We first tried calling vets in our own area but they either weren't taking new pets or were scheduling months in advance. So we drive farther to get to Lakeside, but we are satisfied with them. The appointments haven't been too far in the future and we have liked the people we have spoken to so far. They are observing pandemic protocols, which are fine with me. You wait outside and let them know you are there, and someone comes out to talk to you and get your critter. Then an assistant or even the doctor comes out to talk to you. We needed a prescription for insulin for our Sunny Jim, and it was easy to arrange through Chewy.com. I can edit this review at a later date if I need to add details about the quality and cost of care over a longer term, but we are satisfied now and don't expect to be disappointed later. At this point I wouldn't even switch to one of the local vets if they got less busy.

We jumped in the car and my sister-in-law called Lakeside from the road, they said they would see us when we got there. On arrival we had about a 2 minute wait before they got us in an exam room. While we were doing this the office staff were contacting our vet in Rhode Island for medical records. We saw Dr. Paine whom I found to be extremely professional and caring. She examined our dog and spent a lengthy amount of time getting a history from us and diagnosing the possible issue. Dr. Paine then gave us signs of what to watch for and possible causes; she did a great job keeping us calm and delivering useful information to a couple of rattled parents. I found the office and medical staff at Lakeside to be extremely professional and caring. I've owned dogs and cats for 25 years and been to many animal hospitals, I would highly recommend Lakeside and would not hesitate to go back. Thank you!

After she…read morewas fixed she always had a later of skin that would look as if she gave birth to a litter of kittens. She always would vomit as well. No matter what I would feed her. Most of the time it was soon after she ate. She would barely make it away from the bowl and vomit. Something was done when she had her surgery as she was sick right after it was done and she never recovered. The people were not friendly at all and I didn't get a warm or inviting vibe and they never even called back to check on her. They called me at like 1PM to pick her up and she wasn't even fully out of sudation yet.

Paws and Claws was a disappointment. I brought my big male cat in for a grooming and asked what…read morethe cost would be. The owner replied "Well, it starts at $45 and then we see. We do the grooming, clip the claws and check for mats in the fur." I figure maybe $60 or 65. I come back in 25minutes and it's $75. Best I can tell they did what they said they're were going to do. So where's the difference? I expressed some shock and she largely blew it off. The kitty was not happy about the experience (it is his first) and apparently peed. Well, that's part of the business, is it not? Did I get charged $30 for the pee? I don't know but it was unreasonable to charge $75 for under 30 minutes and nothing special. The owner is mostly a fast talker and less personable. I will not return. Also, they have a sign up in the lobby that warns: Only CASH or CHECK.

Went to PayPal and made the payment at 6:19PM EST on 12/16/2018, four minutes after he texted me his full name as John Elliott so I could complete the PayPal deposit transaction. Looked at my bank account on Monday and the $250 cleared (was withdrawn). Followed up with him on Tuesday 12/18 to lock down the pickup details. He told me that he sold the puppy to someone else. Then he said I got the name wrong on PayPal it's actually John Elliot with one T. I'm looking at the original text and there are two T's, dirt-bag. Probably a pill popping junky. Couple of red flags here, his puppyfind.com ads instruct you not to communicate via email, he wants to communicate outside of the system via text. I have reported this shady seller to puppyfind.com who clearly does not do background checks on people, they let anyone post puppies on their site. I also contacted PayPal to recover my $250 deposit. Don't waste your time with this snake oil salesman 12/19 and he still has puppies listed as being available yet last night 12/18 he told me otherwise?

I thought I was dealing with a reputable breeder when we got there (a 3 hour drive) the place had Dog feces all over the yard. You can smell it in the air. So many breeders, have wonderful dogs, but knowing the breed and the sometimes boldness [our last one was] I was looking for a specific type. I narrowed down the breeders that I felt had dogs that were what I sought. The way Babette starts from day one with the touch and soft voices, then adds in belly rubs and so much stimulation that only adds to the fabulous personality. In the meantime since his graduation, my son got a Bull Terrier X, when Jameson was 2 and my son's birthday approached I asked if he wanted a second dog, a dachshund, YES! Babette had 2 litters and some were not spoken for.... I showed him what was available and he chose a shaded cream female....We watched her grow via the daily videos, with her siblings and the other litter. She was funny, bold and so rambunctious. My son named her Tullamore Dew aka Tully. She is now 2 yrs old as of Sept 2021. Not a day goes by that we don't laugh at her antics, adore her sweetness and devotion. She greets everyone, and loves to hand out kisses. Belly rubs will change this gal into this relaxed lump of dachshund and a sleepy girl. She lets you know it's rub time by tapping you with her paw. If you scold her, the head drops and she looks up at you with such soulful dark chocolate eyes....sorry. Personality to the moon! I read the other review.....breeders lives are controlled by their dogs, if a dog is whelping their focus in on that momma to be and 1 day or 2 may pass, be patient. They also have lives beyond. When I worked for 2 show kennels with many grand champions, many times we had a waiting list greater than pups that were born. So if we went through the list and we got additional inquiries....we responded to those people. However the first yes, we will take the pup is the winner. The others can wait for the next litter if they wish. Good breeders with good reputations when word is out they have a pup is available their phone/e-mail blows up. We sometimes had people on a waiting list for a year or two. Waiting for the right breeder IS WORTH IT!
