Doctor or nurses did not explain why i needed to provide a urine sample, nor did I discuss with the doctor(neither Dr. Panoff, or Dr. Batista) beforehand on what to expect during the exam or procedure. thought it was odd that i only met the doctor in the exam room. I had both nice doctors- however, they need to explain to their patients on what to expect, especially if it is their first appointment. Also i felt very truamatized by the speculum. My first speculum exam, they used a big speculum and it felt like it was for someone who had children, it hurt. Went to another doctor in the same practice, still hurt, but she did stop. Went to both Dr. Panoff, and Dr. Batista. I did have my first pap smear here, which once the speculum was in wasn't bad, but it still hurt. I don't think they had a pedriac speculum here. They also do not follow the guidelines in which state that if pap is normal, can wait every 3-5 years. Oh and the Monroe office has since closed as of May 2024. If it's your first exam, i don't recommend this place. No Sympotms either, i don't recommend this place, very poor bedside manner also.

That said, my experiences with Dr. Mieszerski have been nothing short of exemplary. She is thorough, smart, experienced, and kind. Asks intelligent questions, and listens to the answers. She thinks outside the box. And, wonder of wonders, she takes the time to fully understand and respond to your concerns. Everyone in her office is responsive, warm, caring. It's the way health care should work.

I have to deduct a star though, because she is one of those doctors who relies purely on BMI charts to determine whether a patient is "healthy." Every time I have an appointment, I will get the "Dana, you are overweight" lecture. According to my BMI, yes, I am overweight. Conversely, my resting pulse is 56, I can run a mile in a little over 7 minutes, and my dimensions are 33-25-34.5*. I really loathe doctors and their blind reliance on BMI charts, it's like giving a baby a hammer and everything becomes a nail. *Maybe I've won the title of World's Fittest and Petite Overweight Person!

I called to schedule my annual visit back in March 2023 and the first available was 8/1/23. Kind of annoying, but I took it. The office called me at 4:30pm the day before my appt to cancel/reschedule. The next available was 9/22/23. Again, I take it because that was the best offer. However, I just received a voicemail today (8/28/23) saying they again need to cancel my appointment and to call to reschedule- oh, and the next available is now December 2023. Ridiculous.

Dr. Teixeira was my original OBGYN but once you get pregnant they encourage you to see everyone cause any of them may be there delivery day. I met 8/10 doctors during my prenatal appointments and they were all wonderful, informative. The office staff was friendly and helpful- and I just knew I would be taken care of. When I was at 41 weeks with no baby we scheduled for induction. I saw many of the friendly face at Phelps I'd met over the last 9 months and Dr Spriyda was there to help me give birth. My whole experience with the practice and giving birth I felt so taken care of, and with any questions or concerns the doctors were responsive. If you are pregnant and looking for a good team of doctors and place to give birth- this is it.

Although she was very nice my one complaint about her is she reeked of cigarette smoke. One of the question she asked was am I a smoker, it should've been I'm a smoker so I'm going to reek of it. I was honestly going to say something but I really just wanted to get out of there. Other than that though she was really nice and helpful to an extent. The front desk, although was nice to an extent,was very not helpful. I tried to get them to talk with my insurance company because they were trying to bill me when I was not supposed to pay and she's like oh we're not allowed to talk on the cell phones I'm just like it's my insurance company and they would just like to talk to you to make sure that you're not billing the incorrect code she refused to speak to my company and I had to dictate what they were saying over the phone to her. When I ask them for a code to give to my company to enter in for the information all they could say was we're not a hospital we don't have those codes and it took them at least five minutes to give me a code that was not exactly the one that I needed. The place is clean however the professionalism in there needs serious work.

His unprofessionalism and bedside…read moremanner is unlike anything I have ever seen in a medical professional. 9 Years ago I had my first Pap smear, I came to dr masellis office with my mother. I was very nervous considering it was my first time at the gynecologist. As Dr Maselli proceeded to do the Pap smear, he says "there's nothing to be scared of here, your boyfriends thing is bigger than this!" ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!? and this was said to a 16 year old girl and in front of my mother. Totally inappropriate! Early February of this year, I realized I had not gotten my period in over a month. My breasts grew tremendously. I took two at home tests. One was very vague and I couldn't tell. The second one I took was negative. A week later I began bleeding heavily, blood clots and serious abdominal pain. I made an appointment that day with Dr Maselli and told him about the excessive bleeding that I have to wear a diaper. When I got to the exam room, the medical assistant told me to take everything off, put on a smock and have a seat. I had to remind her I was bleeding a lot and she rolled her eyes at me and was like "oh I guess I'll get you a towel for you to sit on". After the Pap smear and exam, Dr Maselli requested a urine sample and then had me sit in the waiting room. The same medical assistant went to check my urine in the bathroom (which is located right beside the waiting area. She then screams "DR MASELLI! I DONT KNOW IF THIS SAYS PREGNANT OR NOT!" Are you actually for real now? Granted I was the only patient in the waiting room, but the three receptionists were still there and two other medical assistants were socializing with the receptionists. I was mortified. Dr Maselli strolls over and says really loud "OH BOY!" He then signals me to follow him into his office and goes "So are you gonna keep it or kill it?" Really that's what you're going to ask me? I just find out in the worst way possible that I'm pregnant and that's what you ask me. F you! He then sends me to get a blood test done that day which confirms I am pregnant. He then calls me the next day and sends me to have more blood work done. At this point the bleeding is profuse and I'm in bed for about a week and a half wearing diapers. I'm trying to get a hold of Dr Maselli and no one is getting back to me whether I'm miscarrying or what. A week later, I found out from my father in law who is a doctor in the hospital nearby the results of my blood work which confirm a miscarriage. Dr Maselli didn't have the decency to call me back. Shame on him. Luckily I found a fabulous OBGYN Dr Emerson, and I am five months pregnant!

Total crap when it comes to menopausal women. Wont recommend or give any advice as to how to…read morehandle menopause, i.e. hot flashes, weight gain, mood swings all related to fluctuation in hormones. Women have to find this out on their own. Sh*t crap practice. I will not return.
