Oh my gosh. Everything from Pomeranians to Labrador and Golden Retrievers and every breed, temperament and personality in between. It's easy to find trainers but it can be really hard to find a GOOD trainer! Over the years, we've spent thousands on dog behavior veterinarians, breed specific trainers, and your basic pet store group classes. All of these can work for some dogs, but not all. We lost our two black Labrador brothers this past summer to age related health problems. We were completely devestated. We didn't know if we could do it again until Jack decided for us. Jack is a male Bichon mix rescue, but who rescued who? Jack rescued us - literally ! When we got Jack home we wanted to start out on the right foot immediately. We used two online trainings - waste of money and time. We asked, searched and found several self-proclaimed and "guaranteed results" trainers. You had a time limited training. From past training experiences, if your dog didn't learn everything in that timeframe you were left feeling frustrated and confused as to what to do next. Then we found Adrienne at Bark Busters. They aren't inexpensive, but when we found out they would be partners for the life of our dog, we were hooked. In over 40 years of our dogs and training, Adrienne is the ONLY trainer who actually knows what she's doing. Jack began training as a timid puppy who then developed into a defiant teenager with an attitude. Adrienne has given us the tools and behavioral changes we needed to make to consistently provide Jack with age appropriate expectations. We now understand how to think like a dog and speak "dog". Jack is becoming calm and confident that we are the leaders and he can enjoy being a puppy. Thank you Adrienne!

They completed a two‑week boarding school followed by five follow‑up sessions, and the results have been fantastic. Quinn was professional, knowledgeable, and truly invested in our dogs' success. She did a great job not only training Nash and Parker, but also teaching us how to maintain and build on what they learned once they came home. The follow‑up sessions were incredibly helpful and showed how much she cares about long‑term results, not just quick fixes. We saw noticeable improvements in behavior, responsiveness, and overall confidence in both dogs. It's clear Quinn is passionate about what she does, and we felt comfortable knowing our dogs were in great hands. I would highly recommend Quinn to anyone looking for a skilled and dedicated dog trainer

She brings such a calm, knowledgeable, and thoughtful approach to training, and it's clear how much she genuinely cares about the dogs she works with. We saw real progress with our dog, Kendrick, in a relatively short amount of time. What truly set this experience apart, though, was how Quinn handled a scary and unexpected situation. During Kendrick's initial board-and-train, he had a seizure. Quinn stepped in immediately, took great care of him, and kept us informed while we rushed home. Knowing he was with someone so attentive and compassionate made an incredibly stressful moment much easier. On top of that, Pavlov honored the remaining portion of his training, and Quinn welcomed him back once he was ready to complete the program. That level of flexibility and integrity speaks volumes. We're so grateful for Quinn -- not just for the training, but for the trust and care she showed when it mattered most. Highly recommend.

My dogs think they need to be in charge and that's not good for any of us. I'm so thankful Sara helped me find my voice with Baki. He is so happy with the consistency and prompts we give him. I never thought I'd be one of those dog owners that has my pup under control when people come over, we go on walks, or at dog parks. But here I am using the tools we got from Sara living my best life as a dog owner. I love that she involved our whole family. Baki is actually my son's dog but I spend quit a bit of time with him. We have had several dogs over the years and we've spent a lot of money training them, and I never had the confidence I have now with Baki. I wish we had used Bark Busters with all of our pups. Having good training just helps life run easier especially if you're busy. I'm so excited to keep watching Baki grow.

I wish I could give this business, especially Holly a million stars!…read more We got our dog Poppy for free almost 2 years ago. We were her 3rd owner in her 3 years of life. It was also explained to us that she has been physically abused and dealt with abandonment issues. She was so anxious and fearful of us she actually escaped from us and was MIA for a solid 48 hours. Aside from being a flight risk, Poppy had a lot of other issues like anxiety pooping everywhere and being extremely fearful around new people, we're social and like to take our dogs everywhere with us but it's no fun when we worry for her safety and feel like she's not enjoying the experience. She improved slightly with time and made small improvements, but after over a year we knew we needed more help. Enter Holly of Bark Busters Denver North. I was very skeptical of paying such a high price, but knowing that it's for my dogs lifetime and could be life changing for her made us take the jump. I was unable to be present for the first visit, but when I arrived home from work I could immediately see a difference in Poppy. My husband was so excited to tell me everything he learned and all of the new skills we could practice!!! Over the next several weeks we continued to practice at home with the techniques taught to us by Holly. Our initial goal was to do a follow up 3 weeks after but due to personal conflicts it ended up being much longer. Holly was very understanding and accommodating. Her responses to our emails were prompt and professional. We just finished our second session with her, and the second she came through the door she noticed the difference in Poppys confidence. We discussed our new training goals and other things that we wanted to continue working on. Holly surprised us with a new leash and collar to practice walking and recall with. Poppy immediately took to the training and seemed confident throughout the session which was very different than how she behaved the first time around. Our next stop will be a brewery where we will practice socializing Poppy in the hopes we can eventually start bringing her to places with us and she can be confident. Thank you so much to Holly and BarkBusters Denver North!!!!

