Very cozy and rustic creperie located very close to the Charles de Gaulle metro station, and right across the street from the Musee de Bretagne and Les Champs Libres.
I tried this place because the Lunch Menu caught my eye. There are two different lunch menu options:
8,90 for a galette and a simple crepe
14,60 for a galette and a dessert crepe
They also have a children's set menu for 6,90 with a plate choice, crepe/ice cream, and a drink
I opted for the 14,60 menu and ordered the Saint-Yves Galette and Crepe Locronan
Galette Saint-Yves (originally 9,10 if you order ala carte): crushed potatoes, caramelized onions, andouille sausage, honey mustard sauce
This one was much different than what I was expecting. There was a hefty portion of honey mustard sauce, and although it was good, it started to get a little too much, and made the galette slightly soggy. The andouille on the top was much oilier than I would have liked, and had many fatty parts to it. The inside was the best - the potatoes and onions were very soft and delicious. The galette itself was also much thicker than other creperies that I have visited.
Crepe Locronan (originally 6,90 if you order ala carte): caramelized apples, caramel sauce, vanilla ice cream
I usually don't get anything with apples, but since the dessert selection was limited for this menu option, I decided to give this one a go. The crepe, like the galette, was also much thicker than I'm used to, and it was a lot sweeter than other places as well. The apples were caramelized wonderfully, and gave it the most flavor out of all the other components.
My server was very friendly from the beginning - he acknowledged and sat me promptly, and when I told him I didn't speak French, he proceeded to speak to me in English, and was very helpful with the menu and any questions that I had.
All in all, the experience was great, and for a full stomach on 14,60, it was a great value (I paid around ~21 for the same portions at a different restaurant last week). However, I don't think I'll be back, simply because the bases of the items (the galette and crepe) were too thick for my liking. Nonetheless I'm glad I gave this place a chance! read more
