Kenya Prach is a well respected man in his community. He is extremely humble and is truly passionate about his work as a teacher and a human rights activist. He cares about teaching his students techniques in such a way to prevent injury, offering a lifetime of wisdom. It is an honor to have crossed paths with Master Kenya. And if you haven't read his book, "Black Stone Hands," let this be your sign to read his story! Absolutely powerful. read more

Great instructions, great workout, good people. Looking forward to the new location coming soon.

Kenya is the real deal. He knows muay thai inside and out. I can't praise Kenya Prach's teaching enough. His muay thai and MMA classes have totally changed my life. Kenya may have mastered the art of fighting -- but outside of the ring, he is patient, gentle, and humorous. Above all, Kenya teaches a philosophy of humility, respect for others, and compassion. read more

Kenya is perhaps the nicest, yet most dangerous fellow I am pleased to know. Having been in and around the martial arts scene for many years, I've rarely come across a martial arts instructor who is as honest, amiable and good-natured as he is, while at the same time incredibly knowledgeable and well-conditioned. I can't recommend Kenya highly enough. read more

Experience is what seperates Kenya from many other teachers. He has been competing in fights ever since he was a little kid! I'm sure that you can learn things from this guy that no other ordinary teacher will know. He is a master in MMA whether it's for a competition or street fighting. Kenya knows everything there is to know about Muay Thai, boxing, Jiu jitsu, and many more forms of martial arts. Kenya would be a very dangerous opponent to fight in the ring, but he is very humble and friendly outside of it. He teaches at two other locations near downtown SF. Give him a call for more details. Whether you're a beginner or a pro-fighter. I strongly recommend taking his classes. read more

Kenya is one of the best martial arts instructors you will find. It is simply stunning to see his depth of knowledge in whatever area you care to think of: punching, kicking, grappling, ground fighting, and so on. As an instructor, he has a method that's easy to understand and yet very effective, which is why you'll see people travel from quite far away (Vallejo, East Bay, etc.) to train with him. Terrific guy to be around as well. read more

Having practiced some form of martial arts for close to 20 years and having taught for six of them, I can say with confidence that Kenya Prach is by far the best instructor I have ever had the pleasure to learn from in any martial art. He is technically skilled, demonstrates infinite patience, and best of all- is a genuinely nice fellow. He promotes a friendly but energized atmosphere, teaches all levels at once and gives great individual attention. I'd recommend trying out his Thursday night class at 90 Welsh Street (4th b/w Bryant & Brannan). His prices are hard to beat too! read more

I feel very lucky to meet Kenya and learn from him. He is one of the best teachers whatever you are a very beginer or experienced martial art person. He takes care every student and know how to encourage and inspire people very well. If you are looking for someone who teaches real deal of martial arts and shows Southeast Asia styles ( also Pradal Serey & Bokator) inside and out, please come to meet him! I will training under kenya as long as I can live in the City. Kenya Prach! read more

What can one say about Kenya Prach that is not already mentioned on this page. He deserves nothing less than a 5 star rating. I have been under his tutelage for almost 4 years and I do not see myself abstaining from his classes anytime in the near future. He is a great combatant with tremendous experience, a stellar record, and a fighting spirit you can feel after so many years of dedication. What seems to be the most distinguishing feature about Kenya is his charisma and humble mentality; every class he walks around with a smile on his face. Come in and try a class, you will enjoy yourself! read more

This is the best place to get a workout! I have been one of Kenya's students for years and as a result have lost twenty pounds. The atmosphere created by Kenya is inviting and encouraging. People come far and wide to train learn from Kenya. He is truly a master of his art but is humble and caring. Kenya teaches lesson and values that go far beyond the ring. The classes are split up into 2 parts: stretching and warming up, and cardio and technique training. During this time, Kenya will go around helping his students one at time. I highly recommend this class to anyone looking for intense workouts and a great community. read more

I LOVE this gym. I've been training in the martial arts off and on for about 8 years and it is a rare occurance to find a gym of such high quality. After almost a year training with Master Kenya Prach, I am constantly impressed by not only his talent both as a fighter and as an instructor, but also his warmth. Master Prach began training in Cambodia at the age of 7 and started competing in Thailand at age 15 and was once even a national champion of Muay Thai in Thailand. He has trained in MMA, Taekwondo, Jujitsu, and Muay Thai and has over 20 years of experience teaching. If you want an instructor with experience and great attention to detail, this is the gym for you. The class is broken down into 2 sections, the first focuses on warm up and strength exersizes, stretching, and footwork and in the second Master Prach introduces fighting combinations to practice on pads in pairs. The workout is different everyday. I highly recommend this gym! read more

Kenya is one of the best teachers you'll ever have. He does it for the love of beating people up not the love of money. If you can make it down to Pacifica you should check him out and get ready to get your ass kicked into shape by a very nice master of martial arts. read more

I used to train with Kenya. Anyone from the beginner to the pros could use a little to a lot of advice from this guy. he knows his stuff no matter what form of combat it may be. Aside from being an all around great guy Kenya is the greatest trainer that i have ever worked with whether it be gym or fighting trainer. He has this way of motivating you beyond what you ever thought you could do. He has this innate ability to know how for you can push your body when you might not even know how far you can go. whether you are looking to get in shape and learn a little about the fighting world or if you are looking to go full bore and jump head first into it and get into the ring Kenya is your man. I wholeheartedly give Kenya a 5 Star review. Josh read more

