have some books too, which is useful if you if you are thinking about getting a pet. It is quite impressive in comparison to the bigger chain pet stores that are around and it is also so much cheaper! When my folks, who live in the area, look after our dogs, this is where we get their food. The prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly. There is a fairly wide pavement outside the shop, which means that you can pull on and load up with your supplies. If these spaces are not available then there are a couple of side roads where you can normally get a spot, although this does mean lugging stuff across the sometimes busy Hawthorn Road

Children under the age of 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult to enter this shop. From snakes to lizards, these are some of the reptiles on show at Pets and Aquatics. The shop itself is small and there is not exactly much room to move about in. Because of this, you are actually quite close to the reptiles on show. Children under the age of say for instance eight could be scared by the reptiles featured in Pets and Aquatics so my advice would be not to take them. However that is just my view and parents still might want to take their children to see the snakes and lizards. There are however fish tanks to see so it's not just about reptiles. Not a bad place in my view and Pets and Aquatics might well be a place where you want to purchase pet food from.

Things may cost a little more here than your average little pet shop, but you do get the sence that the animals are all healthy before they are sold, and they even give you a 2 week guarentee on your pets if they decide to die!

I freaked out and ran down to the pet centre to ask for help on this unpleasant issue. The staff were friendly and did not try to oversell products in an attempt to increase their profit margins. I was sold a spray, a flea comb and a solution to rub into my kitten's skin and fur. Two days later and my kitten is flea free. Thank You Kings Heath Pet Centre. They also have goods for all types of pets and animals, ranging from dogs to your more exotic pets. It is also a great place to bring the kids if you have any. The Cockatoo is one of my main reasons for coming here on un-cat related issues. He/She will quite happily mimic your words if you don't mind looking a little bit silly in front of the other customers. Kings Heath Pet Centre also sells your regular supplies such as litter and food pouches. Their prices are competitive with the larger supermarkets that have the pleasure in buying in vast stock quantities. If you own a pet and live in the vicinity, then Kings Heath Pet Centre is the place for you.

There is a wide range of products for each type of pet, all of my cat and guinea pig needs were well catered for. The staff are friendly and helpful and the prices are reasonable. My main reason for visiting the pet centre was always to see the cute animals, especially the furry little bunny rabbits! *Awww* So cute! There is always a large parrot who occasionally gives people a fright but suddenly squawking or flapping his wings as you go past. Any excuse to go in and I'm there!

I recently went in here to buy Frecks a lamb filled bone and I got a massive one for only £1.49 - I've paid more than this at big named high street stores. What a bargain! It will take her weeks to get through... The amount of stock they hold here is quite extraordinary. Every nook and cranny is filled with many different types of biscuits, collars, dog bowls, rubber toys and bird cages. My favourite spot was the Strawberry flavoured popcorn for your rabbits, mice and hamsters. Remember to go to the back of the shop so you can ooh and aah at the well looked after baby guinea pigs and gerbils.

Lots of gardening shops I've been to sell plants that look unhealthy and weak, but Pets & Gardens makes sure that it only sells strong and multi-flowering plants (which is exactly what every gardening shop should do!) The inside of the shop is a little small, and very few people can fit in at one time. There's a few cages at the back which contain small pets. I nearly bought a hamster from here last year, but the staff didn't know which cage was for males, and which was for females, which I found a little worrying. Pets & Gardens is great to buy bird seed from, and costs as little as 60p for £250g. I always buy the seed from here for my outdoor feeders.
