I met him at an open house; he was very aggressive. He was actively upset that we didn't have an agent, calling us "one of those." Even his business partner Zoe said "wow, that was aggressive" to his comment. We tried to gently say no thank you when he offered to be our agent and did not take that well. He became increasingly irate, to the point that my family was uncomfortable and eventually left. We are cash buyers. He spoke at length about all of the deals he's gotten for past clients, such as the time he managed to trick a seller into leaving $100k on the table. That made me think he was slimy. But he is experienced, so I asked him which neighborhoods have good views. He didn't want to tell me, as I wasn't his client (lol), and then he confused the terms Ombudsman and Arborist when belittling other real estate agents, citing their lack of knowledge on the trees in the West Seattle neighborhood. I found that ironic. It was weird that he tried to talk down to us using words even he didn't know the meaning of. I did correct him on what an Ombudsman was, though. After he stomped on the staircase very loudly and violently in response to us asking if it was a sturdy staircase, proving to us that he is indeed unhinged and unpredictable, we left. 2 stars because he has a nice speaking voice. read more

I met Ken about 13 years ago when he was the selling agent of a house I ended up purchasing. I hadn't met a real estate person like him before and as a fellow sales person I knew he was special. Since then he has helped me purchase and sell several homes. As I am currently living in another state I have worked with a couple other agents and no one comes close to meeting his sales skills and his attention to detail and knowledge. He always has had my back and has made sure all has been in line, whether it be details about the state of my purchase and making sure all of my bases are covered. Ken sold our Mom's house for us. He gave great advice but let us make our own decisions about things like timing, whether or not to do a pre-inspection, staging, pricing, etc. In retrospect, his advice was spot on. He really knows what he is doing, and he also has integrity and respects his clients. We ended up with multiple offers with escalation clauses, and Ken managed that auction day (the day we opened offers) masterfully. We feel he obtained for us the true market value of the home, which these days, is pretty high. It went for 21% over asking. Before listing, we had offers from people who wanted to buy the house directly from us. Some in the family thought we should skip staging expenses, skip paying a realtor, and do a for sale by owner. We know that a good realtor more than pays for themselves and we were right. But the nice thing is, Ken has integrity, so while we are happy we got the best possible price, we know the process was honest. If it's not clear by now, we recommend Ken without reservation. He is very personable and easy to work with. We never felt under pressure to put in an offer, but when we gave him the green signal, he helped us be very competitive. He also knew the market really well, and was very good at guessing the selling price of houses that were on the market. He also had good recommendations for mortgage brokers and inspectors and we never felt under pressure to go with his recommendations (we did go with his recommendations and they were terrific). Due to some personal reasons, we had to stop short in our search and did not end up buying a house.
