I still really like here. Visited here on Sunday for some spruce to my colour, a healthy cut aka 4 inches and a blow-dry. The fact that a salon is open on a Sunday is great. My Saturday tends to be quite busy so it's nice on my chill out day being able to come here. With getting hair died and cut, it can take 2+ hours so often late nights don't give you enough time. Stephanie did my hair and she was brilliant. She listened to what I wanted and gave honest advice. Another salon has previously left me unhappy as the hairdresser wanted to do a certain style. Not here. Stephanie got that I don't want to dye my hair often, like how light my ends are but not my roots. So she effectively did some balyage highlights on just my roots. Which also saved me money. As for the chop, I needed 4 inches as my hair hadn't been cut in almost a year and needed a refresh. She styled my hair in a light wave which I really liked it. I felt done up without tight tight curls. As previously mentioned - a decent coffee, nice atmosphere and a really good experience. I would recommend here for sure read more

Booked for a hair up by carmen- the store manager. Was my second visit in a month as was really impressed the first time so eager to go back again. Arrived only to find out that the junior stylist was doing my hair up and not what I had booked and paid for! She was a lovely girl but had no idea what I was looking for and only after an hour of trying to figure it out I had to just be content with a - half up half down style. Completely not what I wanted but didn't have anymore time to waste as had to get to an event in Edinburgh. Never going back again and won't ever advertise it as good to anyone. read more

I have been here twice and i am impressed by the service. First time I got my hair put up for a Grad Ball the stylist did exactly what I wanted, even thought my hair was very long! Was a bit on the pricey side but I did really like it. Made use of their stand by wash and cut offer (£29 not £24 as my hair is long) and they were able to see my straight away, offered me advice on hair care and did a lovely job of my wash and trim. Will 100% be going back for a quick tidy up. read more

I love Kennedy and Co! Been about 6 years since I first got my hair cut here, and I wouldn't go anywhere else now. I always get my hair cut by Robert - he's amazing and I completely trust him and his opinion on how to cut my hair. Never had a bad cut in 6 years and his chat is always good too! All the staff in here are lovely - so friendly and welcoming and always with a wee smile on their faces. Lovely salon, lovely staff. Highly recommend it. read more

I've visited Kennedy+Co in 2013, 2014 and 2015 using a 5pm deal. The first time I was delighted: I got a complimentary cup of tea, the hairdresser (Juliet) listened to me, understood what I wanted and the salon was clean and quiet. My haircut was perfect and I promised myself to come back! When I came back, six months later, Juliet took care of me and pampered me like the first time! However, the atmosphere of the salon was different: I got to wait 15 minutes before getting my hair done, hairdressers were chatting with each others: shouting at each other's would be more accurate, they asked me twice if I wanted something to drink... I had the feeling that it was messier, not very well supervised. The third time I came, Juliet wasn't there and Nicole cut my hair. The result was okay, but again everything else was disappointing: the girl who washed my hair used way too hot water, no magazines were provided, the atmosphere was not professional at al. The quality of the service was decreasing everytime I was going there. After my last experience, I decided to go for a new hairdresser, I tried Anderson's hair for a 19£deal on itison it was perfect! read more

I booked an appointment for 16:30 on Thursday 17/02. Despite having am email from 5pm confirming the time, the salon was adament that my appointment was actually at 17:00. They failed to take responsibility for this, claiming either I was mistaken or it was 5pm.co.uk's error. Whilst waiting for my 17:00 appointment a girl asked if id like tea or coffee. She then returned 15min later asking if i wanted milk or sugar. After another 15min I saw her leave! I never did get a coffee! The cut of my hair is awful! I have long hair and a full blunt fringe. The hairdresserhas cut my fringe far too thick and wide. It resembles a bowl cut!! The colour is not too bad, although far lighter than I asked for. During my visit, the girl that cut my hair and a male assistant chatted to each other about places they like to go out, coming into work drunk. I should really have left then. The girl was clearly not paying attention to what she was doing, hence my horrific haircut. I think im going to have to get hair extensions weaved into the side of my hair! AVOID!!! read more

I've been here a few times and really like it. The staff are really friendly, I've never had to wait for my appointment, I always get offered plenty of magazines and coffee, and I've always been happy with my haircuts. They always take the time to dry my hair properly (even though it takes forever!) and check what products I want in my hair before using them. Would highly recommend. read more

Like these other yelpers I was not impressed at all by kennedy and co. I was going on holiday the next day and had bought an online deal to get my hair done and had booked in for an appointment at 12pm. When I turned up early the receptionist was quite flustered and it seemed moderately busy. She explained to me I might need to wait a moment which was fine and I took a seat. About 15 mins later she came over and asked me if i could come back another day! I explained no I was going on holiday and she went away to find out if I could come back later on that day. She came back and asked me if I could come back at 4.45pm! at this point I was quite angry and she said this was becasue the person in front of me had turned up late. (I dont understand why I was being sent away) I live very far away from here and there would be no point in me driving home and back in this time so I went to my friends house. There were no other appointments available anywhere, I did try. So I had to go back at 4.45pm having not packed yet for my holiday as I assumed a hairdressers would keep to a time and I would have the day to do this. When I did finally get my hair done it was a good cut but there was too much hassle. There is obviously no organisation in this shop and the professionally was appalling. Do not go here! read more

