I was so fed up that it kept dislocating, I agreed to the surgery and we moved forward. Everything went so smoothly! From the X-rays, to scheduling the MRI, to scheduling the surgery, and all of the appointments in between and after surgery. The office staff is very nice and helpful and the office itself is very clean. They have AMI in the same office which is very convenient for X-rays; they get them back in literally minutes. Simonian's PA's are also great, especially Nate. I had surgery 12/03/19, almost 6 months ago, and my knee is doing great. Dr. Simonian is very experienced and a great doctor/surgeon. I had MPFL reconstruction, with a donor graft put in, and he also cleaned up my meniscus and my knee area in general. I have no pain where the graft was placed and my patella hardly moves laterally anymore due to the new graft. This was a very painful surgery and recovery, but I am so glad I chose Dr. Simonian to do it! Would highly recommend him to anyone with shoulder or knee problems!

Absolutely love Dr. Baysal! He is our hero! Our story is becoming all too common these days. This…read moreis not the first time I had to be the healthcare advocate for our family. Why is it so hard to get the care you and your loved ones need? I took a leap of faith one night at 10:00pm as I lay in bed in shock that my Mom had been laying in a hospital bed waiting for a surgeon that would take her case and a bed at a hospital that would take her at all, because they had no beds. Here is our story... You know that feeling you get when you call a loved one that lives alone, and you know they have to be home, but they don't answer the phone. That is when that feeling starts. And you wait a few minutes to see if they call you back, but they don't.  So you call again.... and again... and again, but still no answer. That's the feeling! The one you hope you never get!  Well, I/we got it on Thursday, 5/4/23. Thank goodness our son called to ask where grandma was.  He then went over to see if she was OK, showing up just a couple minutes before us, and he found her on the floor with a broken leg! She had been there for 3 hours! I can not even imagine if she had laid there all night. Thank goodness we got to her and got her to the hospital so she could have the surgery that she desperately needed to repair her leg and relieve her pain.  I mean... That is how it should go. Right? NOPE!!!  Three days later and she is still laying in the same Hospital bed in pain, even with all the pain medication, waiting for a surgeon to accept her case and an available bed for her.  WHY YOU ASK? SaInt Agnes Surgeons determined that her case was too complex, so they sent her clinical Records over to CMC Fresno to see if they could take her.  They said NO because they are at capacity.  So, Saint Agnes sent her clinicals to UCSF to see if they could take her.  They said NO and referred her to CMC Fresno, who again said NO. So, Saint Agnes sent Mom's clinicals to Cedar Sinai in L.A. to see if they could take her case. This is not how things should go! Saturday 5/6/23 at 10:00pm this whole situation got the best of me so I figured I would do some research and look for an Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon from CMC that may have an e-mail address online that I could send a message to. I did find one that has 20+ years experience, so I sent him a message about mom in the hopes that he would take her case and find a bed for her at CMC.  He replied within 2 hours! We went back and forth several times with questions he had. Come to find out he has privileges at both CMC and SAMC. By 10:00am Sunday 5/7/23 this surgeon had called the doctor treating mom and had reviewed her X-Rays.  He said he can do the surgery and he can do it at Saint Agnes! He said he would go see mom that night and hoped to get an operating room for monday morning to do the surgery. Surgery was scheduled for 10:45am Monday morning then was changed at the last minute to Tuesday morning 5/9/23 at 7:30am. Ultimately, Mom had her leg repaired on 5/9/23. The surgeon was great! And she was able to stay at Saint Agnes!  Mom is doing great! She has been staying at a Skilled Nursing Facility to get up and walking strong again and will be discharged today. She laid in bed waiting too damn long for that surgery, which did not help with her overall strength, but she will get there. Also, she has to get past that feeling like she is going to fall again, which is tough. She is not happy with being knocked down a few pegs, especially after she had healed so well after her back surgery. I still can not understand why nobody at Saint Agnes reached out to local Orthopedic Trauma Surgeons to see if anyone was available to perform her surgery. She laid in that bed 5 nights waiting for surgery. But of course day 2 after surgery they want her shipped out before she can even stand up on her leg. There is something seriously wrong with our Healthcare system and medical professionals. Not ALL medical professionals, of course, but DAMN! IT SHOULDN'T BE SO HARD TO FIND THE GOOD ONES! So, from the bottom of my heart and every ounce of my Soul, I thank you, Dr. Baysal!

I have been waiting for Dr. Baysal to do the paperwork for 2 weeks...so authorization (which takes about two weeks also) by my insurance can be started. Office staff cannot give time line. He did not entertain us when we walk in in his office. He wants us to make another appointment to see him for the same reason we saw him the first time. So sad to have this poor quality of care in our system. I wouldn't want him to do my knee surgery if I need one in the future.

