Good beer, good fun, great music on Sunday afternoons in the beer garden, favorite place to meet friends and have a good time. A wonderful neighborhood bar.

Decent townie bar on the edge of Bridgeport. You either go to Cork and Kerry or you go here. Went…read morehere recently on the day of a Sox playoff day game, didn't feel like walking the extra distance to Cork and Kerry wasn't sure if they were even open yet? A friend recommended I go here, so we did. Got there early cause we knew the place would be mobbed. Sat outside on the sidewalk and they had plenty of tables and chairs and umbrellas. Waitress name was Claire and she took pretty good care of me and my son and his buddies who showed up eventually . After a few buckets, we decided we needed food. Had the breaded steak sandwich as did my son. Slightly above average for bar food, but obviously not as good as Ricobene's. But still above average. Wash that down with a few buckets, and it was averagely priced. Bar in the inside is kind of tight, as it's not a huge bar. But the bartender was friendly enough. The manager/owner came out and was directing us where to sit , cause he's telling us it's 11 AM it's gonna get really crowded, real quick. Which it did , but at least we got to eat and have some beer first, before it got out of control with wall-to-wall people. Which was expected . But again you're two blocks north from the White Sox play, why wouldn't it get out of control and it was a playoff game. I did enjoy the service and the atmosphere... since as a Chicago sports fan you don't get many playoff opportunities, so it's always a fun atmosphere. Turtles was good and I would go there again. Recommend!

I would suggest coming on a day without a Sox game occurring or with a smaller group since seating is limited. The bar was clean and the staff were nice! I did not eat any of the food since I came around 10 pm, so if you would like to try the food I would say come earlier in the day. Would I come here again! Maybe, since the drinks were cheap (two gin and club soda for $17) and the staff were great.

There is an epic wall mural that features different aspects of the city, including a huge Barack Obama head. As I said: epic. The bar is separated into two distinct parts, divided by a counter/tables in the center (you have to walk all the way around if you want to switch sides or move at the tables). On one side is the bar and a few TVs to watch the games, giving it a louder sports bar kind of vibe. On the other side there are a bunch of tables--almost like picnic tables. It feels very communal and laid-back. It's a place you can sip on drinks and easily spend time with a group of friends. The Cove is very group-friendly. My favorite part? My friend brings his dog there and it's no problem. Is this bar a dive? Yes. Do I care? No. Do I actually love it? Absolutely. Best bar on the area, hands down.

There's also a pool, shuffleboard, and foosball table available for free. The entrance fee is $3 per entry or $10 for a quarter-long membership (cash only). After a particularly hard class my friend Dan and I would drown our sorrows in the Pub with shirley temples and philly cheesesteaks. Everyone sleeps on the food, it's so cheap and SOOOOO good and it always hits the spot. Perfect bar food, and I literally always get the fried pierogies and I've never looked back!!! Also 2 corn dogs for $5 is CRAZY (though according to my friend they've raised prices rip) but still yummy and hot!!!!! The staff and Victor are SO awesome and have been doing it for years!!!! Please show them lots of love!!!
