I was impressed by the variety of styles available, and everything I sampled was exceptionally well crafted. The food was excellent as well. The poutine was a standout and tasted every bit as authentic as the poutine I've enjoyed in Canada. It's not always easy to find great food at a brewery, but Ommegang delivers on both fronts. The setting is truly remarkable. Located on a 140-acre former hop farm just outside Cooperstown, the property feels more like a Belgian monastery than a brewery. The beautiful buildings, open spaces, and wooded surroundings create an experience that is worth the trip all by itself. The grounds are impeccably maintained and provide a perfect backdrop for enjoying a pint. Having been open since 1997, it's clear that Brewery Ommegang has had decades to refine both its beer and its operation. Everything feels polished, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed. Hands down, this is one of the coolest breweries I have ever visited. We were tempted to lick the sauce off the plate. We refrained so we didn't get strange looks. I had the Kimchi Reuben which is made with house made kimchi I might add. My husband got the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. We both opted for Poutine Fries for our sides. Guys, this food was unique and spectacular. I'm just bummed it's 3 hours from home! A canopy of umbrellas dangle from above giving a whimsical yet effective cover from the sun. The menu is rather extensive and offers a nice variety. I ordered the Druthers Smash Burger and my wife ordered the Braised Short Rib French Dip. While we waited for the food our waitress brought out complimentary homemade potato chips along with a dill dipping sauce. The chips were light, crispy, and cooked to perfection. The dipping sauce was tasty. The burger and french dip were excellent. They have a nice variety of beers to choose from. I was curious about Uncurious. It is a New England style IPA and after trying it, I declared it the best beer in Saratoga Springs! My wife had D-light. And I honestly think it is the best light beer I've ever had! Service was friendly and professional. Turns out our waitress shares my wife's occupation (teacher). They had a nice conversation. She was super friendly. If you ever find yourself in Saratoga Springs I highly recommend Druthers Brewing.

There's typically about 20 beers on tap, and there's enough variety and familiarity - combined with flavored hard seltzer pours - to satisfy anyone's wish list for a flight. The space is comfortable, to allow conversation to flow freely among your own friends and everyone sitting near you. And don't forget about the dogs demanding your attention at this dog-friendly site. I appreciate the growing number of breweries in the Glens Falls-Lake George area, but honestly, if I'm coming to the area with friends, we'll come here first.

We learned the history of the brewery and were walked through their entire brewing process. We had numerous flights to sample their beers, and the staff were kind enough to curate them for us based on what they though we would like. The beers were excellent! We ended up remaining here for quite a while, sitting at their bar, and talking about the area, life, etc. It was the most pleasant interaction we had while away in Lake George. The tasting room is really cool, featuring lots of wood, galvanized metals, cool artwork, etc. It was an awesome atmosphere to be in to try some great beers. We will 100% return!
