I was having Kettering Home Care, ( therapy) per Dr Reeves, for my knee that I broke and had surgery... They started at first by coming weekly, now the past 2 weeks no one has come .i called the phone number on my packet they gave me...no satisfaction...no returned calls... I called the girl that is over the therapist, no help, only gave me a phone number.. I finally had to call my surgeon and report it... This is not acceptable...I also will report this to the Main Office.. read more

Really poor service and communication among the staff.... I was to have my dressing changed 3 times a week following foot surgery!!! This week alone I had no one show up on Monday because my assigned nurse was sick. Received a text saying they would not be out until Tuesday. On call nurse did come about 6pm and took great care of me. A nurse did arrive on Wednesday, but she had little knowledge about my dressing changes and kept asking me what needed done. She read from my records and stated that I was not to have my dressing changed anyway until my next wound doctor office visit. Which turned out to be old outdated information, and my wound doctor did still want 3 times a week dressing changes. She left without doing my dressing change and homecare had to send the on call nurse out again later that day to take care of my dressing change. On Friday I had an appointment expected and unfortunately my cast/bandage cover failed and my dressing got wet! I didn't worry too much since a dressing change was scheduled. But no one ever showed up!!! I called homecare at 12 noon and 4 pm only to hear " I am sorry...we just have no one to send out", so I was rescheduled for Saturday. After waiting for them all day Friday with no communication, I no longer trust that my Saturday visit will happen!!! Words cannot express how frustrated and angry I am with their horrid service.....oh yeah....that's right...."I am sorry" But will my foot heal properly with slipshod attention!!!! read more

Released from hospital after foot surgery, and I was supposed to have Kettering Home Care show up to change the dressing on my foot every day. I called them for four days, and no one showed up. When I saw my wound doctor the next week, fortunately my foot was fine. After telling them about the lack of care, the PA called Kettering and fired them. I am receiving great care from another agency. read more

I received a call Tuesday 3/18 that I would receive a call from scheduling on 3/19 to have a nurse visit on Thursday 3/20. I called scheduling at 4pm today as I had not received a call and was told to expect a call in about an hour. It's now 6:45pm and no call. Unsure if a nurse will be here tomorrow. I've been with KHC for nearly 2 years. For about a year I had great care but that was because of the nurses and therapists who knew how to navigate around the road blocks this company puts in the way of not only their patients, but also their best workers. Now, I've moved, and also switched insurance. Because of Medicare, they have to discharge me every time, then start me over as a new patient. Apparently, they give their staff no history of the patient, even for a move or change of insurance discharge. So, not one of my new caretakers knew that I am a continuing patient with KHC and that I am not supposed to have strange men in my home, due to PTSD. Today a new nurse shows up with a male trainee in tow. No one asked if I'm okay with a trainee coming, particularly male. My wounds are in my groin area! After I calmly and nicely tell them I can't have a male nurse in my home, they both stay there! He doesn't leave. She doesn't suggest that he leave. My speech therapist, who is still there, finally says it might be better if he steps outside. DUH! In the meantime, I'm getting more and more upset by the second! The nurse is trying to explain why I'm being discharged and is asking what kind of care I actually need. When I tell her I'm unable to wash my wounds or apply first aid care to them myself, she asks if I've considered living in a facility. I looked at her for a couple of beats, then calmly asked her to leave. She does. I didn't want to have a complete meltdown all over her. If I wanted to live in a facility, I wouldn't be receiving home health care! I have a small dog and I highly value what little independence I have. I have fought hard for it and I have made vast improvement over the last two years. A few hours later I get a notification from my doctor's office that someone from KHC called them to tell them I refused my nursing visit! WHAT THE BLEEP?!!!! How DARE they blame the patient for their lack of care and concern for my wellbeing? Whatever you do, do NOT use KHC! read more

