Charlotte's real jersey icecream parlour…read more As soon as I heard about this place I thought as an icecream lover it would be rude not to visit when I was in the area so straight in the car and off we went into the beautiful West Yorkshire countryside near Dewsbury to grab some yummy icecream. I thought the setting was wonderful it was possible to see for miles around. I was pleasently surprised how much this place had to offer as if all that icecream and cakes wasn't enough for you there is also animals which includes donkeys, rabbits, goats, geese, and of course cows and a playground and mini golf. Yes there is mini golf with the most amazing views of West Yorkshire The icecream was simply delicious I have to admit it was difficult to decide from all the yummy flavours 24 in total lucky that it is possible to have scoops of different ones together in one tub. Also they sell large tubs to take away and store in your freezer. It is possible to eat inside the cafe or the is seating outside which is lovely on a nice day. We went on a saturday afternoon and it was busy this little spot seems very popular. Parking was free I suggest visiting the website for a map and details of how to find the place.

I am a big fan of ice cream and, consequently, have sampled a fair few flavours and makes in my…read moretime. I can honestly say, however, that this is the best ice cream I have ever had. Freshly made on site with milk and cream from the farm's cows, this ice cream is creamy without being sickly and comes in a huge range of flavours, from the usual vanillas and chocolates to tangerine. My favourite is hokey pokey, which I certainly recommend. It is a bit out of the way but definitely worth a visit. There's a car park and the cafe is accessible by wheelchair. The ice cream is available in large tubs to take home, and they also sell a wide range of homemade jams and preserves. They do bits of food too - toasted teacakes and fantastic bacon sandwiches. The staff are really friendly and it'd be a lovely place to go with the family. In terms of the farm, there isn't a great deal to see - a little walk and a couple of animals, but the cafe is the star attraction for me!

Tong Lane, Bradford…read more BD4 0RP 01132852728 This is more than just a farm - this is a b & b too so you can stay here for the night and take it easy or just call in for a couple of hours. The kids loved all the different farm animals and wouldve happily stayed there all day but we became a bit hungry so we needed to get food. There is a small cafe there with a few outside tables too and they do the normal range of small cafe foods - sandwiches/buns, etc with a nice selection of home made icecreams which were gorgeous. They do a nice cream tea which was very filling and gorgeous. The place as a bit hard to find so make sure you have directions before setting off. The prices are a bit steep but well worth it for a nice afternoon out or even a stay overnight. The place is nice and tidy with the exception of farm smells obviously. The staff are very friendly and even invited us into their house to look at their new kittens., how trusting is that? A lovely day out.

Oh, Lordy. The…read moretraffic was awful, and I'd spotted this place on the way to work, so it was just too tempting on a hot day on the way home. It's adorable- all big trees and cobbles, and the most enormous goat I've ever seen in my life. Everything was planted up pretty, and little old guys scooting up on their mopeds for a scoop. I'm 99% sure this is the best ice cream in the land. You can choose from so many flavours, I had fanuttytastic and carrot cake, the latter was particularly exceptional, but I was also tempted by the white mountain, the banana, the Turkish delight, the sloe and damson gin, the elderflower and rhubarb and the maple and walnut- so I'll just have to come back, won't I?

ERMAHGERD this ice cream is amazing!…read more Seriously, Snugbury's is a one of a kind place. A small little farm-style set up with an onsite creamery and a shop selling no less than fourty, YES - FOUR-ZERO - flavours of ice cream and frozen yogurt. Once you've made your decision you can plonk yourself on the numerous benches or prostrate on the garden lawn (if you overdo it on the cream) and there is also a short country walk if you'd prefer to burn off some of your sugar intake. Every flavour is churned on site and given a suitably cheeky name (think B&J pre-Unilever). They also have seasonal limited editions like Summer Pimms and have previously partnered with a local Cheshire bakery for an apple pie ensemble (with whole apple pie churned into it!). In the interest of research (and gluttony) I opted for the double scoop, one of 'Driving me Cherries', a rich chocolatey flavour packed full of juicy fresh black cherries, topped off with the creamiest coconut ice cream I have ever tasted. Most importantly they give good cone - if you're a selling me an ice cream in a wafer cone, then frankly you can shove your wafer where the sun don't shine! I want a cone of equal calorific value to its contents and Snugberry's deliver with their crisp and sugary waffle cones. A right proper handful. Tactical ice cream tip: the servers are real pro's with their scoopage, filling the cone completely. So if you are going to get a double scoop ask for your favourite flavour first to get the most of it. Am I over thinking this? Possibly. Do I care? Not a chance.

Most strikingly through their window, you'll easily see that their speciality is selling beautiful ice cream for your delights (at a cost)! However, you'll find a generous variety of flavours to make your mouth water. My favourite has to be Pistachio, which I found to be just as good as the one I had in Venice. Certainly worth the money if you enjoy it! As well as ice cream and hot drinks, they strangely combine their sweet business by offering a selection of savoury snacks, such as breakfast butties and soups with rolls. These dishes are are a bit pricey but when you consider it's prime location and fine dining experience, it is second to none. All this makes Rich's such a tempting place to visit and why not on a gorgeous day. "I scream, You scream, We All scream for ice cream!"

Although, saying that, 'geleteria' does sound a bit exotic and unusual, doesn't it? It does sound more enticing than 'ice cream shop' though, so I can see why they'd use that instead. Rich's is primarily a nice little café at the quieter end of Lord Street which offers its customers a pleasant atmosphere in a reasonably-sized area that gives shoppers the chance to take the weight of their feet and have a hot drink and a sandwich or light snack. However, where Rich's really excels is in its range of desserts. As their sign says, Rich's sells ice cream in a variety of flavours and colours, meaning even the fussiest person could find a flavour to suit their tastes (I usually play safe and stick to chocolate myself, but each to their own). Their dessert menu also features a selection of homemade delicacies such as sundaes and huge chocolate éclairs which at three quid are pretty expensive but are definitely worth it, as my éclair-loving friend will testify.
