This is a huge double fronted shop that stocks anything and everything your pet pooch, and every other domesticated animal under the sun, would need. The prices seem reasonable and there were some very helpful staff knocking around assisting customers ad hoc. I picked up some dog treats for a great price. I freaked out and ran down to the pet centre to ask for help on this unpleasant issue. The staff were friendly and did not try to oversell products in an attempt to increase their profit margins. I was sold a spray, a flea comb and a solution to rub into my kitten's skin and fur. Two days later and my kitten is flea free. Thank You Kings Heath Pet Centre. They also have goods for all types of pets and animals, ranging from dogs to your more exotic pets. It is also a great place to bring the kids if you have any. The Cockatoo is one of my main reasons for coming here on un-cat related issues. He/She will quite happily mimic your words if you don't mind looking a little bit silly in front of the other customers. Kings Heath Pet Centre also sells your regular supplies such as litter and food pouches. Their prices are competitive with the larger supermarkets that have the pleasure in buying in vast stock quantities. There is a wide range of products for each type of pet, all of my cat and guinea pig needs were well catered for. The staff are friendly and helpful and the prices are reasonable. My main reason for visiting the pet centre was always to see the cute animals, especially the furry little bunny rabbits! *Awww* So cute! There is always a large parrot who occasionally gives people a fright but suddenly squawking or flapping his wings as you go past. Any excuse to go in and I'm there!

When I came 2 pay 4 the mirror I noticed there was a sticker over the previous price sticker and it was no longer £1 99 but £2 99. I payed 4 it went outside took off the top sticker of £2 99 underneath was the price of £1 99. I went back in the shop demanded my money back. The male assistant tried 2 deny it of course. They also deliver which is great and saves me having to carry a 2-stone bag of organic dog food home on the bus. Staff are really nice and helpful and there's also a big selection of daft squeaky toys in a variety of mad shapes available. Other animals are catered for - rabbit food, cat treats, budgies bells etc are can be purchased and it's all very reasonably priced.

The inside of the shop is a little small, and very few people can fit in at one time. There's a few cages at the back which contain small pets. I nearly bought a hamster from here last year, but the staff didn't know which cage was for males, and which was for females, which I found a little worrying. Pets & Gardens is great to buy bird seed from, and costs as little as 60p for £250g. I always buy the seed from here for my outdoor feeders.

These stalls are really handy if I happen to be in town when the markets are on and save me a trip to the big Tesco. As well as food for most pets they stock a large range of bird feeders, padded dog and cat beds from £6, collars, leads, flea drops, shampoos, dog chews from 40p, cat toys which can be used for rabbits too and, if you have a big dog, you can get a ginormous bone for just £2 called a 'postman's leg'; that's value for money right there!

Children under the age of 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult to enter this shop. From snakes to lizards, these are some of the reptiles on show at Pets and Aquatics. The shop itself is small and there is not exactly much room to move about in. Because of this, you are actually quite close to the reptiles on show. Children under the age of say for instance eight could be scared by the reptiles featured in Pets and Aquatics so my advice would be not to take them. However that is just my view and parents still might want to take their children to see the snakes and lizards. There are however fish tanks to see so it's not just about reptiles. Not a bad place in my view and Pets and Aquatics might well be a place where you want to purchase pet food from.
