I have been seeing her since November, 2023 to correct a very neglected mouth. She has the vision and foresight to know how to correct my problems (crossbite and multiple broken teeth). She has an extensive range of professional colleagues for referrals, if needed (orthodontists, periodontists, and oral surgeons). My last appointment was a long 6 hours in the chair, and much of that time was spent laughing and sharing stories. (Who laughs and jokes while in the chair at the dentist?! Me, now that' I've found this fantastic woman!) Not only that, but her own professional staff is also second to no one. They are absolutely fantastic. From scheduling, referrals, chairside manner, billing, and KINDNESS, they are on their game. I feel so blessed to have found such a talented, caring, and professional team. The dental assistant, Mimi was friendly and made sure I was comfortable. She even offered me a paraffin wax for my hands while I waited. I kindly accepted . What dentist office does that?? I'll tell you, none! Anyway, Judee my dentist finally came in to do the exam. She explained what she would be doing before she ever put a tool in my mouth. I felt like I understood what was happening during the entire exam. Plus I was relaxed with the little paraffin gloves on. When Judee was done she and Dr. Cheryl Mora reviewed my charts and X-rays and together they came up with a plan for me. Within the last month I have gone in for a 2 part deep cleaning and to have a cavity filled. Each visit has been very pleasant and believe it or not...no pain. Oh yeah...they also sent me a birthday card/video that was really cute. The entire staff took part in it ending with Dr. Mora's face falling in a cake lol cute. Dr. Tatch is out of dental Network, and he was on vacation anyway, so I decided to check out a different (rather new) in-Network surgeon 3 miles from my home, and that guy gave me a page of "smoke and mirrors" with "big discounts" and a bunch of "IF"s and contingencies and additions, and that's before new implants, so I went to NorthShore Center for consultation anyway, and... OMG,.. I met Dr. Yost Smith, a very kind, patient, competent, intelligent, and detailed doctor, and I was so impressed that I scheduled my implants removal and bone graft right away for the next day, and - Attention! - their plan/estimate was lower than the other so-called "in-Network" guy. Next night something in my mouth woke me up - it was my 2 fused implants that fell out on their own. Dr. Smith was very skillful and patient again answering my new questions, and he never charged me for implants removal, no games or questions asked. The staff has been always amazing for the last 20-25 years, but this time I met a dozen new associates who were very caring, friendly, and skillful. Wow, what a great experience! The operation was fast,and I only had very mild pain and bleeding on the first day. I didn't have to take any of the painkillers that I had prepared before the surgery. I did using the frozen pea to cold patch the surgical area constantly for the first 24 hours and warm patch after. After 24 hours, I only had a little bit of discomfort and no swelling. By third day I was basically feeling fine. It's been three weeks since the surgery. The only thing I need to do is avoid crushing and hard food, and wait for another two months for it to heal.
