After 14 months, I have just FINALLY settled my law suit with them and their insurance company over their completely inept installation of a water softener for my home. After they sent out 2 kids to install the softener, it spouted water out of the top and flooded my family room. They then lied to me and tried every way to NOT accept responsibility for their actions. They then tried to tell me that I should turn in the damages they created to MY insurance company, and they squirmed and tried their very best to avoid paying for their incompetence. PLEASE STAY AWAY from these dishonest and incompetent jerks if you want to do business with an honest and competent company........because they are NOT honest, and the quality of their work is less than a 13 year old off the street would do. I give them a NEGATIVE 10 for their review.

I thought that seemed a little steep so I called out another well driller. He tested the tank and found everything was fine, he did some more inspecting and found it was just a clogged filter and it would cost $5 plus the service fee of $90. It was the bad filter keeping g my pressure down. I still paid Thayer the exorbitant $125 service call but will never call them for anything again.

I had a bonehead moment yesterday as I frantically drove our UTV from our barn up to the house,…read moreacross our yard, because I was trying to flag down the FedEx guy. Ran right over our well cap and cracked the housing. I think my cursing was echoing up to a mile away, as angry with myself as I was. We had John from HL Thayer out today and he replaced the cap and sanitized our well for a fair price and was VERY customer-service oriented, explaining not only this procedure, but questions we have about our current well equipment setup. We just replaced the pump and tank in Oct 2011 through another company, and while they were nice folks, it turns out the installation they did for us is less than optimal. Some companies would have seen this as an immediate selling opportunity, but John instead took the time to walk us through it all, and recommended we just continue as-is until replacement becomes necessary, at which point we will reconfigure more optimally. Well, THAT is how you build customer relationships and not just make a quick sale - by establishing trust and educating your customer. Also, on a more personal note, he assured me that he was expecting much worse, because most times when well caps get run over there is far more damage - and that made me feel a little bit better about my boneheadedness yesterday. HEY! Psychological support at no extra charge! :) We will be using Thayer for all of our well needs moving forward. Recommended!

After reviewing both…read moreGoogle and Yelp reviews for well contractors in the area we settled on Wyckoff Well Drilling based on all the positive reviews where Google is a 5 star average! I called the business at 7:30 am, a time that most businesses of this nature were closed and was surprised to reach a human voice on the other end end. Seeing that we were literally out of water and in a lurch the owner, Robert, was able to juggle his full schedule and was get to our house less than an hour after contacting him. Upon arrival Robert was able to quickly diagnose our issue as a failed pressure switch and had parts on hand to effect the repair all within an hours timeframe. The service call with labor and parts came to $140 which was very very reasonable in my mind. I truly expected it to be much more due to all the price gouging I have seen in this area in the past and definately did not expect to be up and running again within 2 hours of my original call. Nice! Throughout the process Robert and his grandson Trevor were super friendly and explained what was going on throughout the process showing great patience with my questions as he went about the business of the repair. During the repair process he identified that the pressure switch had failed as a result of my 35 year old pressure tank being near end of useful life where the bladder was clearly starting to fail. He explained to me that we could get a few more years out of my old tank but the tradeoff was that my well pump which is also 35 years old was getting cycled way more than it should which could lead to a an earlier failure of that key component which would be a much more expensive repair on the order of $3500. At no point did he pressure me to replace the pressure tank but instead provided key data/information I needed to make an informed decision all the while stating I could push this tank replacement off maybe a couple more years. Being a retired engineer I appreciated both his honesty and candor where he presented the facts/data which is the way all contractors should act and most dont and let me make up my own mind where I decided to proceed with the replacement of the pressure tank in order to extend the life of my old more expensive well pump which he did two days later. No over the top pressure tactics here and the usual scare tactics that contractors like use. Again nice! Overall I was completely satisfied with the work he did on my well system and how he handled his business. Reasonable cost, first class work and a friendly demeanor are hard to beat in my book and I will definately contacting him for any well issues I have in the future. Five stars in my book.

Called half a dozen and Lyon's was the only business who picked up their phone. They initially weren't positive if they'd be able to come out the same day, but called me back to confirm that they'd be able to, and showed up exactly when they estimated. The technician they sent was extremely knowledgeable and entertained my idiot homeowner questioning. He confirmed that the well pump was actually running and installed a pressure gauge, which showed extremely low pressure. Then he asked me if my garage had water running to it; it turns out it had several gallons of water pouring out a burst pipe. We shut the water off to the garage and he confirmed that the house was building water pressure again. After all the work to inspect the pump, install the new pressure gauge and confirm functionality Lyon's charged me less than the plumber who initially came out. Would definitely recommend.

We started having trouble with our water pressure which was causing our geothermal heat system to…read moreshut down. With no heat we called three companies. One never called back, one called back 24 hours later, and Karen at Adams actually answered the phone! Although they were busy, because we had no heat she got a tech out to our house in about 4 hours. After some diagnosing, it was determined that our well pump had gone bad. I got a price for the replacement and the tech gave us a suggested upgrade that he said would solve the low water pressure we often had. I decided to go with the upgrade and fully expected that they would have to come another day to get my well, and heat up and going. Again I was surprised when he said that he would get it done now. 3 hours or so later I was back with water and heat. Now that was truly a pleasant fix worth a 5 star rating. But please read on as the following is what makes Adams special. When I went to pay the bill the amount was higher than I thought I'd agreed to. Rather than dispute it with the tech, I paid the bill and called Karen the next morning. I explained to Karen why I thought the amount would be lower and she told me she understood my point and asked me to give her a day to get with her tech and she'd get back with me. A day later I got a call and they said they understood how the communication error occurred and they would either void my check and I could send them a new one or they would send me a refund for the difference. I choose for them to send me a check and it arrived today! I won't say I was shocked it was so easily resolved, as my impression from the start was that they are a sincere and honest firm. I will say that I'm very appreciative of the professional and polite manner they listened to my side and then quickly resolved the issue. I whole heartedly recommend that anyone needing well service use Adams as I know I will! Oh yes, we love the upgrade that was suggested. Our water pressure has never been so good. It was worth every dollar!
