I found out (from Mike Nejaime, a relative who works at my local liquor store--Ponte's Torringford Liquor Store) that even though the grocery shop has changed hands, the Nejaime family runs a couple of wine shops in that area so I wanted to speak with one of the Nejaimes. (My dad was Lebanese, so I am half, and they are Lebanese, so we also had that fond connection.) When I walked into the Lenox store, I was greeted warmly by a man working there and a nice lady as well who asked if she could help me. I said I'd like to speak to a Nejaime, and she went into the back and brought back Joe Nejaime, the proprieter, who is the son of owners of the little grocery store in Harwinton, CT from my childhood. Joe was nice as could be, and we talked and reminisced about the store from our childhood days. I ended up telling him that I saw him and his store on an episode of "The Real Housewives of New York City." He told me that Dorinda Medley (one of my favorites) has a house close by there. I was so excited to buy her signature Bourbon, and Joe even took a selfie with me! The store is immaculately clean and has an amazing selection of wines and liquors.
