The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy - Flu shots! No line... just walk-in

Don't be confused with the pharmacy across the street... it's a different chain name but it starts…read morewith Med too - in the red brick building. Confirm the address because it happens a LOT! Covid protocols and only one person inside at a time, so I waited in my car until someone left. Pro tip: Don't keep yanking on the door and ringing the bell if it's not unlocked the first time you ring. Wait and press the doorbell again in a minute. They mask & sanitize after every client. I buzzed and handed over my prescription. The gentleman confirmed I had filled prescriptions there before and told me to wait in my car and they would wave me in when it was ready. The prescriptions were ready, they waved at me to come inside and pick up. The pharmacist confirmed I had an unusual dosage of one prescription and that they weren't able to give me more than one month of my asthma medications. They tried to give me three to save trips etc. and the Pharmacist went above and beyond trying to get me more, but my benefits/insurance refused more than one month at a time. This is the reason I come to this location - they think about making my life better and easier without me having to ask.

I wasn't comfortable, but I my concerns were ignored. I was told to look at cupcake pictures. And when I asked about how this was addressed, I was told that "everyone loves cupcakes". Nothing.

The closest to me would be the one on Whyte Ave and 109 Street. I avoid this one because I dislike getting in and out of that one's parkade. It can be quite difficult especially when traffic is busy or the bus stop right by its entrance is busy. It is also split into two floors. Back to this location though! I like that the parking is far more convenient. Although you have to be careful where you park. Part of the lot is paid parking so make sure you read the signage. There is some free street parking but that can be full when the area is busy since it is so close to Whyte Ave. I like the size and selection in this store. It is probably a small to mid-size version of a Shoppers store. It is open until midnight every night as well. They have a good selection for this size of store. With the merger with Loblaws they also are starting to have more and more PC products that you find at Superstores. I also like that they kept the funky retro neon sign from the old IGA that was at this location. It has always been a favourite sign of mine in Old Strathcona so kudos for keeping it.

Great selection, dope pharmacists, ample cartwheel space in the aisles. this is where I get my…read morechase on the way home from work.

I have a skin disorder and have been searching for the doctor who can cure just that. I believe…read moreonce you find the right doctor, it's hard to be judgemental after that. Trial and error, right? I've met Dr. Grewal from two different dermatologist recommendations. I am happy, and impressed that my skin disorder recovery is back to normal. Located on the second floor, with an elevator access or stairway. He is my favourite doctor ever since. Although he may appear timid, he is very knowledgeable, and open to suggestions. Waiting room is fairly big, booked appointments are quite quick and easy, from my experience no longer than 15min. They do light therapy treatment here. The only downfall is parking. Parking is confusing when it's packed. They have a few open stalls under the building which is a tight squeeze and if there is construction it's cramped to get out but still possible. More parking is further to the back of the building but you need to pay. If your lucky, try to park and quickly get your appointment done only if it's a regular check up, if not just pay the parking fee. This is why I think downtown parking is ridiculous. Never enough parking or oddly enough ridiculous parking payment nowadays. Staff is friendly. Maybe it's just me, you be the judge for yourself, Lol. :D Another thing to note is that their pharmacy on the first floor & carries most of their dermatology medical supplies which is a huge plus, saves you time from going to your local pharmacy that have to prepare it for next day or so. Recommended for people with skin disorders (P.S. you need a recommendation from your family doctor), & like I always say, you need to go through the process of finding your own doctor. This doctor may not be for you, but is for others. Keep that in mind & good luck! :)

Go somewhere else for assistance. When they transfer calls, they hang up on you. The Doctor that I…read morewas assigned to is never in which makes it difficult to get any help if no one is able to see you. Other doctors are not allowed to see other patients. I get the feeling the doctor does not want to lose their billing fee to another doctor. There has to be better dermatologists out there. Avoid this business at all costs.
