Think of it as a large farm with a rustic barn with roaming chickens everywhere. Even a few chickens inside greeting all the guests during our visit! The feel and look of the barn reminded me and my wife of our barn wedding! Definitely a spot during nice weather with so much space available and so much nature to soak up! Then their drink offerings are so huge and vast especially for this area of Maine. Give their house made ciders a try that are not too sweet but have tons of flavor. If cider isn't your thing then don't worry they still got you! Their drink menu is huge with beers from all over the world, wines, cocktails, and on and on. Then often they also have food trucks so grab a bite to eat or bring some of your own snacks if the food truck of the day isn't your ideal meal! The staff were phenomenal as well with their kindness and knowledge. Also often hosting live music as well so bring your friends and family for a night of drinks, live music and enjoying the outdoors. It's very much off the beaten path but an absolute worthy spot of taking a detour for! The dirt roads were very well maintained though I must say. Once you arrive they have a giant parking lot and then once inside you step into a beautifully designed rustic space. If the weather is nice they have some absolutely stunning views you can take in outside while enjoying your beverage. During our visit, I will say a large portion of the space was in use for a party/event. Despite this the staff were very warm and welcoming to our party and even tried to create a private lounge like space for us. I very much appreciated the effort they put to make us feel welcome. I wish the weather would have been a little nicer to enjoy outside! I got their vanilla hard cider while my wife got their blueberry hard cider. Both were phenomenal. They also offer flights for only $10 and even have suggestions for some mixing of ciders including a fan favorite mix of blueberry and maple to create a blueberry pancake. David serves flights of four of his ciders, or you can get half flights. He also has excellent snack plates with cheese, humus, a wonderful olive spread, and crackers. As someone who loves cider, this is a draw for me, not a hindrance. There are a range of ciders available, some reasonably priced, others rather expensive. However like wine, there are different reasons for pricing, so I wouldn't knock them on selling a higher end product. If you went to a wine bar or a craft beer bar would you complain that they carry top-shelf wine/beer? I would say you should expect craft beer prices, as that these are craft cider. Think smaller batches created by craft brewers, not mass produced by a major beer/alcohol manufacturer. You won't find a Magners here for $3. I enjoy the flight option they have, which I think is roughly $9 and you can choose from a decent sized list of ciders. It's the equivalent of ordering a single drink, but you can get a sample of some of the higher priced ciders before committing to a full size. It can open your eyes to the different flavors and complexities that can be found in cider, and not just the over the top apple juice sweetness of more mass produced ciders. The bartenders are all quite knowledgeable and very enthusiastic. They are very helpful if you are trying to pick out a cider that aligns to your tastes. In regards to the food, I have only tried some of the appetizers so I can't speak for any of the meals. I was mostly drawn to the appetizers due to the interesting ingredients. I'm not sure how many people have eaten spruce tips, but it was a first for me. The portions are definitely small for the cost, however I imagine you might order these on a special night out.
