I have never in my life left a food establishment feeling as disgusted and concerned as I did after…read morethis experience. I was genuinely excited to try this restaurant. I ordered a $27 fish sandwich at the counter and sat outside on the patio with a friend to enjoy the sunny day and beautiful view. We were sitting within about five feet of another table, with other customers also eating nearby on the same patio. While we were eating, the women at the table next to us began loudly complaining that a waiter had spilled something underneath their table. When we looked over, there was a large pile of a substance on the ground that appeared to be food. The women believed it was something the waiter had spilled. We sat there for approximately 10 minutes next to the substance before anyone came out to clean it. When an employee eventually came outside, she was wearing gloves. She picked up the substance with rags and threw it away into a plastic trash bag. She then came back with what appeared to be a single sanitizer rag folded up and wiped the ground. From what we could see, remnants of the substance remained afterward. The area was not mopped or otherwise thoroughly cleaned/sanitzed. About five minutes later, we realized what had actually happened. A person returned to that table with their legs visibly covered in what appeared to be their own human feces. They then sat down at the table and attempted to clean themselves up while my friend and I were only a few feet away. There were also other customers eating on the same patio. I felt terrible for the person involved and was trauamatzied that they'd sit back down, but what happened next is the reason I am writing this review. Our concern is not that someone had an accident. Our concern is how the restaurant responded to it. Once we realized what had fully happened, my friend and I immediately left the patio. My friend went inside and politely asked the cashier if he knew that a customer had had an accident next to us on the patio. He calmly said yes. He knew about the situation and said that someone had gone outside and cleaned it up. That was incredibly concerning to hear. The restaurant knew what had happened. We had been sitting approximately five feet away, eating our food, while the affected area was being cleaned. Other customers were also sitting nearby. None of us were informed about what had happened or asked to move away from the area. We then politely asked for a refund. The restaurant gave us full refunds, which I appreciate. However, when we explained that we were concerned about the health and safety of the other customers who were still sitting nearby and may not have known what had happened, our concern was quickly brushed off. And honestly, that was the part that shocked me the most. I understand that accidents happen. I understand that employees may have to deal with incredibly unpleasant situations. I am not criticizing anyone for having to clean up an accident. I am questioning the sanitation response afterward. From what I personally witnessed, material that we later realized was human feces was picked up with rags, the area was wiped with what appeared to be a single sanitizer rag, visible remnants remained on the ground, and customers continued sitting and eating only a few feet away. I am not a health inspector, but to me this seemed like a public safety hazard. I do know that I would expect a restaurant to take an incident involving human waste seriously and to make sure the affected area was properly isolated and sanitized before continuing to seat customers there. That did not appear to happen. What makes this especially upsetting is that the staff knew about the situation. This wasn't something they were unaware of. We were quite literaly eating nearby while they knew what had happened. If we had not happened to notice the person returning to the table, we would have had no idea what we had been sitting next to. We were eating a meal. Other people were eating meals. And the restaurant knew what had happened. I genuinely cannot understand why the patio was not immediately cleared or why customers nearby were not at least moved away from the affected area while it was properly cleaned. Again, this review is NOT about the person who had the accident. I genuinely felt sorry for them. It is about the restaurant's handling of the situation and the apparent lack of urgency around sanitation while other customers were actively eating nearby. I am sharing this because I would want to know if I were another customer. Based on what I personally witnessed, I left with serious concerns about the way this situation was handled. I hope the restaurant takes this seriously, because pardon my language, but what the fuck. And I was the one who had to go in and ask for my own refund. smh. When i sat next to human feces at lunch.

The exhibit thoughtfully showcased pieces from her early years, detailed maps of her sci-fi worlds, her actual typewriter, video footage from a Q&A session, and artwork inspired by her writing. One of the most memorable features was a giant "tree" display filled with her books where visitors could actually sit down and read -- such a creative and inviting touch. Admission was free, with donations accepted, which makes this an easy and worthwhile stop for anyone even remotely interested in literature, art, or science fiction. The space itself is stunning and clearly designed with art exhibitions in mind. The location is also convenient -- just down the road is Denver Ave with several restaurants if you want to grab a bite before or after your visit. Parking is limited, but there is some street parking available nearby. They also have a small gift shop, gender-neutral restrooms, and very friendly staff who made the experience even more welcoming. As I enter, the first thing I see are three questions in red: What was the price our ancestors paid to call this nation home? What did they sacrifice for the American dream? What was promised to them for their blood, sweat, and tears? As I abstracted my time with DeepTime Collective's wall of many clocks, I walked along various artworks that caught my eye. Gabby Severson, Jaleesa Johnston, and Ebony Frison were a few of my favorite artists from this show. The artworks are powerful and imposing. They catch you and keep you in. The artists speak from places of nostalgia, memory and lived experience. However, I couldn't help to think that the works respond to questions that have already been in conversation for a while. 250 years, who doesn't know what the price is? And so, as Bayo Akomolafe has asked about the Black Lives Matter movement, to whom would this matter to? This certainly is nothing new for marginalized folks who live with those questions everyday, whose ancestral histories on this stolen land is defined by sacrifice, blood, sweat and tears. From struggle to preservation to perseverance, the artworks are analyzed by folks who beg for answers to questions they created.

I give this company 5 stars easily…read more My daughter was traveling for the first time to Portland International. She missed a shuttle that a college was providing due to her flight being delayed. She had to go all the way to Eugene which is a two hour ride. I found Portland Luxury on Yelp and the owner Billy put me and my wife at ease. He tracked my daughters flight information, picked her up directly at the airport and texted her before she landed with all of the directions on where to meet. He even texted me when he picked her up and at the end of the ride to confirm she arrived safely. I am from the New York area and did not have a connection in Portland but I am so great full for Billy and Portland Luxury. He was a guardian angel who made sure my daughter got to her location safely. I recommend this company to everybody. If you are landing in Portland give Billie a call!