I was really disappointed with this place. I haven't had my hair cut in over a year because of bad hairdresser experiences, but it was in real need of a good tidy up. so when I spotted an Itison vouicher for a cut and blowdry with Moroccanoil treatment for £16 I snapped it up! I phoned to book my appointment and was able to get a slot for the day I wanted - a week before my friends wedding. Appointment was for 12pm on a Sunday. I turned up 20 minutes early and waited outside as the shutters were down (even though their own website states they are open from 10am - just as well I didn't go to the shop to make the appointment!) and when I tried the door 5 mins before my appointment it was locked, but someone came and opened it for me when they realised I was waiting. I was welcomed in and offered a tea/coffee which I declined and they kindly offered me some orange juice as an alternative which was nice. My stylist wasn't in yet, so they decided the best bet was to wash my hair and wait for her. Luckily she decided to turn up just as i was getting settled in the chair (10 minutes after my appointment time. She asked where my parting was to be, and when I said left, she started to part it on the right. My hair is just past shoulder length with no layers or fringe and all I wanted was about 2 -3 inches off to tidy up the dead ends. 2 days later, I am starting to discover chunks of hair about 1.5-2 inches longer than the rest, one side is longer than the other and it's pretty much uneven all round. I also had to remind the stylist to apply the moroccanoil treatment (she insisted it was applied when I got my hair washed - even though she wasn't there when it happened and hadn't spoken to the person that washed my hair!). So annoyed (especially that I didn't notice this at the time) and even though it was a reduced price, still an absolute waste of money. I'm now going to be out of pocket while I go elsewhere to get this fixed, and lose another couple of inches of length in the process to even it out. Fuming mad as I'm trying to grow my hair for my own wedding! Strongly advise avoiding this place. read more

I (also) have not had a good experience with Kennedy and co. I have been there 2 times now. The first time I was happy with my hair and the experience I had. When I went to pay I was told that I owed nothing.?!?! They had told me I had booked online (which I hadn't!) I then informed them that I had not prepaid- paid for my hair and left. On the second occasion I had called to confirm my appointment at 3 o'clock. They said nothing about being understaffed and I should come at 3. I wasn't even looked at until 4. Then had 2 different stylists doing my hair as no one person was available. When I went to leave I was over charged by £15 pound. As the owner had already left and just the stylist was there I left the salon. After a couple of days I realised that my foils must have sagged leaving a horizontal streak around my hair (only noticeable when I have my hair half up and half down). After ALL of this I email the owner Helen to explain my frustrations. Helen agreed to let me come in and have someone look at my hair. I then went to the salon to explain that I am still not happy with the price- especially now that I am having to spend another afternoon coming back. Helen said to me, "I don't need people like you in the salon, I will give you your money back and you are not welcomed here." Even calmly explaining that I am happy to come back and get my hair fixed- and that I am just upset about £15 pound extra charge- she gave me my £80, and I walked out. I want to explain that through all of this I was NOT in any way being unreasonable. Thanks for the refund though! I wouldn't go back there if she gave me another £80. (Note- my stylists there have been very good- this is not a reflection of their work, just a result of a very bad manager!) read more

My review is almost a mirror image of that of Rachel R so clearly no lessons have been learned by the salon. Went for a trim - 1 inch off length with layers tidied up and fringe sorted. Came out with bowl cut with fringe cut to above eyebrows in manner so ridiculous that am embarassed to leave the house. Said to stylist that was unhappy with it so she hacked more off it making it now, not only far too short, but uneven and with gaps. Only went here as needed appointment this week and usual hairdresser fully booked. Obvious why there are spaces here - people have learned lesson and not returned. Am really upset at the mess that has been made of my hair, and that it'll take a good 6 weeks for it to even look normal. Disasterous experience. read more

I booked an appointment with Jasmine online. I had heard good reviews of the shop and thought I'd give it a go. Got there 20 minutes early and was put in a chair within 10 minutes. Jasmine was busy with another client and she didn't get to me for another half hour. Although I had brushed my hair in the morning, I had been in the wind and it had become tangled. Whilst applying bleach to my hair, she stopped to go and apply bleach to another persons hair for half an hour before coming back to me. She then dragged a comb through my hair which snapped quite a bit as it wouldn't slide through all the bleach, especially the way she applied it - the ends of my hair are ruined. They had problems with the water pressure so had to use jugs at the sinks. I ended up soaking wet all over my shoulders, the towel was dripping water to the floor in a stream. They managed to get water in my eyes, ears, and all over my clothes. I was put back in a chair for the next dye to go in, and spotted Jasmine washing someone elses hair despite there being four juniors on the shop floor. I waited for her whilst she went and styled another persons hair. She put the dye in, again, tugging and breaking my hair, and getting the dye everywhere. She then left me to style two other people which was perfectly acceptable. I had the same treatment at the water station. When I got back to the seat I waited half an hour for her to style me. She was annoyed I didn't want my hair backcombed, but it had already been so mistreated by her harsh combing earlier I didn't want it all breaking off at the roots. She gave me curls using her straighteners, and then fluffed her fingers through the curls, completely ruining them. I also realised at the end that I had entered the shop at 1.40pm for my 2pm appointment, and was leaving at 5.25pm. I was due to be in town for 6pm and still had to go home and get changed, do my make up, and get on a bus, so I was wildly late for a hen night. I paid £85 for a colour and style I could have done better myself in an hour for £8. Never again. My scalp is still sore from having my hair tugged so much. I am never venturing away from Partick-ular Cutz again which is next door. The only redeeming feature of Kennedy & Co was that they offered tea, coffee and water all the time, which I was grateful for. The place is sloppily ran, the hairdresser was, while pleasant, awful at her job and kept trying to sell me products, and the organisation in the shop is non existent.