I contacted Dr. Kollmorgen for an independent 2nd opinion. I had previously had bilateral hip…read morescopes in L.A. with a diffrent surgeon. Dr. Kollmorgen went out of his way to accommodate me, since I was out-of-state. First, I emailed Dr. Kollmorgen my reports. We set up a phone consult to discuss what his findings were. In that call he was brutally honest. This was something I was looking for. An honest second opinion. Not influenced by the original surgeon's name, or whom he trained under. I explained to Dr. Kollmorgen I had MRAs scheduled, and he offered to review those images as well. I couldn't met with him when I traveled back to L.A. for the MRAs on both hips. Are schedules conflicted. But, I did send the images to him afterward. Dr. Kollmorgen gave me his opinion. In the coming weeks I would email him questions because of just confusion. Dr. Kollmorgen went out of his way to respond. Finally, I arranged to fly back to California from Michigan in April 2019. Dr. Kollmorgen arranged to have a CT Scan of both hips to check version issues, and give me the finally overall picture. I was pleasantly shocked with his compassion. Dr. Kollmorgen was to fly out to speak at a conference the day we met. So, he actually came in to met with me on a non-clinic day. Which he had to arrange with his department head to get 1 exam room for a few hours. I am so thankful to the department head for giving the green light. Dr. Kollmorgen spent 1hr and 40mins with me. Taking an entire history prior to surgery, the surgery itself, and the post op care and rehab. I realized how genuine his attitude was toward patient care was, when he enquired how I was actually doing. Pain wise, mentally, emotionally. I've been to enough Orthopedic surgeons, since age 9 about my hips, to know that very few actaully care enough about a patient to ask how they are doing. The finally outcome wasn't the best news. But, Dr. Kollmorgen has bent over backwards to email me back and discuss my fears of moving forward with surgery. He has even called me since we've met. There are a lot of orthopedic hip surgeons who do this surgery, who shouldn't be doing it. Unfortunately, I know this first hand. But, what is promoted is the ones who train and train to do the hip scopes, PAO/DFO, and revision surgeries correctly. Those are few and inbetween. They strive for greatness with their training and patient care everyday. Dr. Kollmorgen will be the first to say his field has come a long way. But, Dr. Kollmorgen will also be the first to say that the field still has a way to go. For me, I have spoken personally with a PAO patient of his who is doing good. A Bilateral Hip Scope Revision patient who is doing fantastic as well. It's wonderfully to connect with patients of his that needed hope and found it with his surgical skills. I'm hoping to delay surgery until June 2020. I feel it's important to be mentally prepared for Bilateral Hip Revision Surgeries, and PAOs. My outcome from the originally surgery done by a surgeon has been horrible. I'm in constant pain! Dr. Kollmorgen has been supportive of my decision not to jump into another surgery asap. He has supported my choice to have another surgeon do PRP injections in each hip to help with pain control in order to delay. He has show me courtesy and respect by acknowledging my stress, fears, and anxiety over this situation, and even additional surgeries. So much so, as someone from Michigan, I'm willing to overlook the fact he is originally born and raised a Buckeye He by far is a great person and surgeon. Well, worth the travel to Fresno, California for an evaluation. I hope to be able to update in the future and tell everyone about my success and how great he was during the surgery process, and even post operatively.

The Dr.'s are great. I have personally seen 2 different doctors and 1 PA here. My son had a knee surgery by one of the doctors here. Now it is not my intention to throw anyone under the bus....but I have had numerous issues with the staff. Disclaimer: I understand that the Dr's here oftentimes get called into the hospital for surgeries which effects their office visits. THAT IS NOT WHAT HAPPENED HERE..... 1. Calling to schedule and being put on hold forever to get hung up on. (X2). After the second time I elected to start coming into the office to schedule. Wasn't a big issue because I live close. 2. Being told that I would receive a call back...and not receiving a call back. Resulting in...you guessed it...stopping by the office. 3. Having my appointment rescheduled via phone call. Then when I arrived at my newly rescheduled appointment I was told that I was rescheduled. The receptionist claims I was called a week prior, but no call was received not was any message left that I should call the office. I'm sure I'm forgetting some issues. And I wouldn't stop visiting this office based on the shortcomings of the admin folks here because I believe the Dr's and PA's are great. Just know that it takes a lot of personal effort to make sure you can be seen and oftentimes you need to be very persistent when you need an office visit.

I have been a patient at SPOC since 2005 and have received care there for my back, hips, and knees…read more Dr. Gill has performed two hip replacements for me, nearly 20 years apart. The first was a revision of a previous replacement that repeatedly dislocated, and the second was for arthritis in my other hip. I cannot say enough positive things about him. Having that kind of continuity with one physician for two decades is extraordinary. He knows my history, understands the peculiarities of my orthopedic problems, and that familiarity has tremendous value. I am also a patient of Dr. Connor Telles. His manner is somewhat reserved, but he listens, answers questions, and does not make me feel rushed. My back surgery went well, and I feel I received excellent surgical care. I also saw Dr. Guinto twice and found him friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. My concerns were not with him, but with scheduling. On at least two occasions, appointments were canceled or rescheduled on short notice, including once the evening before a morning appointment. In both cases, the next available appointment was four to six weeks later. When you are already in significant pain, that is extremely frustrating. After the second cancellation, I asked to see another provider with earlier availability. I was told rather sternly that if I switched providers, I could not switch back. That was fine with me, but the manner in which it was communicated felt unnecessarily condescending. I was ultimately switched to Dr. Kasturi, and so far my experience with him has been good. Unfortunately, the scheduling staff again seemed to show little empathy about the difficulty of waiting weeks for care while in pain. Another ongoing frustration is the phone system. I am often on hold for 10 to 20 minutes when trying to reach a provider's office. When that happens consistently, it suggests that more scheduling and phone staff may be needed. Overall, I am very happy with the physicians who have cared for me at SPOC. Some have provided truly excellent care, and my long relationship with Dr. Gill in particular is something I value enormously. My frustration is with the administrative side of the practice. Scheduling, phone wait times, short-notice cancellations, and the way some staff communicate with patients can make an already stressful medical situation much harder. If I were not so happy with my doctors, I would seriously consider going elsewhere. The medical care keeps me at SPOC. The administrative side is, at times, a pain to deal with.
