I've been going to Kelly Collaborative for years and the treatment I have received from the staff there has been stellar, most especially from Dr. Kelly, P.A. Kennedy Lewis, and Dr. Tal. Most recently my jaw was injured by an anesthesiologist at a hospital during an endoscopy. I was in severe pain, could not talk or close my mouth, yet was offered little help or advice there and was sent home. I was tempted to go to the E.R., but that would have been a $1300 copay. That evening, my sister called Kelly Collaborative and spoke to the on-call P.A. and was able to make an appointment for the next morning with Dr. Kelly. The Dr. could see there was a possible jaw dislocation and referred me to an ENT walk-in clinic right down the road so that I could see an ENT specialist. Literally within an hour my problem was diagnosed (dislocated jaw), relocated, and I was almost completely pain-free. Without Dr. Kelly's experience, skill, and knowledge of the perfect specialist to see, I hate to think of how much pain I could still be in. I've been a patient here for over 5 years, but my recent experience was unacceptable. I scheduled an appointment in July for September, only to get a last-minute call the same morning saying it was canceled because the schedule was "frozen." The call was handled rudely and unprofessionally, and I was told the next available appointment wouldn't be until mid-October. After waiting over a month and rearranging work, this level of disregard for patients is extremely disappointing. Will find a new PCP. read more

My new GP is Dr. Elmelda Ta who is incredibly kind, knowledgeable and who listened carefully to my complicated health issues. She ordered tests, gave me referrals for some of my more specialized issues and all around has been lovely. I'm very glad to be her patient and to have her as my doctor. I highly recommend her if you need a GP or even just a check up. The office is clean and well taken care of, with cold bottled water in the patient waiting room. The ladies at the front desk are kind and attentive. Also, the phlebotomist, Cash, is amazing at her job! I usually have problems getting blood drawn but she has been a pro twice now and she couldn't be nicer. read more

I've met with Dr. Kelly twice and am impressed! She's caring, personable, knowledgeable and interested in cause as much as treatment. This matters for everyone but especially as a complicated patient. I've found some doctors really don't have time or interest. I was relieved that she didn't run me off but was quite compassionate and knowledgeable about my conditions. I know I'm not alone in my appreciation of her because she stays booked out. That's the only drawback but she offers quality time and attention when I see her and it's my understanding there are other doctors in the practice available for the occasional need of a sick visit. read more

Unfortunately this practice has a waiting period for Dr.Kelly of one year for new patients, so I decided to book my annual wellness appointment with Sharon Drummond. My appointment was very brief and Drummond actually recommended additional testing. After the test results came back I had questions about understanding the results from the tested requested by Drummond. Unfortunately I had to schedule a virtual visit with Drummond to follow up with my own results, since it was requested by her since I messaged her through privia. It was repeated information that was stated in the results, this virtual visit was at most 5 minutes. Later on to receive in the mail that I was billed by my insurance I supposedly had a virtual evaluation of 15 min. I tried reaching billing department as recommended by my insurance, I reached out to the office 3 times in regard to the same issue none of my concerns were addressed. I tried emailed, which was provided by their front desk staff but it didn't not seem to work either. After months of no response I decided this practice was not best fit for me. I've been a patient of Kelly Collaborative Medicine since the pandemic hit and she is wonderful. After suffering most of my life with allergies and recurring sinus infections Dr. Kelly suggested that I get an allergy test. Her staff collected blood and sent it off for analysis and low and behold I'm allergic to everything. So long story short she won't just treat the symptoms but look in depth at the cause. My previous doctor, Shawna Reshard, moved to NC and I was in desperate need of a primary care doctor. Finding a good one is very difficult. It's a tough field. So tough, I usually only go to a specialist at the point of need (my insurance doesn't require referrals so I was one to always bypass the primary care doctor). Now, with my insurance charging a $50 copay to see a specialist, even OBGYN's, I had to change my approach. I was specifically looking for a black female doctor and black-owned practice. I'm sick of the likes of Hopkins and such. It's too bureaucratic. Upon meeting Dr. Kelly, I knew I'd follow her to the moon. The compassion... The personalized care... The bedside manner... The cultural competence... The time investment and actually listening skills... The thoroughness and friendliness... I had such a great experience that I asked for a hug at the end of my visit. I'm so happy to have come across this practice. Patient for life. You can check-in online and when you arrive via an iPad. The office is very clean and plenty of parking. I did not wait for a long time (at all) to see the doctor. I talked a lot (to provide history) and she never rushed me. I appreciated that. I am happy to partner with this practice. read more

