His riding therapist is so caring and intuitive about handling our son's special needs. Kevin is calmer and more confident since his horseback riding therapy at Tara's Chance. Buying a medium sized container of feed was more than enough, IMHO. Visitors are required to feed only the goats & sheep from the other side of the enclosure. Without feed, visitors can enter the closure & pet/brush the animals. Besides the goats & sheep, there are 2 pigs, chickens, and in a separate enclosure, emus & a cow. No access allowed to those, however. Pony rides are an option for little kids. The ride is around an oval track. There is also a playground area to burn up some energy. A few handwashing stations on premises to stay hygienic during your visit. Barnyard Buddies is an accessible nearby barnyard experience. I was lucky enough to grow up around chickens, so I'm not new to livestock. It's my firm belief kids should be around animals, and know where their food comes from, whether it be eggs, milk and/or meat. While not a place I'd recommend traveling large distances to visit, for those nearby or whom happen to be in the area, Barnyard Buddies is a wonderful opportunity to feed enthusiastically hungry goats & sheep, and brush plump piggies. We did the easy route for the sake of getting our steps in & somehow, it led us to castlewood trail on the other side. We completed 3.5 miles round trip. There were no shades so wear a hat & sunblock. Luckily, the weather wasn't so hot yesterday. I definitely want to try the other route next time!

Reached out another 3 times and after sending me really unprofessional and rude text messages, Trish refused to give me back my payment. Montana refused to respond as well. Trish even sent me a screenshot showing proof she did receive the money from me . Made a dispute with my bank to get my money back. This academy is a lot of drama. Very disrespectful and rude people. It clearly shows in the reviews that Trish has a history of keeping clients payments without returning services in exchange or returning refunds .

My adult daughter and I had our first lesson with her today and I cannot say enough great things about her. She has the experience, knowledge, and ability to teach you, your kids, or anyone how to ride correctly so that you are confident in the saddle. She also shows you how to groom and tack up (saddle) your horse which increases your confidence around horses. She is definitely safety first, has incredible patience, no judgment, and is a lovely and friendly person. Everything you could possibly want in a riding instructor. I have ridden a fair amount over the years but haven't been on a horse in several years. I wanted to improve my form and technique while getting back into riding. Dede was the perfect choice to get started again. My daughter and I took a lesson together (great bonding experience, parents!) Very helpful to eavesdrop on the tips she was giving each of us while we were in the arena. There is also the option of doing trail rides while we learn which we'll definitely take advantage of as we progress. Who knew there were gorgeous trails right off the 605/60 freeways?!?!? Dede has a number of beautiful, well-trained horses to suit every rider and their ability. The Whittier Narrows Equestrian Center is a large and lovely facility, well maintained, with easy access off the 605, and immediate access to riding trails. With summer vacation on the horizon, Urban Horseman is the ideal source for riding lessons, horsemanship camps for kids, individual (or perhaps small group/friends lessons), or parent/kid time together. Reasonable rates for quality instruction. You will absolutely get your money's worth at Urban Horseman and have a fantastic time learning or improving your riding skills. If you're genuinely interested in learning how to ride -- English Discipline, Western Discipline -- Reign Equine is a great place to start! One instructor competed on the intercollegiate circuit and can talk to your college bound equestrian about opportunities to explore. With regard to previous posters, it's important to remember Reign Equine is a business. There are schedules and policies that must be adhered to to ensure that all clients enjoy a safe and fun experience and that their equine business partners are happy in their work and safe to work with. The day of my lesson, I walked around for 10 minutes trying to find help on finding my instructor. Someone ended up seeing me lost and offered to help but even she was confused on why I was there. After some time, we found my instructor and she was running past time on another person's lesson. As this was my first lesson, I did not have boots to wear but I was aware that loaner boots were to be offered for the first 2-3 lessons. There were only a few boots to loan and thankfully one of them was my size, however they were actually Laura's boots that she had laying around the tack room. My instructor herself was really kind and helpful. The only downside was that she didn't teach me how to saddle up my horse and she just put it on herself. She taught me the fundamentals of riding for about 20-30 minutes. Another person was riding their horse in the same area I was and I noticed that she was distracted talking to them instead of being focused on me. At the time, I still was interested in doing more lessons with this business. A week goes by and Laura messages me and asking how my lesson was and if I wanted to book another one. I said I was interested and wanted to know recommendations on where I can buy my own pair of boots. She read my text the same day but I did not get a response until 11 days later. I asked to schedule another lesson and i gave her a time and day (which was supposed to be today) but received no response or confirmation. I receive a text from Laura at around 2pm today which was way past the time I wanted my lesson at that says "Are you still coming?". I let her know that I did not receive a response from her confirming my lesson. She did not respond and ended up blocking me on messages. Overall, I've decided that this business is not suited for me as their communication severely declined after I had my first lesson. For anyone who wants to book a lesson here, make sure you are persistent in communication with them because they will leave you on read and not respond to you.
