Great guy to work with. We needed our well water tested prior to selling. Had our results on time as promised! Thanks!

He kept us in the loop throughout the entire process, answered every question we had, and was always responsive to calls and emails. He also happens to be a home inspector, and his knowledge showed -- he walked us through several things in our house worth addressing that we never would have known to look for on our own. It was very clear that to him this was not just about the bottom line, it's about doing the job right. He was incredibly thorough, and you could tell he takes real pride in his work and holds himself to utmost professional standards He took pride in his work and he genuinely cared. That is very hard to come by. He gave us back our peace of mind and made our home feel safe again. Truly, we can't thank him enough.

When the results came back to be above the recommended level, I had Airtech over & they did a site review to determine the best spot to install a mitigation system. After I was moved-in, they came at the pre-arranged time & installed the unit as we discussed. They also left a testing apparatus that I was supposed to leave in-place for a few days, then move to my porch. I did that & they picked it up, when they were in the area, I suppose. Since they didn't call me back, I assume the radon was at an acceptable level. Being that I came from out-of-town, I admittedly didn't contact other such businesses for estimates, etc. I paid an even $1,000 in late summer 2015 for the installation & from what I can tell, the unit is still doing it's thing. I'm satisfied with everything about the experience.

I hired this company to mitigate radon in my 1950s home, which has clay soil under the slab and an…read moreinterior French drain system around the basement. In my opinion, they did very little investigation before starting the job. Their first attempt was simply installing a sub-slab suction point without tying into the French drain system at all. They left a monitor for a few days, and the radon levels did not change. About a month later, they came back and added another suction point. This time, they ran piping across the basement to tie into part of the French drain system. The frustrating part is that there were easier access points near the original system, including the sump area or the channel leading into the sump, that could have been evaluated first. Again, they left the monitor for a few days, and the radon levels still did not change. Another month later, they returned and added a 2nd sub-slab suction point in the center of the basement. Still no real improvement. At that point, they told me I needed to seal cracks around the basement, so I did. That also did not fix the problem. Their next suggestion was to stack two fans to increase suction. I did not feel comfortable with that approach. I felt it made more sense to use a properly sized higher-suction fan rather than stacking fans and hoping for the best. Eventually, I decided to stop using this company and troubleshoot the issue myself. During that process, I discovered they had only tied into half of my French drain system. My house actually has two separate French drain sections, which they never identified. Once I added a suction point into the second French drain system and upgraded to a higher-pressure fan with good airflow, the system finally started working the way it should. My setup is now basically a hybrid system: three sub-slab suction points and two French drain suction points. In hindsight, I believe if both French drain systems had been properly investigated and tied in from the beginning, some of the extra sub-slab work may not have been necessary. Overall, my biggest frustration is that there did not seem to be a real diagnostic process. It felt like they were guessing, waiting weeks between visits, and hoping the numbers would eventually drop during warmer weather. But radon is often worse in the winter because of stack effect, so a temporary drop in summer does not necessarily mean the problem is fixed. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company for a difficult radon mitigation situation, especially in an older home with interior French drains and clay soil. If the house was built with gravel under the slab, they would probably do great. However, my experience with them has been terrible . So terrible that I had to figure this out on my own. If I could give them 0 stars, I would.

And the results of the work done by Insulwise is now clear. In the past, we could feel the cold coming right through our walls which meant putting on additional clothing even as we turned the thermostat up. That is no longer the case. Strikingly, we can touch the inside walls, facing the outside of the house, and not feel the cold at all. There are no longer cold spots in the house that we avoid. We have turned down the thermostat and still the house is much warmer than it was last winter when it wasn't nearly as cold outside. My daughter and son-in-law noticed the change immediately when they visited and commented on it. In summary, the work done by Insulwise did exactly what we had hoped for. In terms of economics, we are in our 70's and may or may not be here long enough to recoup the savings on our heating bills. But we are so much more comfortable now than we were in past years that we will never regret getting this done; our only regret is not getting it done sooner. Thank you so much, Insulwise!

We have yet to see any energy savings, as promised on their website. Taking weather changes into account which was about 25% colder so far, we also used about 25% more gas to heat the home at the same settings. On the plus side, the room above the garage and second floor bedroom below the attic are more comfortable and less drafty, so we 'll keep tabs and hopefully we'll see better results in the summer with a/c usage.
