I have lived here for a few months, and so far, I am thoroughly pleased. The staff in the office, so far, has been very helpful. The manager who had been working here for years recently retired and I was sad to see her go, however, her replacement seems to be doing a great job. The general appearance of the complex is very well kept, and I have no complaints. A few neighbors struggle to pick up after their dogs, but either another tennant or the maintenance staff picks up their slack because it's usually gone within a few days. The garbage compactor, recycling bins (huge plus for me) and mail is all centrally located, and the staff will sign for small to moderate sized packages and hold them for you. They will leave a note in your mailbox letting you know you have a package at the office within hours (this was a huge issue at my previous apartment complex). The gym is small but the equipment is up to date and it is always clean. I have not yet used the tanning bed or the pool.
The apartment complex is gated and each tennant receives a different code to the gate. However, since parking is limited, visitors must park outside the gate, in the lot by the office. Parking is not assigned, and if you come home pretty late, finding a spot may be somewhat difficult. Carports are available for a $35 monthly fee. There has been a car broken into since I have lived here, which isn't too uncommon for the area. It was near the back gate (remains locked shut except for when large delivery trucks/ moving vehicles get stuck in the parking lot), which has a large gap between the bottom of the gate and the ground - one can assume someone simply climbed under the gate. My previous apartment complex (located in University Place) also had a problem with car break-ins, so this doesn't have me overly concerned.
I am thrilled with my unit! It is a studio, which is exactly what I wanted, maybe a little overpriced but much less expensive than what I had been paying at my previous apartment complex. The walls are all repainted prior to a new tennant moving in. Carpets were not new, but had been professionally cleaned. They had a few small stains, but I have a dog so I did not mind. For a studio, the floor plan is very open yet allows the tennant to arrange furniture in a way that different areas can be partitioned off without seeming to small. The appliances are old but well kept. The storage space is limited, but again, it is a studio apartment and that is to be expected. This may just be my unit, but I have a stacked washer/dryer and it is practically brand new and it's probably my favorite part about the apartment.
Most of the neighbors are relatively friendly. They do have a 20 pound weight limit for dogs. The complex is small, which I really enjoy because the staff remember you and are extremely nice. I have no had any maintenance issues, but you can submit work orders online (a perk for someone who had to visit a rude office staff in a previous apartment complex) and I always see the maintenance guy actively out and about getting things done.
This is all I can think of, I will edit as time passes with any changes. read more
