I've been out of the rat race (employment world) for a decade. Although I have a past work history of lots of clerical experience and have owned two small businesses, my last ten years of volunteering with too much free time, my lack of current job experience using software and with the very very high competition for work in Eugene/Springfield made finding a job/career situation seemingly impossible. My old/outdated resume was just not getting attention. When I contacted Heather she replied within a few hours and we were on the phone talking about me and my work history/skills and how to move forward in updating my resume to get me the job I wanted. I followed her instructions providing her with as much info as possible that would add to my resume (all my volunteer experiences) and we met for coffee and she went over everything. Later that afternoon I had a resume that looked pretty awesome. Heather also helped me craft a cover letter that company managers/HR department heads want to read. I was getting responses from my cover letter/resume submissions and importantly, interviews! After spending a month of not getting any leads I was getting closer and closer to a job. Heather even helped me w/ interview tips and kept in touch w/ me to make sure I was feeling confident about job hunting. She went above and beyond my expectations. I was hired this week and owe a lot to Heather's skillful talent in the HR world.

The management here in Eugene heard my complaint and worked diligently to rectify the situation, taking a personal interest in helping me land interviews. As a result, I was placed in a a company that fit perfectly with my work skills and competencies, and I was eventually hired on full time with the company. The issue with Robert Half is there division that performs placements from afar--an office in Las Vegas trying to coordinate short term placements here in Oregon, and doing a mediocre job of it. The review below is an indication of that experience, and though it is an indicator of how things CAN go with this temp agency, it is not indicative of the company as a whole or its general practices. I leave my original (1-star) review from 08/2015 below, because of the experience I had, with this preface the company is willing to correct problems if you make yourself heard: A terribly organized temp agency. Definitely do not recommend. They ask what type of work you want, what hours you can work, and what minimum pay you will accept. Then, they offer you jobs that do not meet any of those requirements. The Eugene office can't seem to place me, but I get phone calls from the Las Vegas, NV and Illinois offices--for work placements in Eugene and Springfield. Have waited for over a week for a time card to be approved. Also, got told I could not apply for positions outside of Eugene (Salem and Albany), even though I made it abundantly clear that I am moving out of Eugene and want to seek work outside the Eugene area. They recruit, but it is just to fill their databases with bodies.

I was finally called 15 minutes past the due time of the interview. 2. During the phone interview, I was told I needed to bring in documents the following week (drivers license, etc) drove out to Eugene to find out those documents weren't required. The agent decided to change her mind and only requires the documents when I would get hired for the job. 3. Called to follow up on the job I was a candidate for. Made a call once a day Monday through Thursday. Left several messages with no calls back. Eventually found out I did not get the job (through a ziprecruiter notification) and received no call back from the temp agency explaining or a follow up. I haven't heard anything back from this hiring person in over a month. This is by far the worst customer service I have gotten from any temp hiring agency. Found a job I love doing outside of this agent that was supposed to assist.

Heidi is a total pro, and knows exactly how to write a winning resume…read more I'm in a STEM field, and was looking for move my career forward. I had sent my resume out to several places with zero success. I ran my resume thru one those online resume critique services, which came back with some seriously terrifying news: I had a bullet-point achievement resume which wasn't what employers today want. Today's employers are looking for a "demonstrated experience" resume. Well, I had no idea where to start. Yelp led me to Heidi. After a 45-minute phone interview (in which I felt somewhat clueless talking about myself), Heidi responded within a few days with a resume draft - and what a turnaround!! I not only looked amazing on paper, but as I read through it, I realized that my resume accurately reflected me and my work in the best possible way. I was not just amazing on paper, I felt amazing in my career, and my confidence skyrocketed. This time, my resume got me responses and interviews. The language in my resume also helped me to talk about myself in interviews - I suddenly knew how to sell myself. Heidi also crafts a cover letter, and gives you tips for how to make small changes that tailor your resume and cover letter to the job for which you're applying. All correspondence with Heidi was done over the phone or thru email, which was extremely convenient for me. It didn't matter that Heidi didn't know much about my field - she captured the exact language necessary. I spent $250, and it was worth every penny. Thank you, Heidi.

I feel very confident now in presenting my resume to any prospective employer! Thank you, Heidi!

Multiple times I let them know my name, and pronouns, in emails, voicemails, phone calls, and in my initial interview. Yet they would not use my proper name and pronouns in ALL communication. They gave me a job that accommodated and understood this. However my partner had a life threatening medical emergency and I had to miss a lot of work to be there with him, resulting in that assignment not working out. After that they said they needed to take a 6 month break from working with me over this? I have worked with multiple staffing agencies over my years, and I have never had a temp agency take a break from working with me over an assignment not working out due to medical emergency? 6 Month break? Try forever, you've lost a client and a great employee. I imagine this staffing agency is alright if you are cishet (straight and sex assigned at birth identifying). However, if you are LGBTQ+ I cannot and will not recommend this place, even if my life depended on it, I still wouldn't. 0/10

One such comment was regarding the issue of the online application needing your social security number. I, too, was leary of this and decided to go in to speak with someone in person. Not only did no one greet me for quite some time (and I was the only one in the office), but when I asked to speak with someone about starting employment options she pointed me to their "web-based application" flyer. I told her I'd already checked out the info online and didn't feel comfortable putting my social security number online. She seemed DUMBFOUNDED and began to tell me that it's a secure website. We had a staring match for a few seconds because I was waiting for her to tell me what other options I had. Nothing. Just repeated herself. So I said, "Ok then. I guess i'll go somewhere else." That was it. Terrible business. Terrible. Very disappointed.