I initially got about aid right after extensive foot surgery. The bath aid did not help me get in and did not help me get out and when I was sitting down she said that her phone needed charged after a half of an hour of me falling trying to get the blow dryer and trying to get the brush thinking that she left she was at my door half hour later for me to sign her phone so she could get paid as I said prior I didn't even know she was there she was waiting in her car. I have had no orders for dressing changes for shower chair for bedside commode really for anything I did all of my orders myself and PT wants to come on 6:00 p.m. every Sunday and I guess I can't get PTA because that's the only slot they seem to have available. My surgery was 3 weeks ago and I still haven't gotten any supplies. This establishment needs a lot of help moving forward to say the very least. If you're looking for quality. Right after surgery my first dressing change was supposed to be sterile and she put the same bloody, filled, sweaty bandage back on my incision site? That's begging for infection. Just FAR stay away from this agency and spread the word! Get your loved ones some quality home health care as you will not receive it here in my opinion. I just had a visiting nurse come out to change my sterile dressing. She left nothing over my sutures. ~The saddest thing that I think of it all is the rings that she left behind on my foot due to her severely tight bad ace wrap, it restricted my circulation as it is now turning purple, very swollen, and hot to touch. As a nurse I knew what she did was utterly wrong!! I took off the ace wrap and this is what i found. I am glad I did because the lack of circulation could have caused me to lose my whole foot and if anything does happen to my foot due to their negligence, they will be SUED! This is horrible experienced for us. My husband came home from the hospital and we waited a week to let this agency sent someone out . Two ladies named the same first name, took my husband in a bedroom ask him if he is happy with me, two minutes coming in the door. Is our house paid off , would he like to move in with one of them. Then my granddaughter stood beside the door listening to these crack heads, they was crazy. He has dementia with bi polar and they are asking him to move in with them. What kind of wife am I. This is suppose to help with therapy for walking, . I wrote a letter to the supervisor at this place and even called. I called the doctor that recommend this place. What has physical therapy have anything to do with our home is paid off. Do you have a walk in shower or if you don't , you need one NOW they both said. The WORST company, ever! I was a patient for about 19 days. The first Saturday, 85 degrees, low humidity, dry. Two people out with the flu. I get Sam, the on call nurse. He calls and asks if my wound is bad I said yes, I must have someone else change my dressing. His solution.....go to the ER. In other words, I do not want to come out. He did. The next Saturday, someone rescheduled me for Sunday, without telling me. This chick said 7 to 9. I went to bed at 9, no show. The following Wednesday, a nurse comes. I call Friday, " oh you are not scheduled until Tuesday." Someone is supposed to come THREE days a week. read more

My stepfather had open heart surgery at Kettering Medical Center, and his PCP ordered home health through Kettering. The hospital staff were awesome, but the home health was useless to us. I called the day of his hospital discharge to verify he would be starting services. They said yes, they had the referral, and they would be calling the next day to schedule. The next day they called at 3:09pm and said somebody would be calling later in the evening to schedule the NEXT day. Third day home, and we still haven't heard. I called again, and was told they had staffing issues and all I could do was leave a voicemail with the scheduler who never returned my call. Useless to us, and very poor business practice to not show concern for patients. read more

We had two older ladies coming out suppose to be physical therapists one ask us how long we been married, was our house paid off, did my husband sleep with me, and then this went on and on, i refuse to allow her back in the house so she had a older friend that worked in the agency and she came and did the same thing. said the same thing i reported this to the high up lady and she said she would have a talk with her. didn't do no good, she ask where we was moving to , she was upset if we was getting a bath tub in the other house or not. he can't have a tub she said. she said she knew the lady that lived there. wasn't that a privacy issue. she showed up 3 times no calls and massage his neck until it was raw and just questioning him . i said no more. i can do that and i do but not raw. no thanks the only sane worker was the one worked with him on memory. read more

Do not use this agency if your reason is you want access to test results on MyChart. The nurses can drop off bloodwork to any lab which may or may not be tied in with MyChart. Do not use this agency if communications and return calls are important to you. You will have to call repeatedly on the same day to get a sense of when the nurse is coming out. The "on call" nurse is responsible to call you but don't expect it will be in a timely manner. You will need to do this every day the nurse is to visit. Generally, the agency will not keep you informed. It was as late as 10:00pm one time. Do not use this agency if reliability is important to you. Bloodwork has been lost with no follow up or acknowledgment to the patient or the doctor; nurse never showed up on the day promised; bloodwork was held in the nurse's possession for hours before being dropped of to the lab and it was so late that it wasn't recorded as received at the hospital until the next day; and orders were not followed twice with bloodwork to be drawn. Do not use this agency if a consistent nurse for your home health care is important to you. No nurse was assigned as was our understanding. Every day a different one showed up at anytime that fit in their schedule. There was no schedule for you to plan your scheduling of doctor appointments, infusions, or meals. Do not use this agency if you are expecting the same level of care you once got with this agency. Changes have been made that have caused this agency to be unable to deliver the care you might have seen a long time ago. Nurses were good. read more

Do NOT choose this company for your home healthcare needs. Company is not willing to work with your schedule at all; insists that you be homebound even if your insurance doesn't require it. When my nurse of over a year quit (she was GREAT) they sent out someone who didn't even know HOW to start an IV. I was also given a hard time on the phone about whether or not I am homebound and asked intrusive questions about where I was going for the day. Not that I owed anyone an explanation of my situation because my insurance doesn't require me to be homebound; but I work from home and cannot have the IV while working. Apparently I'm not allowed to have a job from home, which restricted my availability to Tuesday's and Thursday's- it's not that hard. When they finally send a replacement nurse out, she told me she hadn't done an IV in a long time. This is nursing 101. I felt bad for her because she tried 3 times and got blood all over the place. She seemed so nervous; but on the other hand she should have told her superiors it had been too long since she'd placed an IV so they could have sent someone that knew how. I primed my own bags, instructed her on how the tubes connected, and felt generally nervous that she had no idea what to do. Not only was it unnecessarily painful and messy, but many of my supplies were wasted in her multiple attempts to get the IV. I have great veins and am not a hard stick. It is not that nurse who should take the blame for this, it's KETTERING home health care's management that should be ashamed of themselves for not requiring all of their staff to be freshened up on the most basic of skills. I was promised a nurse who was more familiar with IV's and though the next nurse knew how to do an IV, she too took two tries. Why is it that in a year of service, my last nurse got it every time, the first time? Next I told them I had to skip the following week because my home was undergoing construction from water damage and I couldn't find time for work, construction in my home, and my fluids. I was also considering that due to mold remediation, a nurse may not necessarily want to visit during that kind of upheaval. I said I would call to schedule for this week. I called today to find out that they had discharged me for not being homebound. Even though this isn't a requirement of my insurance, they said it's their policy. So, if you, like many other chronically ill patients, also intend to lead a life as well as have a medical condition or have any type of home emergency, just know this company doesn't allow for that. YOU must be at the mercy of their schedule, their incompetent nursing staff, and their horrible management practices. Shame on them for treating people who aren't well this way, life is hard enough without having to be hassled just to receive required medical care. read more