I've been training with Kenya since late summer of 2008 and I continue to attend his classes at this new location. He tends to each student in the class, working with everyone on their strengths or improving on any weak points. It is a great way to exercise without feeling like it's boring and you really are joining into a family. I highly recommend this to anyone to get into shape :) read more

To say that Kenya is a great and amazing teacher would be an understatement. I first joined this class a few years ago just to lose some weight and stay active, but I found myself loving Muay Thai more and more every class. He is one of the few reasons I enjoy Muay Thai. He is a kindhearted individual who treats everyone of his students like family. He shares great wisdom and techniques with us every class that helps us improve and become better fighters. I would most definitely recommend this class to everyone. read more

One of the greatest fighter and teacher from Cambodia..... Kenya Prach has what it takes to change a beginner student into someone who is feared in the ring... if you are into Mui Thai or MMA and wanted to get better at it ,then Kenya is the best teacher out there - he cares for his student; he understands them. Most people would think that joining a gym or getting an instructor is only a waste of time, and that their only after your money! Well not Kenya... he will teach for free if only possible - he's goal is very simple - he wanted all of his students to be the best out there. ... read more

Through Kenya's teachings I have become a better fighter and through his actions I have become a better person. Kenya brings the understanding of the martial way along with the powerful technique of a martial art that was born for combat. It is rare to meet such a peaceful warrior. I would describe Kenya's striking style as that of a combination of Cambodian kickboxing, western boxing, taekwondo and kung fu; even though I suspect he might shy away for being called MASTER, it is more then well deserved in his case given that so many freely give themselves this title that should be for a selected few. If you are looking for confidence and courage within yourself to confront a possible dangerous situation with calmness instead of fear you will get that at Prach Academy and don't be surprised if you walk away with patience and humility if your journey is more then physical. read more

Kenya can mold even the timid beginner into a hardened warrior given the drive of the individual. He also is the type of teacher that will spend extra time with a student before and after class if you are eager to learn. The classes are geared towards learning traditional Muay Thai which is an intense cardio based workout. I have been training with Kenya for years and I refuse to go anywhere else. His dedication, caring, passion and kindness have proved to me and many others that there is not much better out there. read more

Kenya is an excellent martial arts instructor. He is able to strike that delicate balance between being critical and kind. He sincerely wants you to get better, and will work with you in spite of your limitations. We all have them, and martial arts, after all, should not be about ego. Many instructors may preach certain values, and put them on the walls and on their Website. But you get the sense that Kenya does not need to preach. He sets an example, and you can tell this by the dedication and skill of his longtime students. Unfortunately, with my growing family, I have always been an infrequent visitor and have not trained for some time. Health and time permitting, I may be back one day. read more

The best look no further. The honest and most open martial artist with the best instruction there is to have. Words cannot express how much I'm indebted to him and look up to Master Kenya. Just do it! read more

Kenya's technique, whether it's muay thai, western boxing, or mma grappling is superb and second to none. What makes his class stand out is his humility, and genuine desire to help his students learn. It's not an environment for macho, insecure, tough guy wanna-be's because the best fighter in the room happens to be the most amiable and humble; poseurs will feel ridiculous being around him. Kenya really knows his stuff and his knowledge is deep. read more

i've been training under kenya for about 3 years. started out boxing, then started picking up some kicks, and have now added some bjj. his patience and attention to detail are unmatched. there's always something to learn from kenya whether you're just trying to get into shape or preparing to step into the ring. i've tried other gyms and found that they mainly emphasize conditioning and basic techniques. kenya doesn't hold back on advanced techniques and provides detailed explainations. it's always interesting to talk fight styles or strategies with him. if you're even remotely interested in martial arts, i highly recommend you check out kenya's classes. read more

I just moved from Florida to Half Moon Bay in August and Kenya Prach's Muay Thai Academy has been a life-saver. I had trained MMA in Florida for 6 months, and after moving to California I spent two months looking for a suitable gym to train at. After a horrible experience at HMB MMA, I decided to give the PAC Academy more specifically Kenya's Muay Thai class a try. That was in November and it is February now; it has been the best decision I have made so far since moving out here. I have a physically demanding free-lance job where I wont have work for a couple of weeks and the 4 days of Muay Thai help me stay physically in shape when I'm not working. On top of that the overall experience within the class is excellent, everyone is positive, enthusiastic, and pushes you beyond your limits. Kenya is a joy to have around and has incredible knowledge in several forms of martial arts. He trained in boxing for the Olympics during the 80s and fought Muay Thai as a child growing up in Cambodia. I have yet to meet an instructor anywhere I have trained at who has more experience than he does, he is the real deal. His classes are not just for people who want to fight in the ring, he gives one on one time with everyone and is always willing to go beyond that to explain something. Whether you are a professional, training to be pro, or a beginner his training is designed to cater to any of those. I came into the class with some knowledge of boxing/kick-boxing but the 2 months I have spent with Kenya have opened up a completely new style and understanding of fighting for me. As you can tell, I highly recommend it. read more

Theres a lot of teacher in the bay area and Kenya is definitely one of the best. Kenya is noted as the "Black Stone Hands" during his fighting days because of his speed and power. His skills, combos, and techniques shows that he is a well experienced fighter and have mastered it. His expertise is not only in muay thai but he is also an expert in boxing, grappling, and other forms of martial arts. His techniques are all effective and always going for the KILL. Kenya is a true champion because of his discipline, skills and humility. He is also very approachable and easy to talk to. I have been training with Kenya for about 2 years now and would not go anywhere else. I would highly recommend his class if you are looking to gain the right skills or just looking to loose some weight. His classes are for all, whether your a novice or advanced.
