So let me take a moment to shower praise on Marcos and his company Kensmarc Electric. My wife and I recently bought a home close to Old Town Orange that was built in 1969 and unfortunately had all aluminum wiring. As such, for safety reasons my wife and I decided to rewire the entire house. Because it was a such a big job we had several electricians come out and give estimates. The price that Kensmarc Electric offered was SUBSTANTIALLY LOWER than any other bid. However, that low price did not mean inferior quality. In fact, I have never seen a person take as much pride in their work as Marcos took in his. In my prior home, built in 1950, I had sections of the house rewired. Generally, electricians tear out chunks of the wall, rewire the section that needs replacing, and then leave. On their way out if you're lucky they give you the phone number of a drywall installer they know. But Marcos took great care to make a small as opening as possible in the drywall. He also saved the drywall pieces he cut and labelled them so the drywall installer could replace them without having to cut identical pieces of drywall. Marcos never tried to upsell me during the job. This is something I really liked about him. Too often during the job a contractor will call you up and say, "you need to buy a blah, blah, blah...and it will cost an extra..." There were a couple of points were he took me aside and explained to me options I had. For instance, he told me I could replace the original panel, but if I had plans of adding additional circuits (I did for the garage) that it might be better to add a subpanel. He explained to me the pros and cons, the cost, and potential benefits. I'm no electrician, so the time he took to make my choices clear was appreciated. Marcos brought my entire house up to code, and made many changes to my electrical system that made it easier to access and more efficient. He was honest and trustworthy. I promise you, if you're looking for an electrician, you can't find a better bet than Marcos and Kensmarc Electric. read more
