I have been into Kennington Post office at least once or twice a week over the last year and find the owner/woman in charge unfriendly at best and very rude at worst! The service provided is efficient but that is if you can tolerate the atmosphere!
The lady in question was away on holiday recently for several weeks and the post office was a totally different place and a joy to use. The man (husband I presume) was polite, warm and welcoming and the temporary staff were lovely.
after today, I will only visit this post office out of extreme necessity! I was the only person in the shop. I arrived at the post office counter, said hello, smiled and put my first parcel on the scales. A lady walked into the shop behind me and the woman in charge totally blanked me and asked the other lady how she could help! she left the post office counter and walked to the front of the shop and they started a conversation about a paperround!
After a couple of minutes, I picked up my parcels and left the shop! I was astounded by experience which was so unprofessional and have come to the conclusion that customer service is dependent on wether you are a 'local' or not!
Thank goodness this sub post office is based in a village with a high percentage of OAP's that require the post office service to collect pensions etc, as if the survival of their business were based on customer service, I feel that the success of the business would be in jeopardy!
I will be continuing to use cowley Post office from now on. Although they are very busy and there is generally a queue, the staff are all warm, friendly and professional and the general level of customer service, despite their heavy workload, is fantastic read more