We have two dogs: a 6.5 year old, 80 pound Black Lab mix, and an almost-1 year old Corgi mix. The…read morelab mix has always been pretty good inside, but we got her right before COVID started, and whenever the door opens she freaks out and barks at and jumps all over whoever is coming in. Outside, she cannot be trusted off a leash, because she will just literally run away and come back when she feels like it. The Corgi mix is a sweet guy but we got our first notice from our HOA that we have a nuisance dog. He has been incessantly barking at the hallway when we're out of the house. Walking them together is a nightmare because they both zip off in different directions and you become an acrobat trying to manage the leashes. We attended initial 8-week training sessions at PetSmart with both of them, and they can sit and lay down, but anything more than that is wishful thinking, and a sit/stay does not really translate into actual obedience. Scott helped us fix almost all of that in about 90 minutes. Scott's approach is to talk to dogs like you're a dog. To get their attention, you basically growl at them, and imitate(!) snapping at them if necessary (I want to emphasize that there is no physical punishment for the dogs), and you assert leadership, and then when they are doing the right thing, you talk to them sweetly. My wife and I love this because it's so simple and consistent. We don't have to remember when to use "stay" vs "wait." Which hand signal do we use for this command vs that command? It's "bah!" and "gooood!" The first session was all indoor behavior, and since then we've had two sets of friends over and gotten the lab calmed in about 2 min vs 10 before. The corgi is much less growly/barky about hallway noises. Since we did leash training in the second session, both dogs follow respectfully on walks. Like, it was a near instant improvement. It's not perfect, but with the lab it's gonna take some time because she's had 6 years of thinking she's the boss! But the technique is so simple that it's easy to apply to new situations. The lab likes to jump up to steal food from the counter at my dad's house. A few "bah!"s with follow-up "gooood"s and that stopped cold after 5 years of it being a habit, and we didn't need to leash her the entire time we were there! It's expensive, but the speed at which we've seen improvement has made it very worth it, and knowing we can call Scott for any stuff that comes up in the future makes the price easier to handle. For example, we're hoping just the general increased respect/deference from the lab mix will allow us to eventually let her off leash, but if it doesn't, we know we can call to address that directly.

I have never left a review on Yelp - ever - but this business is such a scam that I feel compelled…read moreto say something. My dog is no better than before - we learned precisely one tactic that helps *some* of the time. Most of the time it's meaningless, and otherwise we've seen no improvement whatsoever. My biggest frustration is the combination of having paid an exorbitant fee to see no change, combined with the fact that the trainer spends almost no time with you and the pet, so you can't even pretend to feel like it was worthwhile. He comes for like an hour (or even less? I don't remember exactly -- I gave the process some time to take effect before leaving this review, so it's been a little while) and then leaves. This company says they train the pet owner to care for the dog, rather than train the dog his/herself, saying that the pet owner is who the dog will need to behave with long term. I should have just paid an effective dog trainer to take the dog or come over and train her -- I would've paid much less to have much, much better outcomes. In this case, the trainer stops by, tells you to do some things that aren't going to work, leaves you with a measly spray bottle and bag of pennies to throw down near the dog (not joking) and you're left broke, with a poorly-behaved dog at your side. Buyer beware.

Car rides were awful, we had to cover our windows so he would not react to people or dogs walking by, and he even reacted to cartoon dogs on TV. After Jose's 16 day program Otis came home like a completely different dog. Even after the first few days we could see his confidence growing and every group class showed more progress. Other dog owners even commented on how much he had changed. I truly never thought I would see Otis running around playing with other dogs but now he is a normal, happy dog. It has taken me quite some time to feel comfortable enough sharing this but other let parents…read moreshould know what they are getting into here. There is honestly no way I feel I can put into words how truly awful and traumatic of an experience that my pet, my husband, and I had with Dr. Cahill. I invited this Vet into my home under the guise of experience, compassion, and expertise, only for my cat to be horribly treated and having to harshly ask this man to leave my home and stop attempting to continue attempting diagnostics on my cat. Not only was he over an hour late to our scheduled appointment, but he had no other assistance when he arrived, such as an RVT or VA to assist with things like drawing blood. My cat is incredibly sweet and was very calm for almost the entire appointment up until Dr.Cahill incorrectly attempted to obtain blood. I had to issue restraining my cat while this happened and he was very well behaved for being poked. The issue arised when Dr.Cahill could not hit a jugular vein due to him not holding off the being in the thoracic inlet of the chest in order to dilate the vessel with blood; instead he insisted on blind poking the vessel over and over again with the same needle with no change until my cat started to vocalize very deeply; at this time I asked him to stop I was no longer comfortable with what was happening to which he continued to blindly poke my cats neck with the same needle until he ultimately urinated and dedicated all over himself and I. This is when I was more firm about stopping for the moment, even if we had to end the appointment without getting anywhere, however Dr.Cahill kept insisting that we try to get blood, even pulling out a red pillowcase-like sack suggesting that we put my urine and feces soaked senior cat into it and try again. At this point my husband and I insisted that he leave our home and we ended the appointment. This experience happened a while back now and it is incredibly difficult and painful to write about and think back on. But as someone who is now themselves an experienced registered veterinary technician, I know that what happened and what this doctor did was completely unavoidable and unacceptable for someone who is caring for animals; especially as someone you're inviting into your home, where there is no accountability of a clinic setting, such as cameras and other people being around to assist and also witness things that are happening. If you have read this far I thank you for taking the time to read my experience and I hope you take what I have shared into consideration to stay far, far away from this Vet.

Three days into having him and he dragged me down a hill to get to another dog. I love him, but he's an absolute psycho. I called a bunch of trainers to see if someone could help with his dog reactivity. They all flat out refused because of his age and size to train him around other dogs which is what Sheldon needed. After the first two sessions with Isaac where he shared invaluable tips, he allowed us to practice around his dog Finn (the most placid dog). Isaac was patient, calm, and supportive of our journey with Sheldon. He'd even offer guidance if I had a question about the training post-session.