I was fortunate and had a really good team that communicated and co-ordinated with each other. Emily (nurse) Maria (bath aide) and Ryan (PT) were excellent...and WAY overworked. They were extremely good at their jobs. Only issue for me was they were so busy it could be hard to schedule sessions that fit into everyone's schedule. read more

Lady didn't know who the referring doctor was and did not want to answer any relevant questions about what her purpose or motives were. "Since I can see you have people who obviously care about you I am going to just leave" was what the lady said. I got a very bad feeling from this lady, she seemed sneaky and underhanded. I would give 0 stars. I was to be given daily wound care, they did not show up for days, no calls, on hold for an hour. One nurse actually put the bandage on the wrong side, sticky side up....Rude phone/nurse representative Esha refused to give me any details and told me to do it myself..."said that is how home health care works" .I said so you are going against my surgeon's orders that home health care is to do it daily. She siad we did it for a while, now you have to do it! She refused to give me to any other representative in the company and hung up on me. read more

Terrible service. No communication within the organization or with your doctors. Come in and ask same questions. Different nurse/therapist every time. Unsure what they believe their purpose is. I was released from the hospital with total knee replacement. Therapist called 8 days later to say there on there way. They didn't show.

I was assured by the social worker at Southview hospital (Kettering health network) that Kettering home care was excellent. I however have not had that experience. I have wound care from a port removal due to sepsis. All of the nurses have been very nice . However I have had to tell a couple to wash their hands and change gloves after they used them to touch stuff in their personal bags. One nurse had no idea how to even handle my wound.. I had to teach him.. which I was assured again by the social worker and company that all are wound care certified and rns. This nurse was lpn and had to be walked through the dressing and packing change.Also they do not have any kind of schedule set. I understand times are rough with all that's goin on in the working field of little staff. I also have had to cancel plans due to them not giving a heads up on times. Calling my insurance and trying to see if I can change company. Some of the nurses were amazing but the scheduling thing is completely ridiculous. I have a life too. I have had to call multiple times about a nurse if they were going to show up. To be told, we'll we haven't assigned a nurse for u today yet! Wtf?? read more

My husband gets no replies when he calls. The nurses don't return calls and don't schedule the time they will come. He has an ileostomy and doesn't eat out of respect for them. The only time they schedule was the first time and that woman just sends you back to their phone number - who says "they make their own schedule" and they do nothing. It is after 5:00 and like many other times, he hasn't eaten all day and has no idea if they will even come today. There have been days they didn't show up at all. One of their nurses admitted this is a problem - then do something about it! Use any other organization but this one if you want to know when the nurse is coming. If you don't mind waiting and not knowing when or if they will come, they so send nurses who seem to know what they are doing. A different one every time. Use Fidelity! We had them when my husband was going through chemo and they scheduled a week in advance. We wish we had not gone through Kettering. The surgery was done at Kettering and this was a huge mistake. Premiere uses Fidelity - go there - run there as quick as your can! read more

Kettering Home Care is an absolute joke. My mother was released from Grandview hospital to their home care. A nurse came the next day. Hooked up antibiotics to her pick line. She came back the next day on Friday, told us the line didn't need flushed, that she would do that twice a week when she visits starting on Monday. She hooked up the meds that Friday morning, but when my mother woke up the next morning at 8am the meds were still full and she hadn't gotten any of it through her IV. I called their "24 hour care" and they tried to walk me through hooking up a new ball of medicine myself, thinking the one was faulty. They said if it doesn't deflate any by after noon to call and let them. At 2 i started calling every hour or so. Long story short, I was put off for about 5 hours while they claimed to make phone calls and send emails. Finally a nurse called at about 730 pm to tell me she's on her way from Springfield; almost an hour away. My mother's condition had deteriorated so quickly that I had no choice but to call 911. My mother was transported back to Grandview and had to have surgery. Now she's home again, with a colostomy bag, and these health nurses are doing no better than they were before. Her bag is leaking as i type this review, and an hour later we are waiting for a call back from Kettering home care about when they'll have time to send a nurse here. It's pathetic honestly, and if i could give less than one star I most certainly would. read more
