Once we returned for the visit, my daughter had then been determined to have several cavities after being told it was just enamel discoloration. So dissatisfied! I got a rude welcoming saying that I was a few minutes late and they have a 10 minute policy rule. The dentist didn't even take the time to get to know us for a new patient. She seemed like she was in a rush. All she did was brush my daughter's teeth for 2 seconds, said she's done and left. She also had me hold down my 2.5 year old while she brushed her teeth. She didn't give me info or advice about anything. I told them my daughter was a thumb sucker and had nothing to say. Their website even says that they will talk about nutrition and ways to break a thumb sucking habit. They looked annoyed and we were rushed out the door without having done a complete cleaning/exam. Don't come here if you don't want to get ripped off.

She was just diagnosed with high functioning autism. I shared our diagnosis with the dentist last week. When we left yesterday I was informed that the doctor would no longer see my daughter. Even though she has almost always worked on her and her behavior at this visit was consistent with previous visits. . Her behaviors were typical of a nervous child and the appointment was finished in less than an hour. It was very disappointing that they decided after sharing her diagnosis that she could only be seen by a specialist. It seems the doctor expects only calm and compliant children in her chair. For those questioning how "bad" her behaviors were, she whined a bit during and was nervous for the gummy chair. After they let her feel it which took 1 extra minute she let them proceed. Once the doctor started the filling my daughter laid still and did not resist at all. The only thing she did was whine a bit. No yelling, screaming, running, hitting, kicking or pushing their hands away. I did have to give her some reassurance during the X-ray as well, but again it took maybe 1 extra minute of time. We walked back into the exam room at 4:20 and were walking out by 4:50. I will also add at her cleaning two weeks prior the assistant was rather impatient with her. I had to inform her of my daughters diagnosis and then her tone changed and she became much more pleasant and positive with my daughter. Which I found weird as this is a pediatric dentist so they should be positive from the get go. For any parents of nervous kids, or kids with Autism this is NOT the dentist for you.

We started going to this office as a second opinion after a pediatric dentist office in Charlotte quoted us a $6,000 estimate to fix my daughters baby teeth. She was three almost four at the time; I cried at the estimate and the dentist (at Charlotte pediatric dentistry) informed me that if I couldn't afford the work they could just pull her teeth. So we followed advice of a friend and got a second opinion and we met with Dr. Long. He knew immediately he help her . He did simple cosmetic work, fixed her cavities, everything that needed to be done for $800. He even let me ask him a million questions about health stuff and teeth and didn't treat me like I was stupid or discount my concerns. I am so thankful for him! They always let my daughter get her work done without gas which is wonderful because she is terrified. All around awesome staff too! I'm posting a picture of Stella with Dr. Dove who is also great and apparently has a similar "if it's not broke don't fix it approach" we have seen her a few times as well and really like her. By the way my daughter is now 8 and has most of her big girl teeth and is just fine without having done that original estimate for 6 grand.

Every single time i also had to remind them i had a child who was autistic and needed more time. not to mention because of the last doctor my daughter now lost a tooth due them!! When they told me it was the tooth that needed to be fixed, they worked on another tooth instead! I would recommend Dr B ONLY! DONT GET THE OTHER TWO LADIES BECAUSE THEY DONT CARE! My daughter just turned one and with only a couple of teeth, we decided to have them checked out just so that she gets used to dentist visits. We received a flyer for a free visit in the mail and made an appointment. The staff and doctor were extremely friendly, attentive and helpful. They answered all questions and provided great information on caring for toddlers teeth.

The last time I've gotten second opinion about putting 2-3 sealants on my 2yr old's teeth and both dentists confirmed that sealants would be wasteful. It was also confirmed that $4K worth of dental work on my then 4yr old was also unnecessary. :-/ Also I wasn't really comfortable with the level of comfort that the doctor provided for my child. She seemed annoyed with my child's nervousness many times and while her staff was stellar, I got the feeling they were tiptoeing around the doctor's mood. It really took a lot for me to write this, but I would just say some places aren't a good fit and this wasn't one of them for my family.
