This month marks my 10 year anniversary of becoming a certified group fitness instructor. As fun of…read morea hobby as this is, it means that I've had muscle knots in my back for the better part of a decade. I've had a number of massages over the years but it's never been a regular treatment for me as they are usually too expensive to maintain. Well after last week I'm singing a different tune... I walked in to Thai Well Centre after work on Wednesday and asked if they could fit me in for an hour long Thai Message. After glancing at the books the therapist said they could fit me in at 7.15pm. I arrived back a while later and was immediately taken to the treatment room. Once I had changed she came back, asked what kind of pressure I prefer, and got straight to work. She started in legs, moved up through the back and worked tirelessly until my body was jello. She was flexible when I told her something didn't feel good (such as walking on my calves haha) and accommodating when I asked her to skip my arms and keep working on my back. This place is no frills so don't expect to lounge in a robe while sipping fruited water; but you can expect to leave all of your tension at the door and keep money in your wallet. For €50 I was able to get one of the best massages of my life (tied with a place in Siem Reap) for a full 60 minutes. Thanks so much Dow and I hope to see you in a couple weeks!

I was in agony when I went to visit her last Christmas and she sorted me out. I went back to her a week later and I was right as rain after. My back started acting up again recently so I called Thai Well to see if I could book Mani. Unfortunately she doesnt work there anymore- she does however work in the Malahide Thai Well branch- so I told them to give me whoever was free. The girl who gave me the massage was lovely. She didnt go deep into the muscles like Mani- which I wanted - but the massage was very good. I would say for anyone looking for a regular deep tissue massage, she would be perfect. You are left to get undressed down your underwear in the masage room and then the masseuse comes in and does their thing. There is soothing music playing and it can be very relaxing. The staff are very welcoming and friendly- that the Thai way- and prices are good.

Unlike some other establishments here in Dublin, it is strictly their massage excellence that is given and wanted. Can't recommend enough. I just wish I had a similar business closer to me. My back and circulation has never been better and after a session I feel light as air and absolutely rejunvenated. It always amazes and worth every trek. Can't rate highly enough. I had a photoshoot and went there to get my eyebrows shaped. Firstly, I had to buy a mask that gave a big rash around my mouth, then I felt a lot of pain after the work underneath my eyebrows. I thought it was just because my skin was somehow more sensitive than normal but I found out the next day, I had a very bad burn under my eyebrows. I contacted them initially about the issue with the mask, just to alert them and help other customers and I got an email with a long explanation of how it was not caused by them and how other people were not affected. So I thought it was pointless to tell them about the severe burn I had. The pictures are attached. Today is day 5 and it still hurts quite a lot.

That's when I remember a poster I saw along the Luas line advertising a new Spa in Smithfield. I check on facebook, here they are ! 10.15pm : I decide to enquire about body wraps 10.30pm : I get a response that they do provide this treatment 10.45pm : I have an appointment for Thursday evening at 6pm 11pm : I fall asleep, content 1* For the reception area : As soon as I entered the Spa I felt overwhelmed by peace. The place is quiet and warm. Perfect combination. The beauty therapist is waiting for me to fill in some health related details - compulsory before starting any treatment. They even offer me some water without me asking. 1* For the changing room : The therapist shows me the locker I am going to use and explains what I need to do. The room is not very big but it has a locker with 8 section, for 8 clients at the same time. Each locker has a cosy bathrobe, some biodegradable underwear and slippers. There is also a chair in the room. 1* For the beauty room : When I am ready changing, the therapist shows me the way to the beauty room. The place is new and clear and well presented. The therapist explains the procedure for the treatment and then leaves the room while I slip under the towel on the beauty bed. There are plenty of little lights on the ceiling. I prefer to think of them as stars, that's the romantic me talking. 1* For the treatment : The first part is scrubing. I am on my back. Every limb is scrubbed thoroughly. I really appreciated that the therapist took the time to uncover every part one at a time. She even took special care to hide my chest with a smaller towel so that we could scrub my stomach without reveiling anything else. Then I turned over and again she scrubbed. Once this was done, I was invited to go in the shower area (in the room of course) and rince off all the product. There was a hand towel to help me, a bath towel waiting for me after the shower and an extra pair of underwear. She paid special attention to clean my feet before anything so I would slide on the floor. The rest of the treatment was smooth. I was covered in a very moisturising cream/mask which was applying with a relaxing massage. I was finally wrapped in a warm blanket over the towel. While I was 'cooking' the therapist gave me a scalp massage, which she had asked me permission for earlier in the procedure. Simply amazing. 1* For the timing : 75 minutes of pure heaven. 1* For the overall experience : I am so happy of how it all went. I left definitely relaxed and happy. I promised myself to go back very soon ! I highly recommend this place. Feel free to contact me should you have questions or comment and I will get back to you asap. Enjoy :)

