I am very unhappy with this practice. Yesterday, I was having some strong symptoms of what I believe could have been the flu, body aches, soar throat, terrible headache. The tech who seemed to be extremely unsure of herself checked my temperature by ear, as a grown adult I do not see that being the best way to check my temperature but I didn't complain. Then I was sent next door to speak with a visiting doctor, I sneezed and asked for a tissue, first off why aren't there any tissues in the patient room? She went to look for some and came back with Dunkin' Donuts napkins? I said you don't have any tissues in a doctors office? She shrugged so that's what I was left with. She told me a tech would check me for strept, I clarified which tech because I wasn't feeling confident about the young lady who took my temperature. It was her, she swabbed my cheeks like it was a DNA test. I asked her to go ask someone if that's how you are supposed to do it, because I've been tested enough times in my life to know you need to uncomfortably stick it down my throat. I also asked her to ask someone to have me tested for the flu since it's the end of the season and I have some symptoms. She never came back. I wound up finding another tech and explaining that I wasn't properly tested for strept, she agreed and retested me the correct way. I then asked about a flu test she said I needed to talk to the doctor about it. I'm thinking it's a freakin nose swab why are they making this so difficult!! I went back to the crammed patient room / closet with no tissues and asked about the flu test, and the doctor disagreed and said I didn't need a flu test that it was simply upper respiratory issues. At this point I just wanted whatever she was going to prescribe and get out of there. The offices are unkempt, weird stains on the wall and I'm in this little room with the doctors purse and Dunkin' Donuts breakfast, very unprofessional! She then asked me about my allergies and I explained my large range of outdoor allergies, and she laughed. I'm sorry but why are my allergies funny to you? None of this is funny, give me your professional advice and let me go! Finally, the first tech entered in the wrong pharmacy, she never reconfirmed the address or phone number. I took my phone to the front desk and said here write down the pharmacy info, and then I left. When I got to the pharmacy not only did they call in an antibiotic but a flurry of other prescriptions we hadn't even discussed. My pharmacist is one of the most competent medical people I know so we both agreed this was overkill. But now that I lay here with very obvious flu symptoms, temperature, the headache, the body aches. I totally regret going to this office, someone else may have tested me for the flu and gave me a chance to take tamiflu within the first few hours, but now I'm just laying here suffering, clearly the antibiotics aren't working because nothing works for the flu unless you take tamiflu early enough. I'm miserable and will never go back to the office, nor will my husband. Back on the hunt for a good primary physician! read more
