None of them will acknowledge me for several minutes whether it's busy or not. They sit there and chit chat among themselves. I will stand there staring at them for a few more minutes until they finally acknowledge me. It has happened to me many occasions. Is it just me or has this happened to other parents too? I just want them to be more attentive. What if I'm some crazy person with a gun or a knife? For our kids safety please be more aware of people walking into the office.

I came to know my best friends to this day at Brannan and for that I am thankful. Many of the teachers that I had during my time there are still there to this day. They are great teachers and amazing human beings who made my transition from elementary school to middle school so much easier. I visit them every time I can. The GATE program is also excellent and I recommend it. Enrolling in this program also makes it easier to get into a more advanced program in high school as well. My sister is about to graduate from Sam Brannan this year. There is no other school I wish she would have gone!

He is now thriving in high school, but I do wish that we had the experience we are having now with him when he was in elementary and middle school. My middle son is a transfer student to Brookfield and my youngest is starting out at the Preschool. About our experience: First, touring the school my husband and I were so impressed by the diversity, the ideology of the school, the atmosphere and the attentive nature of staff and teachers. Second, the fact that they have a preschool/elementary/middle school in one space is dream for us and the way that each grade level has their own space is also incredible. Finally, we were beyond thrilled that our children are not only learning the standard subjects, but they are also have Spanish, Music, P.E and computers almost everyday. This is above and beyond the majority of schools we have toured and researched. Since ISP took over and Dr. Jo left, the school has changed. My sense is they will take any child who can pay. There is also less accountability when there are behavioral issues and the school does not feel like a safe place to send a child any longer. Kids are getting hurt, and there is inappropriate conduct. The teacher professionalism and turnover is an issue especially given the price of the school. They've hired some folks who don't have experience or a credential. And folks have left mid-year which is really hard on the kids. The school bills itself as accelerated--sometimes this ended up as a positive, but other times it felt too fast and mastery was lost in the process. I also think parents should know that some of these reviews were incentivized by the administration. I think the real picture is more of a mixed one.

Venue: Luther Burbank High School Theatre [Sacramento CA]…read more Came here once on August 23, 2014 when I watched my hubby officiate for the first time a Sacramento Youth Football (SYF) game between the Burbank Titans and El Camino Jr Eagles. whoa... some of those 13-14 year old boys are bigger than him. Anyway, fast forward to 2023... my daughter and I attended a special event held in their school theatre. We watched a Hō'ike 2023 performance by Kūhai Hālau O Nohea. The size of the auditorium was very big and was nice that it's air-conditioned too -whew- because it got up to a sizzling highs 107° today. Cushioned seats were available on the first half of the theater closest to the stage which we were able to snag. This made it pleasant and comfortable to watch the show since the performance was three hours long. Non-cushion wooden seats on the second half of the theatre. I don't know what the capacity of the theatre was but it was a full house. Vendors were set up in the spacious lobby area of the auditorium. Bathrooms were spacious too. Nice venue. Review #3078

As parents, I think it's fair to say that part of the gig is wondering if you're getting it right…read more Like, constantly. One of the few things I'm certain of on this child-rearing journey is our decision to not only to attend Bergamo, but to stay beyond our initial expectations into the elementary years. We came to Bergamo through a neighbor. After multiple interactions with a young brother and sister that live on our street, I knocked on their door to ask their parent(s) what the secret was. My daughter was a toddler at the time and the conversation went something like this: "Hi. Your kids are AMAZING. What did you do?" Their dad thanked us but quickly passed any credit on to the Bergamo community. We were knocking on their door the following day. Now that I've met many Bergamo children, I know what it was we were looking for with that first knock. Children in this community are confident, aware, curious, generous, kind, thoughtful and, yes, smart. All the things that come with true belonging, which is what you get when you go to this school. (Is it just a school? It feels more like a family that learns and grows together.) Not only do teachers that are not my child's know her name, they know ours. The director (I could write a separate review about Laura alone) knows where my kid is excelling and where she needs extra help--and she is receiving it. When you walk into a Bergamo classroom, you'll notice a few things. First, the teachers are not standing in front of a classroom, they're on the sidelines waiting for the opportune time to engage a student or workgroup. Instead of a teacher-focused environment, you'll see students centered in an all teach, all learn approach. (One example: An older "reading buddy" comes from another class to work with my daughter, my daughter is allowed to visit a class below hers to help with things she loves that ultimately make her feel more confident and allows her to be contributor.) This approach doesn't mean the teachers are an afterthought, of course. My kid LOVES her teachers. I mean loooooves. Second, you'll notice order. The environment is beautiful, clean, warm, clutter-free and designed for the children that interact with it. The children are focused, respectful (to themselves, their peers, parents and teachers), and content. Last, you'll notice this other thing that takes a minute to articulate, at least it did for us. That thing, that sense of true community filled with children that are thriving, is what will make you stay and be grateful you found this special place. If you can swing it, it's the greatest gift you can give your child. I could go on (and on and on and on) about the things that make Bergamo unique and wonderful. This review is for the dog park…read more BEST dog park in Land Park. The owners are respectful and watch their dogs- it's a great group. They clean up after their dogs and they bring water. It's encouraged to bring your own bowl and water and there are drinking faucets if you need them. It's a safe place to socialize your dog. The field is grassy with little to no mud and has bleachers to sit on. There is a shaded area on one side of the park that has a few patches of dirt. The park is not fully gated so it's suited to dogs that have good recall and are not runners although the gate opens up to a residential neighborhood dead end. Unofficial Weekday hours are from 5:30ish till dark. Unofficial weekend hours are open.