We looked around online for a place that offered couples massage, as it was an indulgence which we wish to share. Anyway, we found Melody Holistic Spa & Beauty, and read all positive reviews. We also noticed that it offered a large range of treatments, all available at a full spectrum of time frames and price ranges for each. We decided on the hour long Couples Relaxation package. Though initially hard to find (it lies above a beauty salon and the entrance doesn't jump out at you), it ended up being worth the effort. Though the day spa appears 'no frills' at first, the massage room was spacious, tranquil, and peaceful. My masseuse was very confident, and even offered cupping on a tense area on my back. Very professional and knowledgeable. I left feeling free of all tension I'd been carrying, and this lasted for several days. My husband fell asleep halfway through his massage, so I know he was relaxed! I'll end by saying that we plan on returning, and Melody is a welcome (and unexpected) oasis in the midst of hectic city life. I want to try more of their offerings, and feel you get a great deal for your money and peace of mind. Thank you!

I was a little unsure of what to expect but was absolutely delighted with my treatment and have since been back twice! The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable and make you feel very welcome. I should mention that this place is not your typical "spa". I wouldn't go so much to relax, but more to be given an exceptionally good pedicure that leaves your feet feeling baby soft and perfect! I did not really expected anything besides a nice hour or so, but it was really great. The salon is located in Chapelizod so I was not familiar with the area but it is not very far from Phoenix Park and can be easily reached by the bus 66 from the city centre; if you're driving, there is free parking right in front. I booked beforehand and the service was attentive and polite, followed by a text confirming the booking, date and address with bus/routes tips. Nice touch! Getting there, they are located inside an artificial tanning establishment called "Sun beds". The place is small but it does the job well. There are the usual gossip magazines - which I gladly skip - and some comfy seating while you wait. I saw that they do several promotions, display products for sale and that the environment is relaxed. There were 2 people working; a man and a woman. It seemed a bit unusual but the man was doing feet treatment in several woman and he seemed very professional. After 15 mins wait I was greeted by Gemma. She was very friendly and very well-mannered. As I had arrived a bit earlier she decided to help me then, leaving her break for later; even though I said she did not have to do it and I could wait but she gladly did it, again being very professional. She took me to a corner where they have a massage bed (those with a whole to pop your head through......i'd love one of those for myself!) and a thin blanket. She massaged my feet with nice oils and fragrances and wrapped them in hot mittens and left it heating up for about 20 mins - it was soft and warm. Meanwhile she showed me the colours that were available for the tint process and applied it all very slowly and carefully. I had a full head/scalp massage - which stimulates hair growth - and my brows were trimmed just the way I normally do it - as she was asking if it was okay for me every now and then with the mirror. Also some more essential oils and a lovely mist were sprayed on my face right after the exfoliation. During the whole time I had headphones on with relaxing music to help me chill out. By the time you are thinking "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa I want this to last forever" it is over...I was feeling energized and happy. She gave me their price list and 2 cards that I can give to people I refer and they can get a massage/hot mittens/pedicure treatment for 39 euro. Plus she gave me plenty of water advising me to drink more and more at home as the massage tends to make your body really need the 2 litres a day. Lovely experience and I can't recommend it more!
