I met my friend and we talked, ordered a pizza. When round two came around for drinks, there was a shift change. The new bartender informed me there were two other silver tequila options for my margarita. I chose an another version to try. I'd like to know #1 why was I was treated rudely? and #2 why was I intentionally lied to about my drink options? Both are unacceptable from a server. Just a heads up to future guests. Otherwise, we enjoyed our experience with bartender #2 and hanging out for the evening.

We enjoyed an old fashioned and a quality bourbon from the bar, followed by manicotti for my wife and an excellent Toto Mare for me. Both were warmly zesty in the best tradition. Entrees we're generously portioned and well presented. Accompanying side salads were also very good. Prices were moderate. We didn't have room for desserts, but the chocolate lava cake and cheese cake sounded great. We're pleased to recommend Jeremiah's and will return when next in the area.

The bar is located in what appears to be a converted house that was formerly known as the Curve Inn. The bar is situated smack in the middle, facing the kitchen where burgers, fish sandwiches, stew, fried bologna sandwiches, and other quick items are cooked all day. The food seemed especially popular during my visit. To the left of the bar is a side room full of fast-food style booths, to the right of the bar is another seating area with bar tables. Behind that area was a game room through which the single restroom is accessible. I meant to check out the game room before leaving but I forgot, so I didn't see what all was back there. It looked like beer and liquor selection was limited, but probably sufficient for the needs of most. At this time there isn't a lot of decor and the walls are largely barren, but I imagine that will change over the coming months.

The oldest building in Fisk, this bar opened in the late 1920s as a perfect example of how little Prohibition mattered in the state of Missouri. The current owner, who was tending bar, has owned the place for about 55 years. My pictures don't do it justice but I love the woodwork in these old bars. Places like this are living history and I always enjoy finding them. Nothing fancy and nothing on tap, just ice cold domestic cans and bottles.

We didn't grab a drink this time, but I can easily see myself coming back, sitting down with a drink, and enjoying whatever they've got playing.
