Would like to give Ken Fulk 5 stars for their design work that I have seen but working with them or I should say trying to work with them is a Pain in The Ass. My client and owners saw great work that they did in Sonoma at Three Sticks wine tasting facility. The folks at Three Sticks were very gracious and showed their property to us and event brought out Ken's book when we said we were building an event center in San Jose that we would love to work with their firm on.
So, Monday I called I started to try and set up a meeting. First turn off was no one answered the phone, kept calling back and someone finally answered and said send an email with the specifics to info@...
Did that and got an email back to meet with a "marketing director," sorry, not trying to sell you any marketing, but OK we'll take the meeting because my clients are so interested in working with your firm.
I set up a conference call for Friday 11 with all parties and just before the meeting Kate (the marketing director from Ken Fulk) says oops running late can't make it. Conference call 1 cancelled last minute and client is bummed.
I get it rescheduled for the following Tuesday that works with Kate and the client. I'm with the client and their partners on the conference call...and no Kate, no Ken Fulk, no nothing. I call Kate's cell phone, no answer. I call the main office and tell them I have people waiting for her on a conference call and they are potential client's that love your work. I'm told she is in the office and will send me to here line. Rings and rings and goes to voicemail (mind you I'm in the office with some of the clients).
Finally, I tell folks to hang up on the conference call (18 minutes later) and send an email to Kate saying, "We missed you on the conference call."
Our event center might not have been a huge project but my clients are tied into lots of big developers and San Jose may not be San Francisco but you just don't treat clients an potential clients like this no matter how busy you are.
Its now past 8pm the day of the meeting an no message at all from Ken Fulk. We're done. read more