This is my first time at Kelly Collaborative. I had high hopes being that it is a clinic that is black owned and women owned. In addition, I also read great things on the website, HOWEVER, I was highly disappointed with my visit yesterday on Tuesday March 12th 2024 and I will tell you why. I scheduled an appointment via Zocdoc with this clinic months in advance for a gynecology and Pap smear appointment . When I entered the main clinic waiting room, I was greeted warmly by the two receptionists at the front who checked me in. I completed my intake forms and was escorted into another waiting room to be seen by the doctor. I was then greeted by the medical assistant who took my weight, height and blood pressure. She asked me "What was the purpose of my visit". I responded by telling "I am here for a Pap smear", to which she stated, "Unfortunately, there are only two doctors that do pap smear and they are not here today. The doctor you are scheduled to see does not perform that service". I sat there confused and I told her that's strange because that's the MAIN REASON why I came to this appointment. To which she responded by saying "I am sorry, I don't know how that happened. I will let your doctor know". I then told her I may need referrals for specialty doctors to which she responded, "Your doctor can suggest some locations and help you with referrals" to which I told her "Thank You". Anyways, I sit there waiting and here walks in my doctor for the day- Dr. Marcel Edwards- Bayo. She does her introduction without a smile and again asks what brings me in for today. I told her the same thing I told the assistant. I said " I am scheduled for a gynecology/pap smear exam. In a rude manner, she's then responds, "I don't specialize in that-so I don't know what to tell you". I then said "I understand that, and I proceeded to show her a screenshot of my appointment which showed I scheduled an appointment with this clinic via Zocdoc and the reason for today's visit. Dr. Edwards-Bayo then responds in a dismissive tone "We are having the same conversation over and over. I already said I don't specialize in that service. You should contact Zocdoc's IT" I sit there baffled, unsure of what to say and shocked that a doctor is speaking to me in this manner". I responded by saying " I am a new patient and this is my first time visiting the clinic. As my doctor I am disappointed in your behavior. I feel disrespected and dismissed because I am expressing my concerns to you and because you don't specialize in a certain service, you are pushing me away, directing me to IT". This doctor proceeds to provide an explanation of my situation by referencing door dash- as a means to say that the clinic should not be held responsible for what happened today because I booked on Zocdoc and did not schedule an appointment with a specific doctor. I sit there in silence for a while puzzled by what this doctor is trying to say. I respond by saying "You are telling me that Zocdoc should be responsible for an appointment I scheduled on February 5th-approximately a month in advance with this clinic and clearly indicated the reason for my visit? A clinic should do their absolute best to align a doctor to the specific needs of a patient, but you are telling me that I should contact Zocdoc's IT to address this issue?". She then responded once again in a rude way "Yes, like I said this is not my specialty, so I don't know what else to tell you or how to help you". With that response, I just shut down and was in disbelief of the doctor's unprofessional behavior regarding my issue-clearly this doctor has a negative attitude and does not have any empathy, compassion or care for her patients. I wasted my gas and took time away from work just to visit this clinic to be treated like I don't matter by my supposed doctor. At the very least, she was able to provide me with a referral to see a specialty doctor when I asked her after my frustration with the first situation. With all that being said, I wished I was treated better than I was yesterday by my doctor given that it was my first time at this clinic. Not once did this doctor say I am sorry for the inconvenience or just an ordinary sorry for what happened yesterday. First impressions are very important in a patient's healthcare to build and foster a patient to doctor relationship, so immediately after today's visit I am turned off by this clinic and I do NOT think that I will be EVER coming back. Granted, while there might be other doctors in this clinic who could provide me with the support and the care that I require, based on today's visit, I am NOT interested in meeting with any other doctors/practitioner at this clinic. I will make sure to discourage any family and friends interested in visiting this clinic in the future. I was a NEW patient looking for a Primary care physician, I never met Dr. Kelley BUT I did meet her assistant, she was very nice e and had good bedside manner. I went to the restroom to give a urine sample and the sample cabinet was filled with other patients samples and some one before me sat their sample on the table near the clean cups. I had to take my sample to the front desk and alert them of the problem. I never got my results back or a follow-up call. However I did get a bill! read more

LOOK NO FURTHER for compassionate and fabulous health care! Get ready for the last doctor you will ever need for your general health care! Sometimes the wait is long, but I know that the patient before me is getting the care that she needs and that I will receive the same quality time. (Bring your​ phone to surf the net or to play Sudoku while you are waiting!) After 20 years with the same doctor, I was in need of a change because the quality of care had become questionable. I used both Yelp and Healthgrades to find Dr. Kelly. Dr. Kelly spends as much time with you as you need, and her staff is top notch. Most physician's front desks are "meh!" If you have a question or concern, the front desk has medical personnel to help you instead of putting you off to wait for a call from a busy physician, and no question is too small . . . they are s-o-o-o-o-o nice! Dr. Kelly is smart and young! So I know that she will be my physician for as long as I am around or am living in Silver Spring MD! read more

Kelly Collaborative is a wonderful place with staff that truly care and are easy to talk to. They really listen to your concerns and do their best to help you. They are knowledgeable and friendly. This is probably the best doctor I've ever had......BUT it's also by far the slowest I've ever had as well. I have never actually seen the doctor until over an hour after my appointment time. I have never gotten out of a visit without it taking about 2 hours minimum and this is for simple things. This is not a place you can go to before going to work unless your gonna just take the morning off. It's worth it to come here because they are so good but just know it's going to take a long time maybe bring a charger for your phone. read more
